My point is that this has been going on all year. It's not like the TN game was some red flag out of nowhere.

However, today's news makes it seem like AV is actually hurt. So this move might be more prompted by his status than I originally thought. Still, interesting coincidence that McLaughlin is available now...

Yup If McLaughlin plays well I would expect the Colts to move on from AV next year and save some money as well in the process.

So I've seen this a lot, including comments from the broadcast team during the game. Do people believe that AV had a bad game against the Titans?

He missed a 55 yarder. Then two kicks got blocked. I don't think that was a bad game by AV.

And I think this waiver claim is a matter of circumstance, not an indication that they're done with AV and he won't kick anymore this year. The Niners waived a guy who has looked pretty good because Robbie Gould is back. The timing is coincidental, IMO.

AV will get to 600 with the Colts, this year.

Edit: By the way, the Colts wanted to sign McLaughlin to the PS earlier this year.

AV was bad in the Tenn game. IMO one of the blocks was a poor kick the first one. AV has not been good this year and when he does go out to kick even an extra point I don't have any confidence in him! Did he lose the Tenn game for the Colts, no but certainly if he had made just one of those kicks it would have helped. I do think he AV lost the Colts 3 games this year, the SD, Pitt, and Mia were games the Colts could of won, and his play hurt the chances in all.

Yeah, when you have Luck, its easy to make the QB your best player.  If you have Matthew Stafford, he probably shouldn't be the best but should be in the top 5, possibly need him to be in the top 10.

As for our future, we have two important positions filled with very good players right now, LT and #1 WR.  The problem is that they are the same players we had at those positions 7 years ago, so how long will they be what we need?  We're going to have to use some high picks fairly soon just to maintain what we have there, which won't help us add talent in other places.

    Agreed

I don't think he did.  I don't think he had responsibility on all of them.  It happens.  He should still get better.

But for the future, I hope that he isn't one of our three best players.

On the deep throw for a TD he was reasonable IMO. I still think hes a good player but that one was on him! All of the blame for the loss is not on him, but that play hurt!! Especially in a tight ball game. Future I hope hes really good, but your top 3 players on a team hopefully would be your QB, a RB or WR & a pass rush guy ideally.

I was one of those people, but remember Funchess and Campbell were are both out so we are down to the backups now.  Pascal had a great game though, maybe he should be ahead of cain and campbell anyway

I like Cain, he fast and acrobatic, not physical & coming off the knee, may need another year to be right, Funchess I like, but has underachieved in Carolina, with questionable Qb play, love his size though, Campbell I like his size and speed, hes got a chance to be real good, so far unable to stay healthy. Pascal does it another way Physical, good hands decent speed, but uses hes body well to shield the defender and willing to take a hit. I like him because hes different from the other guys. The colts have a nice stable of WR now, and we may not have to over pay if they want to retain Funchess.

Guys, if you don't think a first round pick is worth it on a guard, just remember what Nelson has done to transform this offense! Having a superior offensive line is demoralizing to opponents.

Here's a few stats from the Texans game on Glow

6\25 RUN plays he was beat, missed his guy, held, fell down in the hole, or completely wiffed on the second level block (that's 24% of running plays)

15\44 PASS plays he was beat with a swim move, didnt pick up the stunt, held, or was powered straight thru (that's 34% of pass plays)

That's between A quarter and a third of our offense being affected by his play. Most of these misses had a direct affect of Brissett getting hit or hurried or the running game getting stuffed.

That's straight from the tape  and has nothing to do with scheme. Straight up man assignments. A lot of the successful plays he was part of a double team, or the pass was so quick he didn't have time to fail.

    Watch the tape

I think he went against Watt, most of the day. Humm Most have a hard time against him. I will give him a pass, on this one. He is normally solid.

Let’s be fair. The colts were loaded in camp at WR.  No one could of predicted pascal would develop like he has this year.

The Colts were, but people and when I say people MOST people thought he was the odd man out and would be cut. I did not! Hes different from our other receivers, in the he has size and is by far the most Physical receiver we have. In a small sample size he was very good last year when given opportunities. This guy could be real good if we give him opportunities. Real happy for him!!

  8. Colts for the most part IMO were GASHED up front! The Lbers had little chance and the Db's had to make to many tackles in the run game. Also to much time for Rivers, he is VERY accurate when given time!! also I thought the rookie DB's very exposed in coverage. They have to play to get better, but they have to play better to contunie to get time.
