  1. This could be a real steal for Grigson

I agree. he has long arms, good size. my only question is, can he block? I would think so if he had scholorship offers from Bama, Lsu and Ohio State. but who knows. but isn't 6'8 to tall to be a offensive lineman?

  2. I googled him and I found a college basketball player. Colts app said he signed as a tackle.

yes sir. he was basketball player. played for Georgia Tech. in high school he had football scholarships to LSU, Bama and Ohio State. so maybe he is good enough to fix our RT hole?

  3. You really believe Luck will sign a deal for 18.5 million a year? 130/7?

Wow. If that's really what you believe then you will be in for a big surprise.

No way the NFLPA allows that to happen. Even if he could, every player in the league would hate Andrew Luck for pulling a stunt like that.

although i agree with you, Luck isn't there to be the most popular or likable guy in the NFL. but yeah 18.5 a year is crazy. I can see 22.5 to 25 million a year. but 18 is just crazy.

  4. Bitter much?

(In before the thread is trashed)

I'm bitter, because we gave up a first rounder for a dud. I'm sure he could have been had for a 2nd rounder or 3rd rounder and grigson was quick in pulling the trigger instead of trying to negotiate. panic mode at it's finest. that being said our first rounder we gave to them for him is sitting in a rehab center right now. So i guess both were busts lol. still could have used that pick on a defensive player or offensive lineman.

  5. He does not deserve the big money contract. Not only does he not deserve it it would hurt the Colts more in the long run. Plus he never the super bowl yet so he does not deserve the elite money until he does.

aside from not going to a super bowl which is a team effort if i may add, name one reason why he is not 1) deserving of a big contract and 2) an elite quarterback?

  6. Since he has an architects degree, can you imagine the house he is going to have built?

Naaaa, just a Yurt and a flip phone with a serious stash of cash.

well at least he isn't like some dumb kids who come out of college and start blowing their money things he really does not need and then by the time they get out of the NFL they are filing for bankruptcy or are broke. Luck is a smart kid who will probably have his grand kids' futures set up lol

  7. I didn't want Suh or any of those top Dl men, But what did turn me against Langford signing was the whole 17 tackles 1 sack no tackles for loss in 16 games last season

he lost his starting job to a rookie, which is why he didn't have many tackles.

  8. Trent is appealing so that brings it down. But there is no consensus on what we have.

he can appeal all he wants. fact of the matter is he missed walk throughs the day before the AFC champ. game and was suspended for it. and there was also reports that the team had repeatedly tried to get a hold of him and he never answered his phone. then he comes out this week and says indy was not a fit for him. if i were the grievance arbitrator (whatever its called) I would see that as he purposely missed it which led to his suspension. so i am more then willing to bet that the motion will be denied and he wont win.

  9. I've never understood the "we should address XX before anything else".  Granted, Grigson is only one person, but I don't believe for a second that he's the only one making phone calls to player agents.  They can reach out to multiple players at a time so no, I don't think there's a specific position group that should be addressed before addressing other position groups.

Even with all that aside, if you look back carefully at the defense last year, when the offense was productive and able to maintain drives, the defense, more often than not, played extremely well.  They were looking like a top 5/10 defense during the first 1/3-1/2 of the year, and it was during that time that they were leading the league in Time of Possession by a pretty good margin.  The offense was able to maintain drives and methodically move the ball down the field.  This kept the defense very rested, and they were able to get a lot more 3 and outs.

IMO, our defense feeds off the offense far more than the offense feeds off the defense.

actually they were a top 10 defense for the first part of the year. then they ran into a road block in pittsburgh and it all fell apart. their weakness had been shown and that was running the ball down the colts throats. that is why i think we should sign Nick Fairly or Vince Wilfork. honestly we only need one more DLineman and a safety and we will look fine come draft time. Wilfork on the line and Kendrick Lewis on the other side of Adams at safety i think would be two good pick ups.

  10. I think the Patriots have beaten us worse than any other team has beaten any other team in the league the past three years.   Can anyone think of 2 teams who have played 3 consecutive times with such huge dominating wins by one team?

I can't think of anything even close and we have some rotten teams out there.  Additionally, remember that Indy has been 11-5 each year and aren't bottom dwellers which makes the devastating losses that much more inexplicable.  Everyone on the planet knew the Patriots were going to run it down our throats that last game and still they had their way with our D-Line and D-Coordinator and Andrew struggled the most of all 3 games.  It was miserable. That would be my response to your question.  Sorry I am not as succinct as you and others are.

you forgot to add that each of the last three seasons the colts have been moving deeper into the playoffs also.

Lucks 1st year - Wild Card Loss

    2nd years - divisional loss

3rd year - AFC championship game loss.

  11. with Wilford tweeting that the patriots was letting him go. I would try to go after him instead of Suh. I know everyone will think that this is crazy, I know that he is over 30, But he would be alot cheaper and I think that he still has a few years left in him. And we still need to sign several of our own players like  Luck, T.Y, Fleener, Allen, A.C. in the next year or 2.

i dont think its crazy. like you said, a lot cheaper and could probably lure McCourty to indy as well.

  12. Colts should offer up about 14 mil per season. Anything above that, we should pass. (5 years, 75 mil, 55 mil guaranteed) Pretty good deal in my book and he'll still be living in the Midwest and for a winning franchise that now has a great chance at a ring.

according to a tweet the dolphins are willing to sign suh at 6 yr for 102 million, they are determined to get him

  13. and i also heard we were favorites to land hardy the DE from carolina also. if this is true, Hardy, Suh, and Redding with Mathis and Werner coming off the edges our front 7 could look really good and be very improved. only issue with that is that will take a huge chunk out of our cap. and with the word of not resigning Wayne, we now have a hole at WR, our Oline, RB, and the Safety position.

    But a signing of

    Suh

    Hardy

McCourty would look really good on the defensive side of the ball, and our RB position could be fixed in the draft.

  14. So, tell me there's a HUGE difference in character between DBG and Da'Rick Rogers?? Before you start with how much better DBG is let me remind you that Rogers is ever bit as good, fast and tall, he just had his head stuck up his butt.

DBG is a problem, not one waiting to happen, but an already made problem. Lets not forget what he did to his girlfriend and threaten another, not a "Colt" type of guy IMO!!

honestly I don't care. if he can prove that he won't be a problem off the field and turns out to be a stud in the NFL then that warrants a huge contract after his rookie contract is up. that is what i love about the new contract rules that were put into place a couple of years for first rounders. there is a max size contract allowed for each pick and the colts picking 29th his contract would be lower or the same amount as kelvin benjamin signed this last year being the 28th pick. 4 years at 7.6 million with 6.1 million guaranteed and a 3.8 million dollar signing bonus. it is really not a lot for a kid who could be really good in the NFL. i see no harm in a contract of that size and then I believe the colts are allowed to also a stipulation in his contract about domestic abuse if he is involved his contract can be voided ( not sure on it )

  15. As much as I want a defensive player in the 1st, I guess I would be happy with this. I think DGB and Coleman are going to be stars, and I see a lot of potential in Derron Smith at FS too. Smith has the playmaking ability to be a really good FS IMO. I like Gaines a lot too. He'd be a good number 4 CB this season, and hopefully he'd develop into at least a good number 3. I like the Havenstein pick too. I do wonder if he'll stick at RT in though. He may have to be kicked inside because I don't know if he can handle some of the superstar edge rushers.

yeah i was curious on if Havenstein could handle blocking JJ Watt or not. he is probably better suited at RG, which is fine because we need someone there also. But if some way some how we were able to land DGB, Coleman and Smith in our first three rounds i could see that being a big win for us.

  16. I did a mock draft thing on a website that i have used the last couple of years for fun and it grades your picks for each round, and this is how i faired......thought i did quite well, considering i didn't make any trades lol
