Houston traded it to them when the Browns took Brock Osweiler and his ridiculous contract off the Texans hands

The Browns (twice) and Giants picking before the Colts at the top of round 2, could quickly see 3 guys the Colts could target be gone. Browns need OT with Joe Thomas's retirement, they could take C. Williams or they could also take Landry or another CB with their 2 picks and the Giants need OL (C. Williams or W. Hernandez), an edge rusher (H. Landry) or maybe a CB as well. The Colts will still have their choice of either another OL, H. Landry, a CB or even a WR. RB is a possibility but I don't see them going RB with their first 2 picks in round 2. Maybe with their 3rd second round pick.

Great pick. Colts were in an excellent position to get an impact player and they did. Glad they didn't trade down and stuck to their board.

I was ok with the trade scenario, but the picks of Fitzpatrick and Wynn, I don't see, in my opinion. I think there will be good value on both CB and OL at the top of the second round. I truly believe the Colts want to make sure they land either Roquan Smith or Tremaine Edmunds, if Bradley Chubb doesn't make it to 6.

That chime sound is a chorus hook from the song See You in September, performed by a few groups. I'm most familiar with the Frankie Valli and Four Seasons version-
Huh, I did not know that.

Hey hey! Let's not be taking shots at the hair!
I think the Colts will win the draft too!
Gotta love Uncle Buck. Great movie.

Pray that Browns take Josh Allen, Giants take Sam Darnold, Jets take Baker Mayfield, Browns take Saquon Barkley, Broncos take either Josh Rosen or Quenton Nelson and Bradley Chubb falls to the Colts. Other than that, let's see how the board falls and what trades take place. As others have said, it's a fairly weak draft for edge rushers.

I will say this for Mel Kiper, as well as Mike Mayock and all the draft "guru's", although I disagree with them more often than not, I do at least have some appreciation for the time they spend doing their analysis and projections. I used to watch the draft on ESPN each year, but, I've been watching it on the NFL Network the last few years. I just find Mayock's analysis and projections to be a little more spot on but I do occasionally flip back to ESPN, probably for the nestalgia of hearing that chime sound when the next pick is up.

Obviously there is something more intriguing about the NFL draft than just teams picking players, as evidenced by the build-up, hype, & amount of mock drafting going on this time of the year...
For some fans like myself who don't/doesn't watch alot of college ball it is also just simply a condensed "cliff note version" way of learning about the incoming rookie class...
Absolutely. I watch a good amount of college football but I don't know half of the players until it's close to draft time. Then I'll go back and look at highlights to get a better grasp of who these players are. And as much as I love the draft, and all that goes into it, I admit I could do without some of the hype and theatrics that are put on. Ultimately, I just want to see the picks.

Falcons take Tyrell Crosby, OT, Oregon. 49ers next.

I usually watch by myself. Wife has no interest, outside of her team (the Eagles) and everyone else is usually working or they don't care either. Gotta go with pizza, mozzarella sticks, with either chips or pretzels, diet green iced tea and then some kind of pastry and coffee for to cap it off.

Isaiah Oliver, Josh Jackson, Jaire Alexander or Carlton Davis, in that order.

I've always loved the draft. I have no idea why, but I do. I've watched it since I was a kid. In fact, the first one I watched was when Bill Tobin and Mel Kiper had their tussle. I tried explaining it to my wife but she still can't grasp the concept of enjoying watching teams pick players. To me it's more than just picking players, it's seeing how your team improves as well as other teams, especially your division rivals. I do wish it was the old format of rounds 1-3 on Saturday and rounds 4-7 on Sunday, but that's just me.

Flowers was a huge reach at #9 in the 2015 draft. Especially since Todd Gurley went #10. Flowers was supposed to be their RT but when their LT Beatty tore his pec, Flowers was forced into the LT position. He struggled, and the Giants were stubborn to admit the mistake and allowed the issue to fester. Flowers, aside from his struggles, also had an incident in which he shoved a Giants reporter. He may be worth a shot on a team with OL stability looking for depth, but not here where we need quality starters with no baggage.

I would be ok with Smith at 6. Obviously, it depends on how the first five picks shake out and what QB's are still available. I just believe with the value and depth of interior offensive lineman that will likely be available at the top of the second round, the Colts are going defense, unless Barkley slides or they really like Nelson. To me, the Colts are in a great situation to where they can get an impact player or fleece a desperate team.

Colts trade down in round 2, trading the 37th pick(value of 530), to Arizona, who move up for a QB, for the 47th pick (value of 430) and the 97th pick (value of 112), Arizona's compensatory pick.

1. Cle- J. Allen
2. NYG- S. Darnold
3. NYJ- B. Mayfield
4. Cle- S. Barkley
5. Den- B. Chubb
6. Ind- R. Smith
7. TB- D. Ward
8. Chi- Q. Nelson
9. SF- T. Edmunds
10. Oak- D. James

Darnold is, to me, the only QB the Giants will take at 2. I don't think they like the boom or bust project Allen is, the durability issues Rosen has, especially since they had Eli, who didn't miss a game, outside of organizational stupidity, and I don't see Mayfield as a fit either. So, I see the Giants taking Darnold if he's there or either Chubb or Barkley.

I do believe that Ballard is looking to possibly trade down again, however, I don't think he will trade down past a certain point. As much as he wants more picks, he won't pass on the opportunity to take an impact player at the top of the draft.

Dominic Rhodes. He just seemed to make a key play when the Colts needed it. And he was instrumental in their Super Bowl win.

I don't see Ballard making any move until draft night, to see how the first five picks go. If things fall a certain way, he'll be willing to trade down. However, I don't see him risking losing out on a player he wants if he feels like they won't be there at the spot he would trade down to. The Colts are in a great situation either way. This is the first draft I have been really excited for since when they took Luck.

I think Giants go with either Bradley Chubb or Sam Darnold, if Cleveland passes on him. I don't see the Giants taking Saquon Barkley or Quenton Nelson at 2. They could trade back but I think they won't pass up the best pass rusher or the future franchise QB.
-
I think Colts go defense with their first round pick, be it B. Chubb, T. Edmunds, R. Smith or even D. Ward. But I would not be upset if they pick Q. Nelson.

"Horsepower" or "ColtStrong" would have been better. "Heed The Stampede" or something like that could have been good too.

I think the Browns take an OT, probably Connor Williams, Giants reinforce their O-line with Will Hernandez, and Cleveland takes Harold Landry. There for, the Colts have their choice of CB, WR, a DE, LB or maybe a RB. I think the Colts go WR Courtland Sutton and CB Josh Jackson.
