I think Andrew Luck and Aaron Rodgers have a lot in common, they both strike me as kinda goofy guys (If you haven't seen Rodgers' photobombs, do it), but with the respect to lead their teams
That just shows the kind of guy Rodgers is, and when he steps on the field I just think to myself: "This guy will get it done, no matter what happens". I tend to get the same feeling with Luck and Brady(sorry). And if Luck could put together a mixture of those two guys over the next 15 years, we are bound to success!
Regarding them operating in proving themselves I 100 % agree NCF! As Andrew Luck said coming in as #1 pick, "I haven't done anything", and if he could just keep that attitude going through his career we would be very fortunate. Sorry I made this more about our #12, but I just can't wait to see him on the field again!

Totally agree, and as TK said, our players dont get in a lot of trouble, so that is awesome!
-
You can't judge a player by stats alone. People voice their opinions and all you can do is argue about it. These list are voted on by players. There are well over 2,000 players in the NFL. The players who voted have their opinion just as you do. Arguing about it juvenile at best. You didn't agree? So what? Maybe you could find something a little more important to argue about?
Okay, so from now on this forum is only news, and no arguments whatsoever.. This is a forum for crying out loud, and I responded to a post, but I guess you're right.. No more debating for me.
-
Maybe high, but it's about how everyone played last year ALONE. Not their entire careers. Everyone keeps complaining about this or that person and they have years experience. It's not about experience but how you did last year. Idk how people still don't get this.
Exactly! And Looking back on last season Andrew Luck was not the 23rd best player in the league.
-
It's only realistic if you feel that way, but if I feel differently, I'm wrong? I see how this works now. If will defer to your opinion from now on. I beg forgiveness for ever doubting you.
You don't have to agree with me, but if we don't discuss our different opinions, then what is the point of this forum? I don't mean to offend you with my arguments, just trying to have a debate...
-
Ok, but apparently the guys who play against Luck and every other player in the league each week think he is the 23rd best player in the NFL
Apparently so... Obviously I disagree with some of those players
-
Depends..... Is he still leading 5 or 6 game winning drives? There is more to who is the better player than who has the prettier stats
The game winners stay at around 3-5 in the same period of time and he posts 55 % comp., 4,3k yds, 23 TDs 18 ints (correct me if Im wrong with these stats). I'd say that those numbers do not justify a 23rd spot.
-
After reading many of the negative comments about Luck being placed too high, I find it hard to believe that this is actually an Indianapolis Colts forum! If you want to cut our own QB down become a fan of another team ASAP!
Ehh are we only allowed to worship our players and not be a tad realistic? Andrew Luck was a rookie and I am not cutting him down, just acknowleding that there still are a lot of players better than him in this league.
-
It's how important they were to their team and how they played luck was one of the most important players in his
That is just not true at all. Like Dustin said, Top 20 is QBs only, if that was the case.
Andrew Luck had a good year, but let's assume he has the same stats looking forward, would you still rank him #23 in 5 years?
-
Fine, name me 22 players better than him
Aaron Rodgers
Tom Brady
Peyton Manning
Drew Brees
Adrian Peterson
Calvin Johnson
Larry Fitzgerald
Reggie Wayne
Julio Jones
Rob Gronkowski
Joe Thomas
JJ Watt
Aldon Smith
Von Miller
Patrick Willis
Navorro Bowman
Richard Sherman
Geno Atkins
Vernon Davis
Tony Gonzales
Marshawn Lynch
AJ Green

This liat is worthless. That's way too high.
Totally agreed!
-
I guarantee you if the NFL started over tomorrow with every player in the pool and the draft happened.... A Rodgers would be the first pick and Luck would be second.
He is the real deal, if you cannot see it then .... go root for Jax.
I like Andrew Luck as much as anyone on this forum, but to claim that he was the 23rd best player this past year is just wrong.
-
Waaaaaay too high.. List is worthless

Don't you think that it might have been helpful to mention this earlier? You could have said "I'm from Denmark, and over here ....................". I wouldn't have even replied, unless to say "that's interesting". To each his own.
I don't pretend to know your culture, nor should you presume to label responders here as "pathetic" when you clearly have no clue what-so-ever about ours. You were simply begging for a unpleasant response.
Begging for an unpleasant response? Man, what is your deal? Don't you know how to discuss like adults, or are you just making a point with these jabs?
Hope you feel like the alpha-male now.
-
You miss the point completely, and I've only responded (both times) because I didn't want you to accidentally get the impression that your thinking was either normal or appropriate.
We are all conjecturing about various aspects of this to try to figure out what the heck happened, but when you get right down to it - it is largely irrelevant. I'm not trying to make an excuse for the woman, I'm TELLING you that a gentleman doesn't hit a woman REGARDLESS. He could have been acting like a perfect angel, while she was acting like a stoned, mentally ill, escaped convict, and he STILL shouldn't have hit her. You essentially responded as if it was fair payback for all mankind, and about time. What, are you a twelve year old with a really mean big sister? That's not reflective of the real world.
I asked if you had relationships with woman, because a mother would normally inform your behavior, and a girlfriend would have to tolerate your behavior. You are equating the right to vote, and the right to equal pay for equal work, with the "right" to get hit in a bar. You will likely find out shortly that this isn't a great formula for future happiness.
Don't get me wrong, if you are sitting there minding your own business and all of a sudden a woman the size of an NFL lineman comes at you with a deadly weapon, all bets are off. But how often does that happen? That has little to do with either woman's rights or human relationships. If however you are a normal guy and for some reason (warranted or not) your girlfriend "loses it" and tries to hit you, you duck, or you catch her hand, or you catch it with your face. Then you try to calm her down, or you leave for awhile, or (if it didn't hurt) you let her get it out of her system. You DON'T haul off and knock her to the ground. To suggest otherwise is immature, misogynistic, and ludicrous.
No, I am not twelve and neither do I have any sisters. I have just been so lucky to live in a society (not USA) where violence is not given different punishments whether it is a man or a woman. And I can accept that you have a different culture, but I still think that the age of not hitting someone just because of gender is long gone.
But essentially we are just saying the same over and over again, so why don't we just leave it at this?
-
You're beliefs? Have you ever actually had a relationship with a woman? How about a mother? You're comments are offensive.
NO, you don't hit a woman. You "take it like a man" and move on. Of course note that he wasn't exactly acting like a gentleman in that video, which is suggestive of his issues over-all. I wouldn't suggest considering him for your role model.
For the record, woman's equality has to do with pushing back against absurd male assumptions of superiority. We are stronger, not smarter or more capable. Being a gentleman has to do with acknowledging the physical strength and having the confidence/self control not to use it - because that's what civilized people do. What kind of world do you want to live in?
The woman didn't come after Jones with a weapon, he very likely made an offensive comment to her, and she tried to retain some self-respect by pouring beer on him. Here's a hint (if you're a real man), don't make the offensive comment in the first place. If a woman tries to pour beer on you anyway you move out of the way. If you can't move out of the way, take your "dousing" and laugh it off. Jones probably has 40-50 pounds more muscle than she does, what actual threat did she pose? The only thing damaged was his fragile little ego, and if he had half the common sense of a gnat we'd never be talking about him, because he wouldn't keep getting into these utterly ridiculous situation
I am sorry if I offended you, but I don't believe in treating a person differently because of gender. To me that is so uncivilized. You talk about being a real man, eeh what kind of person pours beer at you!? And Jones being bigger than this woman does not really matter, because never did he use his advantage of being a strong guy. Any person can throw a slap and I am surprised some persons still want to defend a woman FOR JUST BEING A WOMAN!
Maybe my original comment was a bit too far off, as I don't have 'beliefs' regarding htting a woman. And I would love to see a link if Jones actually has said anything offensive to this woman, I have not followed the case since it came out. However, if that is not true, and just an assumption of yours, then once again finding an excuse in HER favor is just proving my point.
You also talk about my relationships with women. Do not know why this is neccesary and I actually find it a bit offensive, but yeah I have had girlfriends and a mother.
-
So you think it's ok for a man to hit a woman???? That is the biggest form of cowardice their is....Can't stand that, and will never understand it....
Never ever have I said it is okay for a man to hit a woman, and the fact that you assume that proves my point perfectly. I don't think it is okay to hit ANYONE regardless of gender!!! That is why I hate that one of the biggest reasons not to hit anyone is if that person is a woman. How is that for equality?? really?
-
on the surface that may all be true. but a professional athlete must have the sense to walk away. that's on adam, and he gets little benefit of the doubt given his past
What bothers me is why someone would come at him for hitting a woman. Violence should always avoided and I agree with you that an athlete should walk away, but the gender-difference is just getting sickening.
-
You guys defending the beer-throwing person because it is a woman is pathetic. For decades it has been "We want equality" etc.
I don't see any equality in defending the fact that he shouldn't have hit a girl.
Adam Jones got attacked and he responded, which is perfectly fine according to my beliefs, man or woman.

I put on my #12 jersey, buy some candy and a pizza and watch it with my brother along with 2 of our friends
-
I honestly dont see the big deal here? A team being excited about their 1st round pick is not crazy... Giving him a nickname is fine, and how much do you really want to fly under the radar...?
I love that we are not a media circus, but I also enjoy stuff like this and it is fine by me.

Being a foreigner, I saw mostly Super Bowls and the first one was in '06 and I thought to myself that the Peyton guy was pretty good so it all started then
