  1. If they were his own prescriptions then you might have a point.

    ;)

They likely were. (His that is, not empty)

There's a archived story floating around IndyStar from 2002 (They seen fit to dig it up now, apparently.) where Irsay was getting 100's of scripts written for him by the same doctor. Would bet anything that's the case again.

The idea that Irsay is out there selling drugs is ridiculous. Not impossible.. Rich people do far worse for the "thrill". But still, ridiculous. Not saying it shouldn't be looked into. When you have a good amount of drugs and a large amount of money in the same place - It's common sense to do your due.

There's also many other reasons a person would carry around cash and for those that can, large amounts of it. I can think of a whole host of reasons you would want to spend cash and not use a traceable Credit/Debit card. Paying off a doctor who writes you fraudulent scripts might be one of those. Hotels. Discrete dinners. Champagne rooms. Selling drugs for a guy in Irsay's position would be my last guess.

  2. 1) There is no puzzle. This was the point I was making. You are making this out to be a huge deal; you are not just discussing the facts of the star. You are making up every extreme negative hypothetical situation that couldve occured.

    2) You seem to be a fairly intelligent guy. I am sure you have the reading comprehension of a 14 year old.

"I would like to know what kind of bars he was purchasing with 29k. He sure wasn't after Valiums or Percosets for that kind of money. You can sit there and assume all you want. If he had a bill or even a stack on him then perhaps. But 29k? On no street does pain killers run you that kind of money. Maybe he was chasing the rare ludes. Maybe.. Jim Irsay is the Wolf of West 56th Street."

Without knowing about the specific drugs he mentioned, it is fair to assume that what he is saying is, "the 29k is overkill when it comes to purchasing the relatively low cost drugs Jim Irsay was caught with."

So when you say, "oh you are an expert on how to obtain drugs and how much they costs" it helps confirm my opinion that you are just here to bash the colts and I guess some of their fans too. Playing dumb and saying you didnt understand his post because "hes an expert on obtaining drugs" is just insulting to think anyone here is stupid enough to buy that.

Doesn't bother me one bit to see the bitter judging the life of another whilst they have not lived one themselves outside of the online newspapers from many areas other than their own. Seems.. Irrational.

  3. Obviously, the facts will come out in court . He has already admitted to the problem, so it's not a tremendous leap to believe he was using cash to get the prescription drugs. No one is going to use a credit card, or be going to Rite Aid to get them. Whatever the circumstances, it doesn't change the fact that he's been a good owner to you guys , and everyone wants to give him another chance, and wants him to recover. The problem is the enabling crowd on this forum , that makes excuses for these actions. Jim needs to own up to this problem, and beat it. Most people, even billionaires , don't keep 29 K around the car to buy chicken nuggets. The other thing yet to come out that could cause trouble , is who wrote these prescriptions. As we've seen previously with Elvis and Michael Jackson, there is usually some kind of quack doctor involved. These charges may well be lowered or dropped, but they are still serious and should not be made light of. The man does deserve his day in court to present his side, no doubt b

Leave it to a Ravens fan.

He's buying illegal drugs? Oh, no, he's being fraudulently prescribed them? Make up your mind.

  4. My point is to just look at some other opinions outside the Indy Sphere of Influence.

I think until recently he had a very good image with fans around the league. I believe his tweeting and controversial comments have conjured up visions of the old man. I'm not saying it's a fair comparison , because Jim is a thousand times the owner his father was , but when many hear the name Irsay, unfortunately Bob does come to mind. I've said previously he should get a PR guy.

What for? He comes out and says what every other fan is thinking. GOOD. Sounds like a good owner to me! The whole Peyton thing was twisted and used to build hype. They had clips of that at least a week before they decided to cut it up and air it for ratings. Peyton knows what Irsay thinks of him and that's all that matters. All we hear is RINGS RINGS RINGS in every argument opposing posters make, then to see those same people turn around and blast Irsay for saying all the regular season success and just making the playoffs wasn't enough - It shows you the mindset and hypocritical attitude of you trolls.

  5. I'm not building any case , just responding to posters that disagree with my points. My two main criticisms are the goofy tweets , and the premeditated jab at Baltimore with the Mayflower truck. If you liked it fine , I just didn't think it was that cool.

Yet you're sitting around trying to define JIM Irsay's legacy to us.

  6. No, I don't care about that. I'm just saying be a little humble. Don't make ill-timed Ed Reed jokes on twitter when the guy gets cut , or put toy Mayflower vans in your museum, when you were co-ordinating operations from the Owings Mills Complex, or going with Chernoff to Indy, during that time . Maybe you had to move, but you would actually put a toy Mayflower van in your museum ? You were proud of that ? You going to actually put that in with your Jack Karouac manuscripts ? Like with the Manning episode, it just seems like he rubs salt in wounds. That is the humble part.

I'm glad he does all that. It makes butt-hurt old Baltimore fans cry. I consider that a good part of Jim's legacy.

I've never met fans like Colts fans. They're really corny and give me a soccer mom type of vibe. They have an eternal 'good guy' complex and believe that their good will triumph over any challenge. Because of the luck they've had with QBs since Peyton, they kind of believe in some mystical aura that will bring them good fortune. They love the fact that the horseshoe is a symbol of good luck and they have a guy named Luck for a QB (who is just as corny as they are).

It's all very annoying. Please stomp them.

That was awesome. Almost wanted to go over to their forums and make an account just to +1 it.

  8. It does make you wonder what goes through a guy's mind before he does something like that. What rationalization do they use to make this behavior seem like a good idea at the time?

Something like this: I'm young, strong, viral, & invincible baby. Look honey, who wouldn't want be with me? It's a little late to want to sow your wild oats on your wedding night man. Does a 1 woman commitment scare you to death?

Noticing a woman is attractive is 1 thing; Sending her an intimate high definition picture of your private parts on your wedding night definitely crosses a line that should never be crossed IMO. It must be a lack of blood flow to the brain or you're not thinking with the right anatomy part anyway. JMO.  Use your brain that thing above your neck not below your waist south of the border RG3.

You seldom see woman take intimate pictures of themselves & send them to another individual they barely know. Yes, sometimes intoxicated females have been known to do this occasionally I suppose, but not to the level of male athletes, celebrities, & politicians it seems.

*Checks his phone* You sure about that?

The only surprise here is that it doesn't come out more commonly about more athletes or anyone with any sort of fame actually.

  9. I had heard Polian in an interview mention before the only reason Manning was placed on the PUP was to avoid the media hounding him and the rest of the team daily about his status.

This is straight from Manning's mouth:

On how he feels about his timetable to get back on the football field:

"I am very anxious to get back on the field, and part of the reason that Bill and Coach Caldwell decided to put me on PUP was to prevent the question of whether or not I would be able to practice from being a daily occurrence. I will be able to concentrate on rehab for a period of time, and we will gage my health on a weekly basis to see how I am coming along. That route made the most sense to me, but am I anxious, absolutely."

  10. How do you figure? GB probably wouldn't have even got the ball back if we were aware of the onside. I think the show I heard it on was Tony Bruno broadcasted at night on 1260 AM.I listen to so many I can't be sure on that one.

GB most likely wouldn't have even scored the TD to tie the game if not given that 30 yards. Harrell wasn't doing much up to that point.

Either way. The final means nothing. Yea, our ST's have defended onside kicks horribly for some time now. No, our unit didn't look prepared for it. I almost got the feeling Jim didn't care at that point and just wanted the game to end.

All the positives last night and we're hung up on the final 2 minutes of a meaningless game.

  11. Like I said, it would have been a crime for him to blow the TD to Reggie. You can't credit Painter for that one 1/10 as much as you can the Packers blowing the coverage.

The TD to Brooks was good. No argument from me.

    No picks is good.

But his completion percentage was below 50%, and some of the passes he missed were pretty ugly.

Actually it was over 50% (11/21) with a drop by both Wayne and Garçon.

  12. I will also be watching Painter. I want to see what Wayne sees in him.

I want to see if Wayne backs up his talk. If he lays himself out for a catch.. Tries to make the big play.. Or if he just 'ho hums' it like every other preseason game.

I'm pulling for Painter. This is likely his going away party. Not saying he's going to be cut but not likely to be the backup next year. If he can't shake his fear with nothing left to lose - he never will.

More specifically. I'll be watching the OLine, this will really be a real test for them top to bottom. I'll be watching our DLine, they too should get a real test against that hurry up O. I'm excited to see or LB play. I've heard Bracket may not play which would mean Connor, Angerer at MLB and Simms. That excites me.
