Why not both?
That's ideal and we already have the explosive guys. A tall guy would be nice and we already have that in Moncrief....I know, he's not CJ's size but he's still big. We're not going to get a WR like CJ so we might as well talk more realistically.
-
No, what they need is a fast-twitch, short stride receiver (or two, or three) who's good in space and can get open on the short to intermediate routes when facing man coverage. We need to get first downs and score when in the red zone.
Screw the whole "explosive, big play", blah blah receiver. That's great and all but it doesn't win games, especially when he's removed from the game due to double coverage.

......... Umm......
It was a joke. Calm down.
-
What a lightweight....
.088 and you're swerving? I'd cut him just so he can learn how to drink like a man.
-
Patriots are going to pick him up and he'll destroy us.
Just watch.
-
That's a big man at full speed.....poor little corner.
-
The play by Anderson stuck out immediately when I read his comment....but overall, it was a very good game played by the defense and apart from that play and perhaps one other, the tackling was superb.

Reminds me a lot about the Baltimore team (I think) from 6-8 years ago that player poorly the 2nd half of the season then got hot when it mattered.
That was the Baltimore Ravens of 2012.
-
Nothing new.....already threads on this.

I didn't read through the whole thread, but I'm glad that Rhodes is getting some credit for '06. He and AV absolutely CARRIED the Colts to victory in the Baltimore playoff game. Say what you will about him or that team as a whole, but Rhodes has never gotten enough credit on this or other forums.
I've said it before on this forum--Rhodes is one of my all time favorite Colts and the true MVP of the SB.

I was watching and I sadly nodded my head when he said that. I wish it wasn't correct but the team is soft and I don't understand how anyone can be afraid to play them next week.
Prove me wrong, Colts. Transform into that team you should be by now and beat the crap out of whoever comes to town.
-
How was that an "all around performance?" We must've been watching different games.
-
Not very confident between injuries, poor play-calling, poor line play, and the general inability to move the ball consistently and effectively.
-
The Colts are not a good team and anyone who thinks they have a chance in the playoffs is fooling themselves.
-
We're not a good team.
Unfortunately, this isn't news, nor should we be surprised. We're just not there yet.
-
After this crap, I'd consider him.
-
Did anyone else see Holmes at center or am I seeing things?
-
I said the Colts should ONLY go for the 2 pt conversion before they were even at center field on the scoring drive. It was the only sensible call in that situation and the fact that they went for it without hesitation proves that. It was a * poor play call, though.....that's for sure.

Just heard from a mutual friend of mine and Reitz's (not kidding) that he's got a high ankle sprain. He was over at his house last night after Joe got back from a Dr. appointment. Should be 3 weeks or so.

My thought:
The offensive play calling sucked today. The Cleveland secondary was playing out of their minds and ruining our pass game. We ran the ball effectively and just abandoned it.....we weren't down by enough points to just abandon a rare effective run game. Even though we won the game today (which I'm very thankful for) I'm just not pleased about the play calling today. Run the ball on 1st and second, throw in some play action and let that good, disciplined Cleveland secondary start to hesitate.....there were definitely some points left out on the field today.
Good job defense, you guys played tough.

I already posted a thread about this after the game.
Like previously stated, he was in on jumbo sets. I saw him on the sidelines prior to kickoff and watched him and the rest of the line like a hawk. He looked good.
-
I watched Phillips closely. He looked good, powerful and fast but didn't really didn't make any significant plays. Colt was throwing all over the defense by the time he entered the game.
-
Shipley did in fact play on KOR today. I didn't see him take any snaps on the OL.
-
Boom runs the ball: Crowd reaction = BOOOOOMMMMM
Trent runs the ball: Crowd reaction = BOOOOOOO
It was a rather consistent pattern today.
