Two coaching decisions almost cost the Colts this game.
The decision to go prevent at the end of the first half.
The decision to keep Jacoby in the game for 3 straight downs.
IF Frank would just tell Eberflus to stop with the loose coverage, keep Jacoby ON THE BENCH other than a Qb sneak, and ride Taylor? They have a chance.

It honestly seems as if Frank is trying to purposely lose this game.

The last 2 minutes of the first half and the first 5 of the second half shows why Frank should not be coach of the Colts. Not if they ever want to be elite.
You go into a prevent D of sorts and allow the Jags to score before the half. A huge momo shift.
And then, for reasons that defy belief other than Frank's own ego, stubborness, and blind loyalty to subpar players, he has Jacoby play 3 straight plays trying to get a first down with your starter on the sidelines.
Jacoby is not Lamar Jackson. I am faster than Jacoby. To have him in the game for anything other than a qb sneak is just inexcusable. Everyone knows he isn't going to run very often, isn't going to pass very often, so what is the point besides a qb sneak?
I am sorry but I have seen enough of Frank all year, even if they win this game, to know he is not the coach for the Colts long term.

Pittman needs to stop with the stupid offsides.
Just a lack of focus.
I don't know if any of you watch his youtube channel but he definitely has an 'airhead/pothead' vibe to him in how he speaks.
Kind of slow. Reminds me of Spicolli from fast times.
Don't get me wrong he has talent, but his head is sometimes in the ozone layer.

Rivers is fire and that is the play????
My god.

Where is Darius Leonard
Venturi says it all of the time and I agree. Leonard is a good player who can make plays, but a consistent stopper he is not.
He is just too small.

that call was nonsense.
It was 100% a penalty.

Colts are not going to stop GB.
Only hope IMO is try to go to a hurry up with Hines Burton PIttman etc and wear GB down.
-
There ya go.
There 3 main players that they use every game and to a VERY large % should be
Hines
Burton
Pittman
End of story. All 3 are very underutilized imo but are your best offensive players, although Pittman is getting more looks now.

Not that play. He had several lanes, and he literally chose the worst one. He measured it up, and chose the worst one.To me Taylor looks so slow. Very Trent Richardsonesque.
I know people don't want to hear that and it makes no sense considering how fast he looked in college, but the guy seems to have zero acceleration or agility.

Get Hines going!
After the first 3 plays of the game, one of which was a 18 yard gain to Hines, he has barely seen the field.
Ridiculous.

I think we all knew deep down that this defense is not as good as they 'appeared' to be.
We have been fortunate to play some teams that were not exactly offensive powerhouses, but even some of those teams had some very high completion %s. The Browns and the Jags come to mind.
This is a team that can play fast and when it gets hot can cause some problems, but when things start to crumble just a little against a good offense, it can be exposed very very quickly.

Hines was wide open on that pick.
This could get ugly real fast.

At home. Inside (no wind). And our kicker can't get it over the bar from 50. That is not impressive leg strength.
One thing I have noticed on all of his kicks is while he is very accurate, the ball does not explode off of his foot like with some other kickers in the NFL. There is no pop.
It just kind of floats. You really notice it on the extra points.
His lack of leg strength is pretty alarming.
-
So I see Hines is back to being relegated to next to nothing in the game plan again.
Frank never learns. He is probably your best offensive player and Frank treats him like a 3rd stringer.
He is just not good at utilizing his best players.

That may have been a soft call, but Leonard has to be smarter than that...refs always look to throw a flag in that situation
Yeah Leonard moderately pushed him a step out of bounds and then pulled his arms back.

Unless its up the gut on 3rd down! Get that man in space and good things happen!
Yep just use him in the right way.
He is a excellent football player.
Use Hines, Mo Allie, and Burton more.

This is what I said.
You play Hines?
You win.
Give that man the football!

Yeah, we need a new O-line coach pronto. Our guys do not have that nasty energy like the last two years
IMO It is because Frank is just way to nice on these guys.
They have lost their edge.
Harbaugh?

Can I say this without being blasted?
Frank Reich is a horrible playcaller.
What is the point of running him up the middle?
Why is Hines not being utilized more? He is by far your most explosive player right now and Reich will just ignore him for chunks at a time.
I am pretty much over Frank as a person that can lead this team anywhere.

Did they dress Eason?
If not and this is a blowout, imo you need to practice Eason with the first team reps the next week of practice.
Brissett isn't going to win you anything and either is Rivers.
I have seen enough from first year starters like Tua, Herbert, Burrow, and even the new Dallas QB to see that the rookie Qbs of today are light years ahead of what they were 20 years ago.
Might be time to see what we have.
-
Wow. Defense looks horrible.
Hate to say this but could be a blowout.

I mentioned a few days ago that while Rivers can do some intermediate stuff, the 2 things that you need in today's NFL are mobility/run, and the ability to throw the ball downfield 20 yards or more with RPM/spin.
So far that is 3 balls that Rivers has thrown today more than 20 yards that lacked velocity and if they had been throw with a little more? Would have been completed.
It really is that simple and it is going to be a reason why the Colts can't go all the way this year.
And they never will with Rivers.
