We'll he's made AC a pro bowl LT and mewhort a good guard

If you listen Coach Venturi, he says Castonzo has taken a step back and that Mewhort isn't as good as people are making him out to be. He says Mew is too stiff and has bad footwork. I can't speak to whether he's right or wrong, but would that be coaching or just physical limitations?

I'm just rooting for New England to lose. I take especially great delight when they have their hearts ripped out in the Superbowl. I really don't want to think about what it's going to mean if Brady wins number five.

    This. A thousand times, this.

I try really hard to be an adult and not be petty, but I can't help the glee I feel sometimes when things don't go their way.

I'm not sure this is true?

I thought Hal Hunter was the top OL coach and he just left.

Joe Gilbert was brought in about 4 years ago....   I thought HE was the assistant OL coach?

    Is this not correct?

But if that's wrong and he's willing to take the demotion,  then good for him,  I'm glad he stays.

Philbin at the top then Gilbert....    fine with that....

I believe I heard on the radio last week that there were two O-line coaches on the staff.

Bingo! Wilburn has always had a problem with Irsay and the Colts. It magnified this season with how the media put forth the deflate issue and skewed the facts that turned it into the Colts fault.

The constant ragging on the team was part of what made me quit watching that show a few years ago.

I know that opinions and debates are part of the whole premise but sometimes you have to quit punishing yourself.

Watching PTI the other day and they both point to Irsay as the problem with the Colts.  Of course, neither give any reason why.

He's an easy target because of his tweets and past issues with drugs and certainly his eclectic penchants, but if you look at him as what he does as an owner, I think he's one of the best.  He doesn't burn through coaches and GMs.  His team has been stable and a consistent winner for going on a couple decades (let that one sink in).  He's not a glory grabber like Jones or interferes with the running of the team (as far as I can tell).  He seems to treat people well as I have not heard any stories of him acting the jerk with someone.

Again, it's just lazy journalism that has given him a bad rep.  He had one public indiscretion and that was it.

I don't have any specifics, but I heard several years ago that Wilbon has some sort of issue with Irsay anyway. I'm thinking he's probably always willing to point the finger in Irsay's direction regardless of the issue.

  6. Ok, so he leaves. Where does he go? Dallas is purported to have the best O-line, but it couldn't keep Romo from being destroyed twice this season.

I don't think anyone is poo-pooing the type of injuries he got at all, but Luck likes to play a physical game.  That wouldn't change no matter what team he's on. Why wish for your team's best chance at victory to leave town?

I also feel reasonably certain that if he ducked and covered all the time, certain people would call him "soft" and whine about getting another quarterback that would make plays.

Yeah he's gonna be around....  just makes it real tough to know or see the true plan. The draft order is based on the number of wins, not necessarily how "good" a team is. Along with the rumors of starting player decisions coming from upstairs, what is the TRUE status of Luck? Has the rift between Irsay, Grigs and Pagano hurt team chemistry this season? Before this season, we were a team that looked totally committed to Pagano, and would never give up. Are we laying eggs, holding Luck out, and whatever else, to position ourselves better in the draft? To get rid of Pagano? Are we really "trying" to win every game? I realize that injuries have hurt us, but it has many teams. I am not normally one to be so negative but it looks like a "rebuilding" period of time is about to begin.
