  1. I could be wrong but I don't think he was blaming the loss on Manning. It's just a fact, if that INT had not been thrown the Colts would have had a very good shot at winning. The Colts were moving the ball, eating up clock and setting themselves up to win. Harper made an excellent play ran it back for a TD and put the game out of reach.

I thought Manning played very well in that game and he was not responsible for the loss but that INT was a back breaker.

    exactly

  2. http://www.wthr.com/story/15165722/colts-looking-for-long-term-deal-with-peyton-manning

    (AS OF Jul 28, 2011 1:43 PM EDT )

We asked Polian if the long-term deal with Peyton was holding up what else the team might do with free agency right now.

"Yes and no. It's a factor, but I think the market is more of an indicator at this point in time. As we get closer to next Thursday and the beginning of the league year it becomes more of an issue. Even as you approach training camp, roster moves, things of that nature, it dictates that to some degree," Polian said.

The Colts would get the Peyton deal done before training camp, but certainly by the middle of next week. They're looking for a deal that would keep Manning in Indianapolis for the rest of his NFL career.

  3. (i copied the whole article off of stampede blue)

Clint Session is as good as gone from the Colts roster in 2011. While he was a solid contributor for the Colts as a back-up and, eventually, starting WILL backer, the reality is the Colts cycle through WILL backers the way Charlie Sheen cycles through hookers and mountains of cocaine.

The WILL backer spot is simply not valued by the Colts front office (see David Thornton, Cato June, Freddy Keiaho, etc.), and with the emergence of Kavell Conner last year, the writing was on the wall for Session.

Clint might find a happy home with a division rival. According to multiple sources, including SB Nation's own Big Cat Country, the Jacksonville Jaguars are close to signing the former-5th round pick out of Pitt. Jacksonville is also negotiating with CB Chris Carr, S Dawan Landry, and have already inked linebacker Justin Durant Paul Posluszny.

Add Session to that mix, and the Jags have a nice defense going. Meanwhile, we have Kelvin Hayden and his $9 million dollar cap hit. Yay.

Other news to pass along is the St. Louis Rams are sniffing around Daniel Muir. They are also looking into getting Brandon Mebane and Darren Sproles.

    this is bad news.....

  4. According to NFL.com, the Colts have the fifth-hardest schedule in the league, behind the Panthers, Bills, Broncos and Lions.

By contrast, the Patriots have the 16th hardest schedule and the Steelers, 28th.

  5. Some teams even offered a bigger signing bonus than the Colts, but Gilreath decided his best opportunity to make an NFL roster was in Indianapolis. The Colts ranked 28th in the NFL in punt returns last season and 29th in kickoff returns. Indianapolis also told Gilreath they'd give him a look as a slot receiver.

Gilreath said "There's going to be competition wherever you go," Gilreath said. "But I felt I had a better shot here than anywhere else." By Tuesday morning, Gilreath was in Indianapolis, exhausted but eager to start his new job.

"They told me to pack like I'm not coming home," Gilreath said. "So that's what I did. That's my plan."

The guy gots skills i looked at his highlight video i think he could land a spot on kick returns for sure and maybe a slot reciever
