PM is the GOAT
-
Yep. I teared up.
-
Best wishes to Peyton. If he comes to San Francisco, Seattle, or Arizona, I'll have to head to the Bay and see him play. GO COLTS!
-
Indy.. I don't care how much cheaper a plane ticket to AZ or WA is. Plus my family is there. 2 birds / 1 stone. and I'm heading home for Thanksgiving, so hopefully it's a home game.
-
Please don't refer to his technique as happy feet. He pumps his feet so he can throw at moment's notice. Mike VIck has "happy feet" when he panics and bails out on a pass and turns to run. Spurrier coined that term incorrectly when Manning was at UT.
It's just nails on a chalkboard.
I know that. He's always on the balls of his feet. It isn't meant to be derogatory. At least not from me. I've had the same argument you made with drunk Raiders fans.. it doesn't go over the same!
-
Yeah, it's him. on the second throw, you can see his left knee is protected with something. Oh, and the happy feet, the kick, the follow through, and the weather.
-
I don't know what to think anymore.
What exactly does "better" mean?
Until i see video I just can't keep getting my hopes up again and again.
"Throwing better" in Florida tells me NOTHING.
So Irsay is supposed to believe that? Anyone think there were any Dolphin, Redskin, etc staff privy to him throwing?
It seems so unfair for our team to have to make a decision on a health type situation essentially blind.
I'm not sure that it really matters anyway at this point.
You'll see a video in April when offseason workouts start. Hopefully he's with the team you prefer.

Kravitz is regurgitating information that could have been gleaned from Pagano's statement and Mathis's twitter. Of course contract talks will be heating up, the new NFL year is almost here. hurr durr.
-
And your source for this is?
I'd like to know, too. So would Jimmy.
-
Fixed for accuracy.
The Colts either keep him (which may be foolish if he can't play well), or release him for nothing. There is no other value available.
Some may argue the cap difference and ability to sign FA's/Current players. However, it isn't value added. You (the Colts) had that money expended already, one way or the other. No quid pro quo.

H.E.R.O.
Way to go Ben Patrick. Colts material.
-
^this. a bit expensive for our team
-
Peyton is the Colts qb until 'something else' happens. That 'something else' will go down on March 8th. Irsay and Manning will let us know. Luck is not going to 'pull an Elway'. It will all work out one way or the other, and come September 9th, which will be our first home game (last 2 years on the road at Hou), I'll be on pins and needles rooting for the Colts like I always am.
-
It would be nice to have him back. My neighbor wants to keep him, for obvious reasons. We'll see what happens! He had a great game I went to in Oakland against the Jets this year. No INTs, but a TD saving tackle on Shonn Greene and a few other nice hits. Too bad it was in a Raiders uni.. lol
-
This is how Luck and Manning should settle this (given PM is retained in some fashion):
-
The article said "He almost certainly won’t suit up again for the Colts, and I think by now most Indy fans are at peace with that".
I just dont see that last statement AT ALL
"Thanks, media, for telling me how to feel about the whole situation"
on a side note, I think my memory foam pillow has alzheimer's - my neck is sore.
-
What a stupid rule.
Maybe not. What if the powers that be were to see him 2 months ago and decide then to cut him, only to see progress continue. I see it as forced hindsight, but the timing is still bad with March 8 being the date and April being when the ptb can see him. There is a reason he hasn't been cut, and I don't feel it is PR. Rip the bandaid off if necessary.
-
Because if it happens, and Peyton wins a Super Bowl somehow next year, he will be able to retire the GOAT. No questions asked.
highly unlikely hypothetical here, but could you imagine this: Comeback POY, MVP, SBMVP? holy smokes.
-
See how this statement does not create tension? It is their opinion. And it is my opinion, JT, that he will restructure his contract to a three year deal with the full intent on both sides for him to leave after year two.
I share your sentiments. To me, released doesn't mean gone. I'd like to see him re-sign with the Colts. I'm just not 100% sure of all the contract details and if releasing him is absolutely necessary to avoid the massive amount of $$ the Colts would incur. From what I have heard, it's either pay him and restructure, or release and re-sign - OR just cut. nwih they trade him. I personally feel he will restructure, but it will be after he is released. All I know for certain is that my neighbor is giving me h.e.double l. about the whole thing.
-
And if he does come back, he's gonna have to deal with the Texans, who are no longer a joke. In fact, I'd be willing to bet they are the AFC rep in the SB next year.
Save your dollars! :coffee:
Hang this from the top of the forum. HANG IT.
I hope I am surprised by the Colts this year, but do think they can either win the division or be a wildcard. The Texans have a strong squad, and I think they will make the playoffs. No SB yet, however, but best wishes to the Texans.
at least we're not the :jags:
-
The guy I know who claims to be a source told me the same thing. Expect March 8 to roll around, PM released and Irsay to say it was because they couldn't agree on a contract and $28 million was not an option
I believe Manning will be released.
-
And because we don't want to be stuck in the same situation as we were last season with only one good QB! PM, Luck, Orlovsky is much better than Luck, Orlovsky, Painter.
ding. winner.
Contingency plans seem to get lost in the conversation. I have a feeling the Colts are looking at this situation. I don't see them reaching out in FA for a qb (well...in an odd way... maybe - see PM). Defense is going to be the main focus, and getting a qb from another team in FA would be a waste of $ imo.
-
Something interesting that I read was Article 21 Section 9 under Offseason Participation Contract:
"..an Unrestricted Free Agent whose Player Contract with that Club has expired, may enter into an Offseason Workout Program and Minicamp Participation Agreement in order to participate in the offseason workout program and minicamp(s) of that Club."
-
This poll doesn't take into account if Peyton agrees to restructure and try to stay and Irsay cuts him anyways. That is what I think will happen. Peyton will agree but Irsay will cut him anyway. I can't vote for the others because I don't think that is how it will go down and I am sure many feel the same way.
Or...Peyton restructures and the Colts trade him for draft picks. Plausible.
I don't believe any of these will happen, but it's interesting, nonetheless.
