You know what?     You're probably right.

But after the hometown fans booed Luck off the field,  I think Indy just shot itself in the foot trying to be a good destination for future free agents.     Good luck trying to get guys to come here in the future.

Ballard came THIS CLOSE to scolding the fan base in his big presser yesterday,  and then stopped himself right in the middle.

It was such a terrible thing for the fans to have done.    Bad look for the franchise and the city.

Boo Andrew Luck who has given all he could give.     Mob rule gone mad.     You and others here may like it,   but I don't think it was helpful to the franchise.

While I would not have booed, there is nothing illegal about it, they were not throwing bottles, and if someone wants to pay to watch preseason football football they can boo the referees, the QB, the coach, kicker, receivers, defense, o-line, running-back, family, other crowd members, owner, anyone you want to. I also think luck's teammates have every right to defend Luck and call out the boo-birds, so I don't feel anyone is wrong in the situation. If booing was that bad on a long term health of the franchise, the Philadelphia Eagles would have been out of business a long time ago.

  2. I just wonder why couldn't they wait until Draft day, see who's #1 and then #2 and then teams will be desperate or you might get the guy you wanted all along. Just because Mel Kiper has Barkley & Chubb going #1 & #2 doesn't mean that is how it will play out. Way back in 1999, Mike Ditka gave away everything to get Ricky Williams at pick #5 (Washington was #5)right after the Colts picked the Edge at #4 . It just seems Chris Ballard  got trigger finger before it was needed.

After 16 NFL starts, it's clear to me he's easily in the top 40 QB's. Playing behind this O-line, for this OC, on this team, with no camp, will not be lost on QB gurus around the league. His size, arm strength and durability make him a viable candidate for another 16 games at the helm.

The story of not being in camp sounds impressive until you see Jimmy G in San Francisco (a team the Colts beat) pop in after the trade deadline and go 4-0, 3-11 without training camp doesn't seem to be so sensational.

  4. At least I didn't throw the 2010 Seahawks, going 7-9 and winning a first round playoff game into the equation. I think avoiding a losing season last year was a good thing, remember Atlanta was 8-8 in 2015 and made it the big game the following year. I'd rather make the playoffs every year, but as long as Andrew Luck is fully recovered,I just have a optimistic feeling about this year's team.

That's a league wide thing for every team, not just the Colts.

I like it, it's a way to build up rivalries, lets face it AFC south rivalries are not at the level of the other divisions. maybe someday I'll hate the Titans & Jaguars more than the Steelers.

The scary line can't score points though

J.J. Watt a couple of years ago was a touchdown machine on both sides of the ball, he didn't do much at all last season.

  7. I don't even know who the QB of Houston will be next season? Savage? Yates? Schaub? Carr? Tebow? Kapernick? some college guy that I know nothing about? the Defensive line is scary though.

  8. Wasn't alive too enjoy it, but I have a lot of late 60's Colts media guides and magazines. NFL coastal division Colts,Rams, 49ers, & Falcons. Colts won it in 68, Rams 69, Colts and Rams both went 11-1-2 in 67 Rams won the tie-breaker on last game of the season in the LA coliseum. payback time!! lol

  9. Going to 10-6 and losing in a nail biter because of coaching mismanagement? (2010)

Going 8-8 and winning the last game of the season in spectacular fashion (2016)

normally I would say playoffs are always better, but then I think about the year after 2010, how everything imploded, and I have a more positive feeling coming off a 8-8 great finish. Does momentum carry over to the next season for players though?

I like the Colts unis just the way they are. The only change I'd really get behind would be to change to striped socks. I forget what year it was that they wore those ('08?), but I liked it.

I would lengthen the sleeves so the stripes go around, but that is a league jersey issue.
