  1. This is a fantasy. The Colts would never get as much as the Rams, because there was only one team willing to overpay for that pick. The Redskins made a mistake. A good front office would never have made that trade. Teams are not "more desperate", the Colts are stuck with Luck. Too bad the Colts don't have more draft picks to rebuild sooner. This is a very deep draft.

  2. I swear some people on here are deep down hoping Luck fails so they can say I told you so and so it makes Manning look better and Irsay worse.

I think some people are being cautious. Luck has not proven anything yet. No one wants the Colts to fail, but some of you need to use logic and stop using feelings that carry no weight on the gridiron.

  3. I beg to differ here subvet. Why do so many people rule out Denver? Who cares if he went there first. That means absolutely nothing. Why do so many people falsely believe he cannot play outdoors? Peyton can win anywhere, anytime, inside or out. Forget Miami. Colorado is a perfect fit with John Elway & Peyton Manning uniting forces.

I think Manning is finished. He was in decline before the injury. He's done.

  4. Rams got a king's ransom for the second pick. (Three firsts and a second). Think of what the Colts could have gotten for the first pick. Wouldn't be easier to rebuild with 5 first round picks and 4 second round picks in the next three years? Trust me, Andrew Luck will not be the last great QB to play football.

And what would the Colts have then? They would have a 36 year old QB. One whose neck is damaged. Recovery was only a remote possibility. I predict he'll never be great again. And his sad, final days won't be at Lucas Oil. Be thankful for that!

  5. We can never put Manning threads in a "GENERAL" section. Hes the "SHERIFF" not the General so Mods its time to make a new one!!

I am certain that you are unfamiliar with military rankings, however general in this terminology is reference to thenNFL at large, and not just the Colts.

Sheriff? But I did not shoot the deputy...oh no

  6. It does matter, your answer suggested that the $26.4MM was paid for the #1 overall pick. I showed you that was not the case. If the Colts had not paid the money, the team would still be 2-14, and have the #1 overall pick.

The previous poster suggested that the $26.4MM was paid to PM, and it produced nothing. I am inclined to agree, since PM did not play one single down last season.

You are correct sir! You are thinking like a businessman and not someone's girlfriend. Some of these posters are way too emotional to see the forest for the trees

  7. I know its early, but since we are expected to go through some growing pains, although I dont think we will be as bad as the talking heads on ESPN, what do you see our record being in 2012 and is there any top studs we could be in position for getting next draft to help out Luck and the team? Btw I predict about a 6-10 or 7-9 year. Not the 3-13 year most ESPN guys think. I dont think we'll be quite as bad as last year. We should actually have good coaching this year, plus an actual QB, and better defense.

I don't understand this kind of thinking. Enjoy the 2012 season! Life's too short to throw away a year. There will surely be entertaining games next season. Entertaining plays.

  8. It seems like a very possible place, but do you honestly think that Peyton would want to go to Denver where they play a mile above sea level and start getting cold in early November. Peyton hates snow + cold. Look for hot spots to be a more likely destination. Miami, Arizona, even Seattle (sort of). I'm kinda ruling out the cold spots, except the Jets, because Tom Moore is there and there is the Jets.

You're assuming that Denver wants Manning, and he doesn't want them. Maybe neither wants the other.
