  1. The thing I question about Bradford other than his tendency to get injured easily is that I don't recall him handling pressure in the pocket very well. Andrew Luck, Tom Brady, & Big Ben can make difficult throws with a LB, DE, or safety disrupting his throwing lane by either running, sliding their feet or making pinpoint passes with defenders around them. Sam not so much.

I like him as a person, but as a QB, he almost needs a perfect pocket to have razor sharp accuracy though. Something most GMs or HCs can't guarantee in the NFL. JMO.

I think Bradford does really well throwing on the run and if you aren't careful he can take off. He also does a great job on his play-action which can buy him an extra second or two in the pocket. Unfortunately, his line oftentimes was poor and he faced a ridiculous amount of pressure that completely eliminated any space in the pocket, and when he got throws off, his poor receiving corps wouldn't make routine catches so instead the Rams relied upon the running game to try to move the ball.

  2. Extremely solid? I don't know. I like Bradford myself but he's been quite average when he's not all banged up and injured. It's the Rams running game that almost made them go 8-8 in 2010. (The only season Bradford started every game)

I would say he's been solid when his supporting cast is taken into account. The Rams can't seem to figure out how to get a decent receiver onto that roster and his protection has been far from spectacular. I think if he stays healthy and in Philly then he will put up big stats this year.

  3. Bustford

Hardly, other than his injuries he's been extremely solid. He's overpaid but that's not his fault, that was because of the old CBA. He's always had rather poor blocking and his best weapon in five years was Jared Cook. His receiving corps consisted of rejects from the Titans which is saying something because the Titans need all the help they can get.

  4. I wonder if the 49ers will try to patch up all their holes and compete or if they'll blow it up and start rebuilding again. I'll be interested to see what they do, but best of luck to Borland in his future endeavors.

  5. Mariota won't be a top grade. To maddens credit they don't overrate rookie QBs.

I wouldn't be too sure about that, Madden puts way too much emphasis on speed and Mariota has plenty of that. I would also expect for him to get a few extra points if he's drafted by the Eagles so I could see him being like a 78-80 which would put him pretty high for a rookie.

  6. I would love to post-pone drafting a wide receiver until next year and in the meantime signing Andre Johnson. I think the ideal prospect for our team is Laquon Treadwell from Ole Miss. He's a big receiver that can serve as a great possession receiver and he's a strong, willing blocker in the run game. Another added benefit is that he was teammates with Moncrief in college. For this year though, Andre Johnson is a good possession target and a good veteran presence. Give Johnson a two year deal and try to win him a ring.

  7. When did he show that winning was more important than money? he said he wants to be a billionaire, guys that are all about winning don't say that. He won't end up in Indy.

You can make up the difference of salary in endorsements. Being on a team that routinely goes deep into the playoffs and give him chances to win a Superbowl make him much more appealing to the masses and in turn, much more appealing to potential advertisement opportunities.

  8. It's the LEAST of my concerns by far.

I'd rather have a no-name WR corps if it means having a better O-Line and defense. That is NE and Seattle's model; you don't put too much money into players that a QB can make better (WR, TE).

I'm not sure that's either team's motto per se. NE has Gronkowski and previously had Hernández and Welker and in the past had Randy Moss. Seattle has spent big money on Harvin in addition to picking players like Paul Richardson in the second round. The key is creating a balance and if players want more than you're comfortable with, then let them walk and replace them.

  9. He is serviceable. But a down grade from Orton last year ... and Cassell had AP in 2013 and that did not seem to help him much.

I think in an ideal world, Cassel starts this year while they try to find out how to best address the EJ Manuel. If Roman likes Manuel then he should be the starting quarterback next year after he sits and learns the game this year.

  10. He never made anything close to $5 mil when he was with the Pats. He was a 7th round pick that they turned into a #2 and shipped to KC where he bombed after his first season there and has been fledging every since heading to Minnesota. He is not even close to a $5 mil dollar player which is why Bridgewater took his job last year.

I'm pretty sure Cassel got hurt this last year and that's why Bridgewater took his job. They spent a first round pick on Bridgewater (who I believe is the best rookie quarterback last year) and once you play him due to Cassel's injury, you don't want to destroy his confidence by benching him. I think that Cassel will be fine if he's protected by a good scheme, a good running game and a good defense like he will be in Buffalo.

  11. If we brought in McCourty and Branch I doubt we'd bring Adams back. Brown, yeah definitely. He's gotta be brought back anyway. He's really good on special teams and he's a really good backup too.

I'd bring back Adams just because of how well he played this year and though older, he could provide great insurance if Branch wasn't ready to go or either of the starters were injured. In addition, he's a good veteran presence for the locker room.

  12. I think its a great move by Grigson, but at the same time we are extremely fortunate that Vontae re-committed himself to football. Not everyone is like that; Richardson appears content to coast and isn't extremely interested in playing for us so obviously not everyone is wired the same way. Vontae has talent and Grigson saw that, but it wasn't until Davis changed his mindset that he became really successful.

  13. Peterson comes off as one who believes he has been wronged, as if he is a victim. I am unclear as to what he wanted from the Vikings. He received a paid suspension and almost everyone in the organization has voiced support for him. As you wrote, the Vikings could have voided his contract as the Ravens did to Rice. Carolina recently cut Greg Hardy (and rightly so). Peterson is still a member of the Vikings and most of the fans want him back. After this interview, I am not so sure I want him back. He does not sound remorseful for his actions or grateful that the Vikings continued to pay him after he brought shame and bad publicity to the organization.

If he is on the team this coming season, I won't be disappointed, but it also would not upset me if we would rid ourselves of his contract and the distractions he will bring.

I hope they keep him. I think if they grab DeVante Parker in the first and Gurley in the second (assuming he falls due to injury) as well as keep Peterson, then they can make the playoffs. They should let Peterson finish his contract and have Gurley ready for when Peterson leaves.

  14. At first I thought he may be released, but I don't see that happening now and the only way they trade him is for a 1st IMO.

Any team that is willing to trade a first round pick for a 30 year old running back deserves to go 0-16 next year. At least when Grigson traded a first for a running back, he was a young guy with tons of potential. There is zero reason for any team to offer a first or imo even a second round pick for Peterson.

  15. I love our young recievers, but DGB is an amazing talent. It depends who drops to us for me.

He certainly has talent but that talent is only shown if he's on the field and he won't be on the field if he's pushing women down stairs. Recently, the Colts have dealt with alleged claims of rape, assault and repeated cases of abused substances so I'd be extremely hesitant about adding someone that is widely believed to have committed domestic abuse.

  16. I know he is a WR but DGB came.in at 6'5 237lbs. I want him.

I would rather not draft DGB for two reasons. First of all, the Colts have multiple young receivers so it'd be nice to see their development before adding yet another young receiver. Second, he has several character red flags and given the Colts recent history and the crackdown on behavior, I don't believe it to be in the best interest of the team to add someone that has reportedly abused women in the past.

  17. -The Seahawks will take Gurley at 31

-Some team will trade for Foles before the season and pass on a QB in the 1st

-That will be lead to Philly having enough ammo to move up for Mariota

-The Colts will have a chance to trade back wit a team looking to get Brett Hundley

-4 Pass Rushers will go in the top 10

-Jordan Phillips will go before Danny Shelton

Just out of curiosity, about what range do you have those two in?
