Nice work here. IMO Rd 1 the Colts need a pass rusher first and foremost. I`d go RT in Rd 2.

Yes, the Colts are a bad football team. No, Luck is not overrated! The guy is trying to do to much! The play calling is terrible. I will stay away from the injury excuses. It may be a factor but he`s on the field.

Here is a few other Colts I would consider cutting before next season. The cap savings is to the far right. I don`t see any of these players warranting that amount of money IMO.

I don't see how the alignment of the front 7 has anything to do with whether a safety is a good fit for the colts defense or not. BTW, Collins played at Alabama, a team that largely runs with a 3-4 front.
Someone did n`t do all their homework. Safety is nowhere near as a difficult change from 4-3 to 3-4 ect, as would a front seven position. Alabama runs a 3-4 defense anyways. He would have been a great addition to our league worst defense.

How can a guy who barely gets a chance to see the field produce anything? Collins is on the field all the time, Kendricks, Darby etc
So this justifies Dorsett being an okay pick and makes more sense than drafting some of the other players I mentioned? Got it!
-
The safeties are fine.
And Landon Collins can't cover.
42 tackles, INT and five PD on the season. He`s getting better each week. Collins would have been a better pick for the Colts than Dorsett IMO. However, I think Kendricks would have given us that defensive difference maker we needed. Dorsett is no T.Y.
-
Don't do that, forum hates when you say facts about how awful the Dorsett pick was
Erick Kendricks, Stephone Anthony, Ronald Darby, Rob Havenstein and Hau Kikana drafted in between Dorsett and Smith picks. Its early but hurts looking at this. Kendricks is a future Pro bowler for years IMO. 35 tackles and 4 SACKS from the Mike so far.
-
Could have had Landon Collins who is having a good season with the Giants so far.

Awful to say the least.

1. Byron Jones, CB- Has safety experience. Could replace Toler next year.
2. Paul Dawson, LB
3. Daryl Williams, OT
4. Clayton Geathers, SS5. Ramik Wilson, LB
6. Damian Swann, CB6. Joey Mbu, DT
7. Brian Mihalik, DE
7. Matt Jones, RB

I like Byron Jones, CB. He played safety for 2 years before moving to CB. Also, excels in press man coverage.
-
Yes, I was thinking Kwame Harris and J. Martin. Both drafted fairly high and were mediocre. Peat doesn't` seem to have mean streak in him. More of a finesse guy, so that's where the thought process in him falling out of 1st is.

Byron Jones, CB Played safety for 2 years before moving to CB. Excells in press man. Could be a safety option.
-
Andrus Peat. Stanford has a lot of offensive linemen drafted pretty high, only to be mediocre in the NFL.
-
I`d be happy with Davis or Cobb in the 4th rd.
-
He has great size at 6-4 314lbs. He has some pass rush potential. Would be a great pick in the 5th.
-
I like both mocks.
-
Manning playing does not change the fact that this defense is horrible. Throw in the fact that the Colts coaching staff stinks and I'd say pipe dream.
-
The opposing teams signals recorded.

Precisely.... and of all years for there to be no stud DTs coming out of college, it winds up being this year when we're likely to pick Top 3.
Keep in mind for years that the Colts never drafted any DT's early or with any size. The one year the Colts had Corey Simon was the best defense they had during the Peyton years. I don't know if Dungy had any insight on draft day, or was he just overrated as a defensive guru.

You can`t teach experience and Good got his first dose of it today. Thought he played okay for a 7th rd
pick from where is that U.
