  1. The problem with them going to a power run game is simple we have O Linemen made for Zone Blocking while Arians has installed what was in the beginning a primarily Man Blocking scheme, we have agile O Linemen who are not maulers outside of MAYBE Satele

I agree completely. Itll take a year or 2 to get them converted. On the bright side that should be way easier than converting the Defense. I like Satele but i dont think heck ever be the caliber of Center that Saturday was. We need a lineman to step up and lead the line.

  2. 4 years is optimistic? Really?

Sometimes I feel like the most cautious person on this website and even I think we'll be making a deep playoff run by year 4 of this regime. Put another way, if we're not, I'm not sure Pagano and Grigson will be around here by years 6 and 7.

Edit-note: Just re-read the original post and saw that it also said 'compete for a Super Bowl'... I don't mean to be cute, but I guess it depends on how you define 'compete for a Super Bowl'. If that means, make the playoffs, then yes. If it means win a game in the playoffs, then yes as well. But if it means reach the Super Bowl, then I'd say not likely, no. Hope that clarifies....

Competing for a Super Bowl and Being a regular playoff team are 2 completely different teams. i actuall think well be in the playoffs next year. But asking the colts to play with Pittsburgh, NE or Houston is just asking way too much for the next couple years.

  3. Interesting. They have him listed at 6' 1". I wonder if he can return kicks? He must not have good hands if they're trying him at CB. That position requires so much more than raw speed.

Can't hurt to look at him on the PS. Another interesting move by Grigs.

Grigson definately knows what hes doing. You dont become the director of college scouting so fast by luck. Irsay picked a good mind to turn us around

  4. I don't think you can call it a success unless we end with a winning record. If we don't then you can just say we improved, but fell short of our goals.

I understand that but we were projected to be one the worst teams and yet we have become a low middle tier instead of complete obscurity like the jags or chiefs. Our main goal was to get more wins than last year (we did) and create a good foundation for the future (we did) so how can it not be a success.

  5. We have double the wins of last year and if you want to go the Luck vs Manning route Luck is ahead in every major category at this point in their careers. A family member believes wins are wins but i feel that we are definately on the right track. And I firmly believe that no matter what our record looks like at the end of the year all the true colts fans should feel happy and excited for what the future brings. Am i too optimistic?

  6. in the past he has been given chances behind a horrible offensive line. he just needs to stay healthy and the line needs to continue to run block well.

True, but they are trying to go to more of a power run game and Ballard is better suited. Its the same style Mississippi St. is becoming known for. If anything i say go to a 50/50 time share, But i think its time to put Ballard as the number 1 and see if he cant progress into the franchise back we need.

  7. 4 years is very optimistic but not unrealistic. The AFC is no longer full of powerhouses Considering that Pagano & Grigson are changing from a 4-3 to a Hybrid and going to a more Power run game and Luck's only truely reliable receiver is Wayne ( plus at this rate we wont really have many top 10 picks in each round like other teams in rebuild mode) I'd say its more like 6 or 7 years

  8. maybe cause the run blocking has been improved the last two weeks. kinda hard to run forward when a defensive lineman is busting through the line before you get to the line of scrimmage.

I agree the blocking has improved but it was never really atrocious just inconsistant. I cant tell you how many times i saw them try and bounce the ball out when if they would have turned up the field they would have gotten 3 yards instead of a loss or 0 yards. Either way I hope we can build of that success and give Luck a little help.

  9. A lot of thought into this... Way more bad plays than good. If Luck wasnt so mobile he'd be on his back 5/6 times a game. However, If Ballard and Brown learn that if they run forward instead of sideways they do alot better (look at the 4th quarter compared to OT) then maybe we wouldn't get blitzed on all the time.

  10. Yeah we got lucky. The Refs blew the whistle early on the pass to Allen at the end. Otherwise it would have been a fumble that would have setup the Titans for a game winning FG.

The refs completely blew that call, but they didnt blow the wistle too early. They blew it a whole second after it was out. So that being said, this is the NFL small things count, Like the luck the titans had against Detriot.

  11. Te'o will be in our range and he can play any LB position. But, Pagano will want to sure up the secondary hes known for. So, with that said I wouldn't be surprised if Pagano and Grigson completely shake up everyone's expectations and does something knowbody is expecting. I for one cant wait to see how they do next year in the draft. Either way they go, look for them to go more toward POWER on both sides of the ball.
