So, did it get dark all around, if you're having total solar eclipse? Yeah, it's special if you get totality, which would happen like very few times in lifetime, if lucky. Most often eclipses in lifetime in one's region will only be partial, and that won't give the same experience - not even close - as today.

You've done all right... They're just from different planet I'd have been one of those who took a car to go near he finish line. I visited a native American Village in the hills in NM, and the houses were at the top of the hill, and we went in bus to the very street. A mile away before reaching that hill, I saw a native American girl running towards there in barefoot in hot summer on midday, and she ran all the way up and reached their village not many minutes since we arrived.. now imagine doing the same?

It's nice to get 9 wins with backup QB, but it happened in a bad division. Jags were strong, then fell apart. Texans were up and down, then won in the final stretch. If Colts were in AFC North or AFC West, or even in AFC East, those 9 wins wouldn't have come... The real test is if Jaguars and Texans play to the best of their ability in 2024 season which would finally mimic competition in other AFC divisions, we'll see where Colts roster stands at the end of this upcoming season.

Ridder and Willis were selected in '22 draft, which had historically bad QB class. They were also 2nd and 3rd QBs taken, after 60+ other players were selected, it was so bad even QB needy teams were afraid to pull the trigger. Yeah, I'd not have worried about Ballard not drafting QB that year, in the first place. Perhaps one could argue it was good time for a dart throw, as if the 2nd selected QB worked out, team was spending only a late day 2 draft pick, which in other years would require a top 5 overall draft pick to select one of the top 3 QBs. Eason was selected in '20 draft, which had one of the best QB classes in recent years. I think we can't just ignore the value of draft pick, when we say anything after round 1 for QB is a dart throw. If Round 2 draft pick was not highly valued, perhaps Ballard could've drafted Jalen Hurts which Philly did to find a franchise QB. Or how Packers spent ~#25 draft pick to select Jordan Love in the same draft. No other team was willing to part a draft pick around #50, to draft a QB who may or may not work out but Philly had some confidence that Hurts wouldn't be a total bust and they could get some serviceable years to spend a Round 2 draft pick. Eason pick was a blind dart throw like almost all teams do in day 3, just to select a QB as camp and practice addition. Teams have very low confidence that the QB will work out, and the expectations are low. Personally, I'd like teams to evaluate QBs to find if they are slightly confident of the QB working out in some aspect, and be ready to spend a draft pick in top 50 like Philly and GB did. That they are willing to not draft a borderline round 1 graded player, in other positions and instead select a QB who may or may not work out, but they think their guy might have better chance. Spending a day 3 pick basically means nothing, once in a while there may be a Brady or Purdy, but no one is expecting that. Sometimes, teams get a Cousins or Prescott too, but that's just rare compared to QBs selected at least within top ~50 draft picks.

To be clear, to get back to your original point, I agree that Ballard seems to be banking on AR's success to elevate the roster because who other difference-maker is in the roster who can win you all play-off games? I agree, in that sense, he's relying on AR to do very very well, but I'd also say that'd be too much for the young QB's shoulders. Also, while agreeing above, IMHO, AR's success or failure doesn't decide Ballard's tenure. As I said, Irsay will have to find many more things in disagreement with Ballard in order to fire him.

That seems to be the sentiment for the majority here, even those who ardently defend Ballard every awaken hour here says that (I believe that's just in jest), but I don't think that will be the case. Just my opinion. But, let's not go there, let's hope AR becomes great, gives some great seasons for Colts.

I guess narratives change... Seriously, I think Ballard hasn't changed. He's not betting on AR, neither his job relies on AR's success. Right or wrong, Irsay believes in Ballard so much and Ballard finds no rush in changing his philosophy or tweaking some of his tactics in off-season. I think Ballard will continue to build the roster his own way, slow and steady, via draft and keeping mostly the players he drafts. Whether that leads to success, even if AR works out well, remains to be seen as QB success alone doesn't win a Super Bowl. (That's a very major factor but even Mahomes sometimes needs a strong roster and some key players on offense and defense around him). Whether Ballard achieves success or same status quo remains to be seen, and even if not, I think Irsay will have to find many things in disagreement with Ballard in order to fire him.

@funktacious2 As you weren't available and hadn't sent any preferred choices (I could've missed), I had chosen these selections for Jaguars. As only Colts selected after your picks, if you would like to choose different players From the list of players available in Big Board, you can feel free to post your picks. anyway you decide, please confirm the selections.

Problem is people get fixated on some word and don't try to understand how people communicate... Not everyone can convey eloquently like some people expect here. Somebody saying "it's just that simple" doesn't mean they think it's simple, it's just a way of how people talk languages. Some communicate crisp and clear, some come across differently. There are wide spectrum of such just as we come across different people in Life. Bigger problem is, when guys try to look for words that trigger and constantly hangs on to it, and continues to find the pattern in message boards in everyone else and try to point out to others how they shouldn't say this or that, that becomes a nuisance (just to Rhyme with nonsense )

That's how I thought it'd go down..... Until Browns Browned... I think it's a good choice to get Watson still, but they got their timing wrong for sure.. they do have a great coach and roster though, so all good now for them.

That Broncos Super Bowl roster though was Lit... Loved that time. And, Manning's record breaking passing years. In real life, I'd prefer to wait for a year at least to get the right franchise QB when the QB draft class has some certain hits or some pure pocket passer. Same for Vikings. I'm not very sure about this class, it looks like mediocrity, that would require another QB search in a couple of years. With that in mind, your trade down actually should be good long term. I'd hope that happens in real draft as well, rather than picking from what's left in QB class this year.
