  1. I think Gavin posted about 1000 times that Walden was the worst signing any team has ever made in the history of the NFL but yet he hasnt shown up in this thread yet.... hmmm

Gavin posts his opinion on everything a thousand times (OL)lol.  Gavin has never been wrong either.  I could of sworn that one of those toss plays I saw Werner not setting the edge (not Walden).

  2. Without question, Coby has looked very poor in these first two games....    that said,  let's not forget that prior the games,  he was practically dominating training camp....   he was putting up good numbers most every day at camp.   Suddenly, it appeared the light had gone for Fleener.    Why it hasn't translated into games is a mystery to me....

I'll reserve judgement until I see the next two pre-seasn games....   My hope is he can play despite his mild knee sprain.   I saw him standing and smiling on the sidelines,  so I'm hoping his injury is not too bad.   Allen likely will not be ready to go next week, so Fleener is very much needed, and he really needs to step up....

Dominating in 2 hand touch is different then dominating againt a team that is going to hit you.

  3. its not a nice try its what I saw. He looked like he ran the wrong play. That's why I said it looked like he was going to back or keep running his pattern he wasnt expecting the pass there. Still a mess up his part but just because he screwed up the play doesn't mean he's scared to get hit. If he's scared to get hit you see that more and ducking or looking for the defender as the pass is coming in. Fleener wasn't doing any of that he was running his pattern without looking at the QB or defender. That's why I think screwed up the play.

What are you talking about?  Look if you are trying to defend Fleener then fine but you have no idea what you are talking about.  It was a pass play and Fleener knew it.  Fleener also knows he should of looked at the QB when running across the middle of the field open. smh

  4. because you know the responsibility of all the players at any given time.

I know when you are open to look for the QB to deliver the ball.........are you serious?  Football 101

Unless you are scared and do not want the ball.

Heck when open you might even raise your hands as you want the ball.

  5. I just saw the replay on the news Fleener looked like a guy who was either trying to block or expecting a different play.  He had no clue the ball was coming to him there.  I don't think he was looking for the defender because he was scared of the hit I just don't think he was expecting the pass right then.  Still not a good thing but I think people are trying to find reasons to label him scared or soft.  Frankly we don't know if he is or not because like I said before we have no way of knowing what's going on in his head.

Nice try...........who was he trying to block on a pass play?  Fleener was open as soon as the ball was snapped all the way till the ball smacked him.  As soon as he was open he should of looked at the QB................again nice try.

  6. Possible, but I can't get in his head, so in not going to throw poop at the wall.

All you had to do was watch the replay...........his eyes were on defenders not on his QB.  I guess he would of turned and looked for the ball when no defender was around.....or in this case when the ball hits you in the head.

  7. So,he is timid because he was stupid and didn't turn around for the ball? I've seen that many times in the nfl. Dumb, but it happens.

Defenders hack at the ball on anyone. I guarantee you the did to Adrian Peterson early in his career...and it wasn't because AD lacked toughness.

He didn't miss this game and he knee sprain sounds fairly minor. By your standards Gronk is a total wuss bag.

He did not know where the ball was because he never looked.  As soon as he was open 3 yards 4,5 and 6 he was open the whole time he never looked because he was looking at defenders who could possibly hit him.

I like Fleener but he is playing scared.

  8. I hope you are just kidding. Gimme a break I'm the punter and kicker because I'm good at it. I'd probably suck at lb or safety, doesn't make me not a football player.

If you can tackle like Pat that would be a good thing.

  9. My friend soccer was football before American football was a sport, and before you tick me off further... I am also a punter so does that make me a "football player"? I mean I have about 20 tackles as the punter over my 3 year career so far...

Real football players do not punt.  If you are such a good tackler then they would find a place on D for you.  No need to be offended.  You are just nota real football player.  Just kiddin.  Hell Pat is probably the best tackler on our special teams.

  10. This thread is actually a thread started on advocating the usage of the drill, and people have poured in giving their opinion on it. Kind of the entire point of a messageboard. To give people a place to share thoughts, opinions, and ideas. No one's scared I assure you.

You can think something is a bad idea without being afraid of it lol.

Wrong...these posters are afraid of players getting hurt.

  11. Yeah I'm not scared of either, hence why I've posted nothing for or against the "Oklahoma Drill." I'm not bothered by it either way, and understand both sides of the argument.

You would think that a guy like yourself who read the whole thread would know that. However, I do understand its much easier talking out of ones rear end, than to actually inform themselves :)

    K maybe er not a ...............

  12. "Tell us more."

    Are you unable to read?

And what exactly am I suppose to be scared of lol.

Scared?  The thread is regarding folks afraid of the Oklahoma drill.  Can you comprehend what I am saying?

  13. "Tell us more."

    Are you unable to read?

And what exactly am I suppose to be scared of lo

Scared of Oklahoma drill or football?  Did you not read the thread?  Posters are worried about injury due to this drill..........I get it you are just............

  14. I'm with you Snotknocker.  Loved the drill.  As a linebacker I always liked to practice taking on a blocker and tackling the ball carrier.  Just like in the games.  If you can't take on a blocker and win, why play defense?  If you don't like heavy contact, why play football?  Coaches know who they can count on after a few rounds of Oklahoma.

True that............at least you know what is up.  Were you scared like the posters in this thread?

  15. I am going to (due to the replies) assume most of the posters on here are young to very young.  The Oklahoma drill is "old school" and it gives the coach and players a lot of insight on what kind of man you are.

Football is a violent game and as a player you either enjoy the violence or you do not.  I bet Dick Butkus, Mike Curtis and Jack Lambert loved this drill and if you did not want to participate because you were afraid of an injury they would kick er * off the field.

I have no idea what happened to our youth, but these kids now a days are lazy, scared and do not resemble men.

These last few generations need to have a foot put in the * by a few good men.  Never mind my guess is they would run crying to mommy.

Its football you buttercups.........man up because soon you will have to.

  16. Ladies,

Would you like to win Super Bowls or be soft for another decade?  I want to win multiple Super Bowls and that is not going to happen if the Colts management believes as you that practicing football should not put players at risk.  The risk has to be taken to see who can tolerate the beating and pain.  The alternative is to wait until regular season and find out the fast, strong guy in shorts who looked good can not get off a block or take a hit from a NFL player.

You can not build a monster with this logic.  Thank god you guys sit behind a desk and wine all day.  Please shut your pie whole and at least pretend you are a man. (smh)

  17. you know what they say about he who toots his horn the loudest...

Not tooting loud.............just tooting like any football player would.  Shakedown to Pagano I do not want to this drill I might get hurt.

  18. I guess I will be one of the few men to post in this thread. Oklahoma is a great drill.  This drill is practice for what happens on most every play in every game.

The guy with the ball and the blocker have the advantage.  As a defender if you are unable to shed the blocker and take on the guy with the ball in the whole then you at least have to stand the blocker up and push him into the ball carrier.

This is a safe drill as there are no double teams (blocking) or other players to fall into your legs.

The posters on here that do not like this drill because they feel it is not safe would not like the real Oklahoma drill.

This drill weeds out the men from the boys.

  19. Argument for the Colts should include where the Colts have upgraded this year?

RB The Colts added a couple of running backs...... one with a SB Ring (Bradshaw) who is a very capable runner, receiver and blocker. Gotta love the attitude Bradshaw brings to the offense. Kerwynn will give the Colts a huge threat coming out of the backfield.

QB Adding MH upgrades the talent at the QB position.  Luck has a full year under his belt and a full Training Camp and OTA's this year.  Luck was also able to spend time in the off season with his weapons.  I expect a huge jump in Luck from year 1 to 2.

WR We are better at the position with the addition of DHB and the youngers guys (Brazil,TY,) having another year under their belt.  Who ever makes the roster Whalen or Palmer definitely upgrades the position from last year.

TE This is another area where I believe the Colts have improved.  Fleener was not himself last year (injured rookie) and I believe he will be a major contributor.  There is evidence that Fleener will be a better player this year.  Allen who had a good year will only be better.  Justice is an upgrade over Saunders.

O-Line The O-Line has no where to go but up.  The additions of the veterans GC and DT along with the rookies KH and HT give us a much better chance of keeping Luck clean and the ability to run the ball.

D-line We are bigger and stronger up front and have the type of players needed to play the positions.  Not only was the D-line upgraded there is also depth.

LBs Again we have guys now who know this defense and have the size and strength to play the position.  Mathis moving to the rush backer and Walden having the skills to stop the run is a major upgrade over Freeny and Mathis.  Freeman in his second year and all the depth only helps.

DB Our secondary may be the most upgraded group of the team.  We now have a legitimate  secondary with a 2 pro bowl safety and 2 corners who can play man to man.  I love Butler as the nickel.

Grigson has upgraded every position on the team.  I believe this being the second year in the 3-4 also helps.  As far as the new offense...........much more efficient then the chuck it down the field philosophy.

We are a much better team then we were last year and I expect it will show early on.
