I would LOVE to have more talent at WR than we have today

I would ask...... who will be adding the much needed pressure to the opposing team?

This defense is ranked 24th, our offense is 15th

IF we spend big $$$ on FA , I really hope that we use the limited bucket of $$ on a pass rusher and draft 2-3 (early round defensive players)

I think if we get one rookie WR and some help on defense (1 FA DE/ draft CB / draft FS / Draft LB, we will jump up a bit)

And with some health at QB, this team could win the AFC South

One thing is becoming quite clear is that the Afc South will be one of the best in the Nfl.

I agree every team needs a guy like him and I'd like to keep him for the right price. I hope we don't go above $20m per year, but I think Ballard will give him near Tag level money.

I think Ballard will have to pay him large. These type of receivers are very hard to come by.

I think we still need an edge rusher.  Samson is good, Kwity is good at setting the edge.   We get a lot of sacks mainly due to Buck.

But it sure would be nice to have a guy that defenses have to scheme for when he's out there.  It also takes their TE out of play a lot.

I was very disappointed we didn't go after the two Washington players.  Yes, he would have been a rental and expensive to keep.  But if he works out, it's well worth it.

We need Grover back bad. This week.  I'm sure he will be hungry to redeem himself. Watch how much better the line will play.

About time Minshew found him on a long pass

Last week people on this thread were saying Minshew can't throw the long ball. Looked ok to me. I will admit they haven't thrown the long ball and kind of made me wonder why. We were beating teams up on the ground. If the passing game opens Taylor and Moss should have a blast.

The naysayers bashed Fries then moved on to Pierce.

    Who you gonna bash now?

I never bashed Fries. Last week on this thread people were bashing Minshew that he could not throw the deep ball. Well it turns out that he can. Maybe pierce will start getting some passes thrown his way.

While statistically he is not as productive as many of us would like, however, there was a graphic posted during the Patriots game (I believe) that stated he has run the most miles of any receiver this year in the NFL. That is by design as they are using him to clear out the underneath routes................Minshew doesn't have the arm strength to hit him on the deep balls and AR5 was too green to let those develop when he was playing.

So statistically he is not offering much, but the staff likely does not share your sentiment.

That is probably the most logical post yet on this topic.

Apparently, you don't own a TV?

I have many tv's. If you think he's playing well, you don't know what you're talking about. He's a receiver. We need him to catch the ball and hopefully gain some yards. You understand the concept. Or do you?

He is blocking his butt off though.

    Well that's good.

  8. I keep hoping for him to break out. But in reality he offers little to nothing for our offense. If Pittman gets hurt we would be in big trouble. Downs will do well in the future. Possibly 2 receivers will be needed in the draft.
