I don't think it's a terrible pick. The Colts are in danger of losing a bunch of weapons next season. Not to mention, if you shut down T.Y., the Colts offense struggles. To me, this looks like the Colts are going all in this season. There's a lot of talent at the WR/TE/RB position. The unfortunate part is a lot of that talent will be a year older or possibly gone next year (Gore, Johnson). I think T.Y. will get re-signed though. He's young and not even in his prime yet.

Regardless of the outcome of this investigation, it's extremely embarrassing for the organization and the fans. If the intent was to cheat, I am in favor of the NFL coming down hard. I just don't understand why. Maybe it's about getting every competitive advantage possible or crossing a thin line when it comes to rules. But at the same time, I'm still waiting for the full outcome. Whether it was intentional (not denying it wasn't), who was responsible, and the referees roles in this. And I'll be the first to apologize as a fan to the Colts organization and their fans. Again, I will wait until all the gritty details are released.

Part of it is fans get spoiled. I mean you guys have a 15 + year franchise QB who reached the AFCCG in his 3rd season. That's incredible.
-
You can still build a strong team with your QB making tons of money. You just can't plug in free agents anymore and hope it works. Like someone else said, there's less room for error.
Grigson has done a pretty good job so far.

What you're going to see after this is a horde of "Broncos fans" jumping back on to the Colts bandwagon :yay:
-
I don't think NE is a lock for the #1 seed yet. They have 4 difficult games coming up where the Broncos and Colts have an easier path. I could see NE losing to Green Bay, Detroit, or San Diego.

There are some NFC teams right now on par with the pats, GB, Arizona, and possibly Dallas. The Chiefs are hot too

Swearinger talks a lot. Watch the Hard Knocks episode when the Falcons practice against the Texans

Eh, in those two games with the ball in his hands at the end of the game, he was able to move the chains and run the clock out without having to give the ball back to the other team (and leave it in the hands of his defense, which has generally produced disastrous results for Manning-led teams).
Against the Chargers he led a drive in the 4th quarter to pretty much put the game out of reach for the Chargers (and even then the Broncos D and ST tried their best to choke the game away). His only mistake was a pass that bounced off the chest of Decker in the end zone.
Against the Pats it was pretty much open season on the defense, played very well IMO from start to finish. On one of his FG drives was a pass Julius Thomas couldn't hang onto in the 4th quarter, and because they had to settle for a FG it kept a tiny little pulse in the Pats).
Actually my bad I thought you meant 2006 (I was reading about LT). I agree with you. Peyton played very well against the Chargers and Patriots.
-
I remember that year thinking "If the Chargers get to play the Colts in the playoffs how many rushing yards will LT (who had a year for the ages that season) put up against that abomination they call a rushing defense in Indy?"
Thanks to Marlon McCree I never got to see that chance...
And you're seeing the line "Peyton doesn't win in big games" pop up across the board tonight. Then what were the previous two games leading up to the Super Bowl (including a showdown with Godzilla Tom Brady and his 3-ringed monster)? Meaningless preseason games?
Manning did not play well in those 2 games (wc and divisonal) leading up to the SB. The defense played lights out. He did play very well against the Patriots in the second half. One of the best performances I've seem by him.

hmm... did you actually read the story or just the headline? The flight attendant asked him to take his headphones off. He didn't hear the request (he had headphones on...). The flight attendant then unplugged them, ripped them from his head, and threw them on the ground. He was photographed leaving the plane. He then spoke to police, by his own request, and was released with no charges what so ever.
You twist things to benefit your own opinion quite a bit.

Another witness said he wouldn't get off his phone
who knows

Probably a couple. Luck is the best young QB no doubt. Depends if he can have a solid team around him like Wilson/Kap/Newton.

A big reason the Pats ran the ball is because they are missing all their big redzone targets. A year ago it was Gronk, Welker, and Hernandez. Dobson is out and KT left with an injury. So the stats are definitely skewed as opposed to if the Pats still had those guys.

I have no idea where you pulled that entitled/Eli stuff from...sounds like a load of b.s. It's a very emotional game. Quarterbacks show emotion differently. Brady can get pretty emotional. Happened a lot this year. Seems like this has more to do with the Colts/Chargers rivalry. This board pretty much hates Rivers/Brees so I'm not surprised.

The great thing is, if the pats lose you won't be back until September.
That's true

should be an easy victory next week for the Pats
edit: I'll have to update my sig too

Yeah if the Broncos win the SB. There will be the whole "Colts should have kept Peyton" thing circulating around... just how the media works.

Don't know off the top of my head, but it seems to be a wash. Pats/Jets played each other 3 times in 2010 and the Jets ended up with the W on the 3rd game (after losing to the Pats 45-3 in the previous game).
In 2007 the Cowboys swept the Giants in the regular season, got the #1 seed, and ended up losing to the Giants at home come playoff time.
2008 the Eagles and Giants split season series IIRC, Giants as #1 seed lose to WC Eagles at home.
2010 Packers and Bears played 3 times, splitting season series and then Packers winning 3rd game to go to Super Bowl.
2006 Eagles and Giants split season series, Eagles beat Giants in 3rd meeting.
2006 Patriots and Jets split season series, Pats beat Jets in WC game.
2009 Cowboys and Eagles played all 3 times, Cowboys won all 3 games
Didn't the Jaguars or someone go like 14-2, losing both games to the Titans and then losing their third game to the Titans again in the playoffs back in the 90s?
Yup that last one is mind blowing. Losing all 3 games to the same team...
-
Patriots fans are rooting for the Chargers for home field. Not because Peyton might kill them lol. I'd love for the Pats to go into Denver. Brady is 9-0 against Del Rio's defenses.
-
Brady/Luck is interesting because they both have a strong following in the Bay Area. Brady being from here and Luck going to school here.

It could also be that Grigson has his eye on a couple of defenders in the second or third, or his guy was taken already so he went BPA.
