With the corner position being so deep this year in free agency I'm starting to wonder if we still draft/need to draft a corner. I know Banks and Rhodes are good players and I would like to get either one, but if we get a starting caliber coner through freeagency would you all still want to get rhodes or banks if they fall to us in the draft??
-
I already know everybody is going to say no. But don't be blind on the production Adam "Pacman" Jones had this season and he could be an option in free agency. As a nickel back and potential starter if an injury just so happens to occur to one of our starting corners
"Jones allowed just 400 yards on 66 passes that were thrown his way during the regular season. He also allowed just two touchdowns and one reception every 11.6 snaps in coverage. With 9 pass defensed"
His off the field stuff seem to be behind him and I would take him over a Mike Jenkins. 2-3 year deal at the most.
No ill pass..and i would take Jenkins over him any day. JMO

Really don't see how a team is going to give up a 2, 3 and a 5 for a late 1st round pick.
I wonder the same thing...but I would like us to also resign Fokou, and I am almost certain Cyprien will go in the first two rounds. He's high on scouts boards after the Senior Bowl. I've even seen some mocks with him going in the first.
-
I like it, but instead of two corners how about we switch Cason out with a tackle? Also, I am almost certain we will add another WR either in free agency or the draft..Especially since you don't have us resigning Avery.
-
I recently saw a mock where we picked up Jarvis Jones in the 1st and Robert Woods in the 3rd... Any objections? I would love this myself, but i know some may not want either?
Now that would be a Dream Draft! Even if we can land just Jarvis Jones i'll be more than happy.
-
Thats creative, but dont want any of those players...maybe Bowe..
-
He flat doesn't fit our man coverage scheme.
Agreed!
-
My top three in order would be chance warmack, jarvis jones then dee milliner.

Its easier to just write a book lol jk

You don't need to deal with his 'you know what' if he kicks off, nor the fall-out and effect in the dressing room, or the waste of cap space that will haunt us for years, or the deterimental affect on the team, and when they spiral downwards and out of contention by the Bye Week, you won't lose your job, end up having your house reposessed, losing your wife and your children hating you for the rest of your life. So it's easy to say 'I'd give him a shot' sitting behind the safety of your computer screen......leave him well alone I tell you!
PS - may have got carried away a little bit there.....
Yea this whole post make NO SENSE...and ps u r sitting behind a screen just like I am genius.
-
No, it's because Milliner is a top 10-5 talent and Rhodes is a fringe first rounder. Your statement was just too wrong to even reason with.
Yea I like Rhodes too....just not as much as Milliner. Milliner is just a more complete corner IMO.

I find it funny how every single FA player comes with the label of "headache, cancer, injury-prone or X player is already better."
Majority of this forum was against us bringing in Davis, but look how that turned out. Wasn't Davis a "headache" for Miami, but turned it around with us? Most FA players are hard to deal with because the team they are on typically is bad.
Randy Moss proved that when he went to a great team, you can and do change for the better. Harvin only missed a few games for the first time ever this season, and I haven't heard anything about migraine issues keeping him off the field. I'm not saying BRING IN HARVIN, OMG THAT'S SUPER BOWL WIN GUARANTEED DERP! I am saying though he's worth a look, and I don't think he'd bring any attitude issues or locker room problems, especially with a team like Indy who is poised to make the playoffs and further for a long time now. Pagano and Grigson wouldn't allow him to be an issue.
I AGREE with you on that statement! Most people on this fourum always find something to nitpick about in regards to FA's and signing players. Like you said.. exactly as they did about Vontae Davis. I for one love Percy Harvin's game and play making ability and would be willing to give him a shot. I believe a change in scenery can do wonders for a guy along with strong leadership from the coaches and players.
Now with that said the only thing I dont like in regards to Harvin is the huge salary he will comand come next offseason.
Thats just my two cents.

I like the draft and the free agency..I do like the Rhodes and Rambo picks, I would be satisfied with those. I like Rhodes man to man cover abliity, and I think Rambo is one of the best safeties in the draft.
-
How to use Jerry Hughes...hmmmm how about in a trade to aquire more draft picks or a trade for a better player??
-
He's quite stoppable if the QB doesn't have time to get him the ball because he's under constant duress.
Well that sure didnt happen all of last year...
-
Thats interesting. They have Matt Elam rated lower than i expected, and Eric Ried as the second best safety. I still like Rhodes though.
-
I hope the Colts won't consider either. WR is the least of our worries.
Disagree.
-
Mannn I would love for us to get Harvin! He is probably the most versital player in the leauge..the guy can do everything AND do It well! the guy played WR, RB, KR and PR.. a special talent and a big time threat everytime he touches the ball. Get em Grigs!

hmm Calvin great butter unstoppable is an false his break out year in 2011-12 season was due to lack of preparation for defenses during through lockout people weren't in shape second 2012-2013 yeah be broke jerry rice's record yet scored only 5 touchdowns Hilton scored more than him that being said Calvin was completely shutdown in the redzone and also dropped a couple tds.
lol the last two seasons he has been unstopable! He broke jerry rice's record! A record that stood for a long time, and one that many thought wouldnt be broken. You mentioned "yet he only scored 5 td's" and he got shut down in the redzone....hmmm I would Imagine it would be VERY diificult to score in such a small area when your being doubled in trippled teamed dont ya think?? Not to mention he is really the only Legitimate threat on that Lions team, so he is doubled and trippled team for about 95% of the game. And please don't even put him and TY in the sentence bc him scoring more td's is relevant when you look at the overall production and amount of coverage Calvin has to beat just to make one catch. Lastly, you said he dropped a couple tds yeah he did but telll me person who hasnt dropped a td pass..(TY surely did)

Revis also doesn't make certain Tackles in the Run Game. Him & Cromartie be afraid of Contact when it comes to RB's
I disagree. Revis is the most physical corner out there! not to mention prob the strongest also. He is a COMPLETE corner in the run and pass game. Cromartie on the other hand is different.
-
He is in no way better than Revis. Webb is debatable.
Agreed. He is not better than Revis.
But my pick would be Calvin Johnson..the guy is just UNSTOPABLE!! (AP is a well)

well honestly we are stacked at "receivers" we have Ty and reggie at wr..haven seen much of brazil yet but I'm sure he'll produce..and we've drafted the two top tightends of last years draft who can also catch as good as any other wr we have (ofc not reggie) wco will use more tightend formations anyway so until reggie Wayne is fully on his way out no need for a big named wr we're fine STAY FOCUSED ON THE OFFENSIVE LINE!!! >
I disagree. WR NEEDS to be addressed this offseason and I am almost certain it will. According to you we have two wr's who have proven anything, and one who you THINK will. Having two wr's is not going to cut it. Also, you mentioned that we drafted two TE's, while that is true only one of them (Allen) has proven to be a reliable target thus far. I do have confidence that Fleener will pan out though.
I for one just hope we can add another PROVEN and RELIABLE target unlike Avery was. JMO.

Colts Fan from DC right here!!!

I'd say the biggest problem with this prospect is that it's hard to know just how bad the competition is. It looks really, really poor.
So, if he's dominating, wouldn't you think he should? He might have great physical tools that just needs a year on the PS to refine and be brought up to speed.
Here's a nice write-up on the kid, the good and the bad, from a draft site I know nothing about, NFLmocks.com
http://nflmocks.com/2013/01/04/rontez-miles-2013-nfl-draft-scouting-report/
Based on tools alone, I'd give him a 7th round grade, but he still might not get drafted. If he tests well -- and he might, then maybe he climbs to a 6. But I don't see him going higher than that. Doesn't mean he won't. Weird stuff can happen and it only takes one team to fall in love with you.....
They said he went to Kent State but got kicked out due to academics, but I would just love to see what this guy is capable of against real comp. I think he might be a good late round pick up..based of talent alone..JMO.

If we do go oline in the draft I'm starting to like the idea of DJ Fluker at guard or takel...If he does get moved to guard I think he will be an aboslute Beast/Mauler!
