  1. I dont expect a huge season for Newsome only because his opportunities will be cut in half due to Robert Mathis returning at some point and Trent Cole.  Now if Mathis doesn't come back until mid season I would expect 4-6 sacks on the season.  I would also expect 4- 6 even if Mathis plays.  I see Newsome coming in on pass rush situations anyway.

  2. A point was made yesterday on the NFL network that the new additions to the Colts are all team players and that was required by the Colts. No "me, me, me"  type players and THAT is good.

I must say here and now I am almost getting nervous about the praise and predictions I am hearing about the Colts upcoming year. Maybe I am not used to 100% optimism from all commentators..........but perhaps I'll get used to it!!

I hear you, Im nervous too, As a Colts fan we're use to us being down played outside the AFC south as a constant underdog.  But I cant help being excited because Andre Johnson has never played with a top tier QB.  Not to mention he's put up borderline hall of fame stats without that said QB.  Now he's got one!!!

  3. when youve played in the nfl as long as andre, youve already made enough money to keep you satisfied from a financial standpoint. the only thing left for him is to be a champion and the chargers arent even close to that. they've only made the playoffs once in the last 4 years

I suppose, there are alot of other examples where some  pro bowl Vets went the opposite way and took the money.  Im just glad he came over to our side.  Cant wait for us to play the Texans  :excited:

  4. as per http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000478388/article/andre-johnson-colts-escalating-afc-arms-race In fact, the Chargers not only had a plane waiting to whisk Johnson away, but also offered more money than the Colts, per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. Indianapolis offers a symbiotic relationship, increasing the organization's Super Bowl opportunity while affording Johnson and Gore the chance to increase their Super Bowl odds -- and potentially walk off into the sunset. IMO its a breathe of fresh air to see a pro bowl player of Andres caliber take less money, even though Frank Gore probably played a major roll in his decision to sign with us. There is something special brewing in Indy or either we're even better negotiators than the priceline guy.

  5. Like the 72 Redskins, they went all out for the Super Bowl with having a lot of vets on that squad. Seems like history repeating itself with Gore being Larry Brown (not as battered though), hopefully Johnson (Charley Taylor) and Trent Cole (Chris Hamburger). This could be Super Bowl or bust year for the Colts. Thank goodness Luck is not Billy Kilmer; perhaps Sonny Jurgerson. However, Chuck cannot be compared to George Allen.

    :violin: here we go

  6. Per Colts App:

"Okine, 6-6, 284 pounds, most recently played for the Brooklyn Bolts of the Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL) in 2014, where he helped the team to a 4-0 mark. He also played for the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League (AFL) in 2014 and totaled 28 tackles (16 solo), 7.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three passes defensed and one fumble recovery in 16 games. Prior to joining the Predators, he was signed by the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) on October 14, 2013 and was released on November 18.

Okine began his professional football career with the Houston Texans where he was signed as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2013 and was waived on August 27. Collegiately, he appeared in 41 career games for the Florida Gators and finished with 27 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, one blocked field goal and one pass defensed. As a senior in 2012, Okine played in all 13 games and recorded a career-high 12 tackles and a blocked field goal."

good info, had no idea who he was

  7. He's obviously a disappointment. But he had a couple good games, including the Bengals game. According to this report, it was after his hamstring injury in that game that the weight became an issue. That makes sense. You can't run at all when you're trying to let a hamstring get right. He missed the next game, then came back against the Giants. If his weight and conditioning became a problem, it would make sense that it happened then.

By the way, I'm not trying to defend him or say he should be given another chance. I'm beyond ready for him to go. Just saying, I noticed a difference in him after the Bengals game. He went from a subpar 3.6 yards/carry to an atrocious 2.8 yards/carry after that game.

very true, I'm done with him 3.6 YPC is his absolute best, we both can get out there get paid a few million to run 3.6 ypc
