well how would you feel if you were playing behind two pro bowlers for three years then finally one of them leaves or might leave and then they bring in someone else to fill the spot instead of you
Who cares how he feels, who cares where he was drafted. You compete for your job in the NFL, if someone comes in a takes it from you, too bad.
Im sure Matt Flynn didnt feel all that great when Russel Wilson took his job either, but seemed to work out ok for the team. The Colts need to do what is best for them to win, not worry about if they will hurt a players feelings.

Ed Reed is old and would most likely cost a lot. Imo not the best value to spend the free agency money. What do I know though.

People HAVE to STOP with that "Easy Schedule" nonsense. Our ENTIRE Division plays the SAME TEAMS we do (aside from 2). So why is no one saying the Texans had it "Easy"????
Those two addiitoanl teams the Texans played are the #1 and #4 seeds in the AFC. That right there alone makes their schedule quite a bit harder.
Eithe way, we are 11-5 despite what anyone thinks. A very easy schedule doesnt really matter, 11 wins is 11 wins.

Pretty sure it means Joe Webb is starting for the Colts too.

Honestly..... Money can't replace what this organization has built this year. It's been...... words can't even describe what this season was
Please, its more than just the money. He strives to be a head coach. Who could blame him for leaving? Why would anyone with any type of career aspirations turn down the chance to move up?
-
Hope JJ Watt, Arian Foster, and Andre Johnson forget what time the game starts.
Honestly i just hope Luck dosnt get killed with their pass rush and our putrid offensive line.
-
Too early to tell. Let's focus on the Titans 1st. Take it one game at a Time
The fans can focus on whatever they want, its not like we fans are game planning for Tennessee. The players cant look past an opponent, the fans can do whatever they want. Kinda silly imo lol.
Now to the question, can the Colts beat the Texans? Sure anything can happen. Indy only win one of the games with Houston if Houston either has a meltdown or rest a bunch of players. They are just way more talented at pretty much every position.

Im heading up to the game.

facepalm
That is pretty much the same reaction everyone else got from all of your posts in this thread.

I'm not upset at the fact that he's been there for a long time and he's cut, I'm upset and calling it "not classy" because they did it the night before a game.
Who cares if it is before a game? So it would be better for them to do it Monday instead?
No one on here would give two rips if this was any other team. I guess you should send a memo to all NFL teams and let them know when the appropropriate time to release a player is. That and make them aware that your tenure on the team makes it not ok to do so before a game day.
Ridiculous.
People on here were talkiing how classless it was for Irsay to let Manning go and that they would never be Colts fans again, wonder how many of those folks are posting here again? Seems like it turned out to be a pretty good decision and Manning was a far bigger piece to the colts history than Branch. Although it wasnt before game day lol.

It's because Peyton can place balls where Brady cannot. Threading the needle.
That is absurd, you dont win that much not being able to make any NFL throw.
-
I disagree. I don't think any QB does it on purpose. If it happens, it happens. But I don't think Peyton would lead the WRs to places where they could take huge hits.
I dont think he intentionally tried to get people into bad situations, but he did do it quite a bit. I was watching the Bronco vs 49ers game Sunday and he threw pass out there where a WR got creamed by two guys. The guy had no shot at not being demolished if he caught the ball.

I hope Collie makes a full recovery and does what is best for his family from then on.

IMO, wearing a Colts Manning jersery is fine.....
...wearing a Broncos Manning jersey is lame.
+1 you are pathetic if you are wearing a Broncos jersey to the Colts game. Just proves who is a Colts fan and who is a Peyton fan.

I find it hard to take the NBA seriously. Any league that has different rules for different players, and at different times of the game is just plain ridiculous IMHO. Plus, their regular season is like pro wrestling, almost meaningless. The teams play a different game in the playoffs.
So, to answer your question, the Colts do better next year simply because the league is relevant.
The NFL has different rules for different players. You dont think guys like Brady, Manning, Brees dont get more calls than guys like Fitspatrick, Sanchez, Vick, Gabbart, etc? Yeah ok lol.
With that being said, of course the Pacers are going to have a better season. They will have a higher win pct, make the playoffs, and have a chance of being back in the conference semi finals and if they get a good draw and done see miami earlier, the eastern conf finals.
The Colts have zero shot to get to the afc champ game, almost no shot at making it past the first round of the playoffs, and I would be stunned if they are close to .500 or make the playoffs at all.
-
Lol yeah I swear the pats are like a resentful lil brother that always gotta out do or try to take wverything you have and had to get under your skin
Little brother? Yeah ok lol and Im a colts fan.

I'm going with Jacksonville.
I cant believe all these so called "fans" are hoping for a high draft pick. I hope we draft in the 20's. That will mean we are back much quicker than anyone thought.
Hoping we draft high is much different than having realistic expectations. I hope we draft in the 20s or 30s too, but what I said was there are worse things than having the 1st pick again next year. I dont think we are goign to be the worst team again, but I also dont think we are going to be anywhere near 7-9 wins like I have seen being thrown around on the forum. Not with what we lost and with changing the complete offense AND defense. Just too much change and turnover to go from a bad team to a .500 one
-
I want to win games but a second #1 pick isnt so bad. You could trade it and get a boatload with Barkley there.
There would be worse things.
-
I like our draft alot except for the last pick. I am not sure I would want a rookie backup with a rookie starter. Just seems kinda counter productive. They could have gotten another QB as an UFA if they wanted a young third stringer.
I would have rather taken Burfict at the last pick, he stays straight and you get tremendous value, if he messes up you cut him and lose almost nothing.
-
Nike has certainly upped the ante price wise. 100 bones for a screen printed one, yikes.
-
Cute story, but I say let him go. I just dont get it. Could have taken a flyer on Burfict. If he ends up doing something dumb, cut him you have nothing in him. If he can play, you get value.
With this pick you get nothing but a camp body unless Luck and Stanton go down that is, which god forbid happens.
-
I would tell the "mr irrelevant" people to pound sand with their trip and stupid mr irrelevant parade stuff. So dumb.
-
I dont mind getting him but why trade up to get him?
-
If he falls to the 4th I would take him too, the value would be tremendous. Sure we need other positions more, but its hard to pass on something like that.
Why The Colts will Win A SB Within 5 Years

I hope Baltimore cuts Boldin, he is a beast, would love him in Indy.
Oh and to those saying Flacco isnt elite, dude just won the SB while throwing 10 or so tds and zero picks. That is elite my friends. Manning has never done that.
