  1. Anytime he steamed Beli and Brady up is good for me!LOL.Hafta love anytime you come back and beat the Pats, especially in playoffs.

Watching him after the SB win was pretty good too.

Commercials were excellent too,he never really took himself TOO seriously.

And of course his community work with all the kids stuff.

  2. Well I guess the "Suck for Luck" campaign everyone wanted was successful.

Not sure how I feel about the whole mess yet.Have been a fan since they moved here, but this whole mess is suspect, confusing, questionable,I don't know.

As far as the conference, there was no real bottom line, concrete reason given. The way it sounds to me,Irsay was trying to get him out yet still look like he's doing a decent thing. The only thing that was said was "circumstances",?I could understand changing the system,it needs to be done. But even if Manning doesn't fit into the system, why let him go?Give him a coaching job or an assistant job or something.Look how many teams have ex-players in coaching/executive positions.

As far as the money,I don't think Peyton was fixed on not negotiating,he's done it already in the past to make room for other players. The bad thing about this,in addition to Manning leaving, there will probably be others who have already stated they will follow him wherever he goes.I think Bob Irsay probably would have found a better way of handling this, maybe I'm wrong but I think he had a little more respect for his players.

One thing I can say that is almost sure to happen is the STHs will start disappearing for the short term anyway.I myself am not sure if I'll watch(may be black out days again anyway) come time for the season to start. Not that it matters, lol.Have a few months to think and try to sort things out I guess.

Bottom line,Mr. Peyton Manning:words cannot express the appreciation I'm sure everyone has for all you've done for the Colts, the city, and the state for that matter.Hopefully your good fortune continues, you will be sorely missed and am deeply sorry for the outcome.

    :sorry::gloomy::thmdown::applause: :manning:

  3. We used to live in Cincy so course I was a Bengals fan. Then the old man got transferred to Indiana in 1980.This was shortly after the Bengals dropped 2 SBs to the 9ers and then of course the Colts moved here in 84,so it was a pretty easy choice to start watching the Colts.Well, watching or for the most part through most of the 80s and early 90s,listening to Lamey, lol. Then Marchibroda and the gang came to town and things starting getting better,Steelers, 95 one reception away, how awesome?

So,regardless of what happens, things have been a lot worse.Probably will continue to watch em.

  4. I have to agree and say enough with the speculation already. Not to disrespect anyone's opinion, but enough rumoring and guessing.Just relax and let them sort it out and wait for something to actually be decided.I have to admit that yes I've stated a few speculations myself but at the same time I haven't commented on any posts lately because the majority have been PM/JI posts.Surely there are Colts issues to decide aren't there?

  5. Just to clarify,I respect Peyton's and Irsay's decision-that is no ones business but their own.Not trying to dictate the decision making process via Tebow/Rodgers.Doesn't really matter if Luck is drafted or not that is their decision to make.Just kind of coming up with ideas to let Peyton know regardless of what happens,he is appreciated for all he's done.

So no offense to anyone's opinions and sorry if I displeased anyone.GO COLTS! :cheer:

  6. Is it possible and/or how could we go about starting a petition/open letter for Irsay to convince him to keep Peyton around and give him some kind of administrative position if he is unable to play?

I myself feel it would be disrepectful to just kick him to the curb imo.I don't know, anyone else feel the same or am I just being silly? haha

  7. I believe Caldwell was only doing what Polian was telling him to do as far as game day strategy. The Polians were fired, pure opinion and my opinion doesn't really matter :), for not having a long term plan.Caldwell, again pure opinion/speculation,was fired for game day performance, thus the fall guy.

This is normal for a NFL coach anyway. It doesn't matter how well a job you do of coaching,if the numbers aren't there regardless of whatever reason,no excuses, the coach is the first to go.

It would have been interesting to see how he did without being controlled and being able to execute his own game plans.

  8. Ok imo there shouldn't even be any debate about whther to keep Peyton especially after all he's done for the Colts and the city.Even if he can't play, give him a coaching position and if there aren't any available then create one.

To even think about booting him out on the street after all he's done is enough for me to maybe think about watching the Colts anymore, not that it matters,LOL!

Look at Elway and the situation there. The Broncos made the situation work and Peyton has done just as much if not more than Elway.

  9. Well,I've watched pretty much every game I could since they moved here.I used to live in Cincy and followed the Bengals till they blew 2 SBs and we moved up here in 80,shortly after came the Colts.

I've only been fortunate enough to attend 3 games in person,2 in Dome 1 Luke.Nice thing about not having the opportunity to attend on a regular basis is you really appreciate it,lol.

Been 28 years now, wow, doesn't seem that long.Been good and bad,but it's been fun."Lord help our Colts" :foam:
