  1. darn, kid is on pace for something like 4600 yards which would shatter the rookie record, has a 2-14 team gutted from last year sitting at 7-4 and people still aren't happy? If Brady had those stats his rookie season I would be doing back flips. You should head over to the Pats board...nothing but praise for the guy. Even though the loss was ugly we are all hoping to have a replacement like that for Brady (not sure what we have with Mallett).

What I'm seeing here, just a perspective from an outside fan, the ones criticizing Luck with no base seem to be Manning-fans who are just bitter.

I'll tell ya what, once Manning loses in the playoffs again, the bandwagon will be filling back up.

  2. Gotten really off topic but I don't know how you can say Brady isn't playing the best football of any QB right now. He has been on fire. The whole schedule thing is meaningless. The Broncos beat the chiefs 14-9, does that mean since it was the Chiefs we should think lesser of Mannings stats for that game? No. Divisional games are always ridiculously tough. The Patriots have only blown out 1 divisional opponent. Look back to the Colts over the years, even though statistically they were superior to the Jags, Texans, or Titans, those games would sometimes be really close, even with the Colts losing.

I'm not saying Brady will win MVP but no one is putting him in the race. It's been AP vs. Manning. Since the loss @ Seattle (week 6), 14 TDs 0 ints 1454 yards, 64.2% , 117.8 rating, 5-0. Best in the NFL.

Even for the season, he has the most total TDs (24 passing, 3 rushing), least turnovers of any QB, 4 total turnovers (3 ints, 1 fumble), the list goes on. Right now it's probably 1. Brady 2. Manning 3. AP/CJ

  3. Ruksak, I respect you & I will readily admit that for me this move is designed more on chemistry & emotion vs reason & logic. I have seen all I need to see on Smith; He's never going to lead the 49ers to the Lombardi Promiseland. He just doesn't have it. Sorry. I ride with Kaepernic. The only move left.

He almost did last season didn't he? Two costly fumbles by the 49ers was the difference and Alex was in no way at fault for that. Both defenses played lights out.

  4. Outdoing isn't always related to statistics. It's about winning. So yes, by looking at the wins Brady has outdone Peyton, but so has Peyton in the AFCCG. Eli has outdone Brady twice by being more clutch than Brady, thus beating him at something Brady is supposed to be the best at.

Are you forgetting the 2003 AFCCG? They are 1-1 head to head and Brady is 2-1 in the playoffs. Eli is considered more clutch because the Patriots defense sucks?

  5. I hate to agree but you have a point there. I prefer not to live through Eli myself. Of course he has the Pats number for some reason. It must be in the Patriots contract with the devil?

Most pats fans hate Eli but I like him a lot. In the big game, he's just on an entirely different level. It's something that Peyton lacks. When the game is on the line, all the pressure, Eli just pulls through.

  6. For a rookie he played like a rookie. I think what was more surprising was the defense. No pressure whatsoever. Both our starting guards were out. Lots of poor tackling as well, a lot of extra yards after contact. Think back to the Manning days and how Brady never lit it up that much because Mathis and Freeney would constantly be in his face. That was with a better Pats O line too. I expected Brady to be pressured much more but I was surprised. Freeney is laughing all the way to the bank ($$$)
