This is yet to be seen. We would not have won 9 games with AR last season, so Minshew was better, in my opinion. AR has his chance in 2024 to show his stuff.
He would have won 10+

It blows my mind how much of media and fans will push a narrative. For example, one media person said "Against the Rams, Ricardson was the best player on the field". hahaha Or called a "franchise QB" and "the next great Colts QB". Tell me this...based on what???? That he was drafted high? So where JaMarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, and Akili Smith. That he is an athletic monster? So were Tim Tebow and Trey Lance. Or, is it because he was drafted high, he has physical traits, and we are told that he will be those things?
So I suggest those who drink the Kool-Aid refer to Justin Fields. Similar player with much more experience in college. A good runner for a QB who is inaccurate as a passer. But every year we hear "Oh, but he is progressing". Compared to who? Fields got sacked 1 time out of every 9 passes. Ok, they blame poor offense line. But when Tyson Baggert, a college free agent who had to play as a rookie, started games, he was sacked 1 time out of every 29 passes. So did the line suddenly get better? Yet, there are STILL media people pushing that Fields has this great potention. Come on, after three seasons, I think we know what he is. An inaccurate, indecisive QB who can run. And new to the world. QBs are supposed to be PASSERS first.
Anthony Richardson seems like a good, hardworking guy. But I have little doubt he will be a bust as an accurate, decisive NFL QB. He will run and that will make highlight films. He will have an ocassional nice pass or game. But overall, he will be a bust.
That is why I am praying the Colts resign Gardner Minshew. Because he is and will always be a better NFL QB than Richardson. Mark my words. If we lose Minshew. we better draft another QB prospect like Michael Pratt and just hope he can be a Brock Purdy type gem, because Anthony Richardson is our Trey Lance. I guarantee it.
What an attention seeking post.

Minshew is a high end backup. Also for comparison sake the Colts had Foles last year. Which QB looked better?
Last year nobody looked good.
But at this point in each players career Foles has a ring to back up that argument. Minshew is in a great system with a very good coach. I think Ryan or Foles would have been just as or more successful with Shane.

The point is that backups can play at a high level for a short time. Which Foles did. But you usually can’t rely on them for an entire season. Foles only had to play 5 games I believe.
In the playoffs which is the best of the best going at it. I don't want a backup to play the entire season either. And I don't disagree with Easy, you or anyone else in that regard. I was trying to be funny more then anything else. But for whatever reason it was Foles lit it up that year in the playoffs. And I think a high end backup could get you there.

Foles didn’t play the whole season which was his point.
I know. But Foles did play at a extremely high level for a back up when he won the SB

I agree 💯. But I also disagree. We are not going to win a SB with a backup QB that plays the whole season. Plus we are not going to win a SB with a old school mentality coach. (Frank) I love the guy for sure. I loved Pagano but his coaching is past due. JMO on it much respect on all the Colts coaches including Saturday. Saturday was thrown in there. Not by his fault, who wouldn't take the job for millions of dollars??? Lmao
Nick Foles says hello.

After rewatching the dropped pass by Goodson, It was a good play call Shane didnt get cute. I let my emotions get the best of me. It wasn't a well placed throw, but I believe it was one he could have caught.

I like Shane and I think he is going to be very good in the years to come. But I stand by what I said he got cute and it bit him. My biggest concern is Gus. How many 3rd and longs can your team give up and you keep your job? I would move on from him. His defense is horrible.

Honestly, as jaw dropping as his physical gifts are, I find myself really liking Anthony the person just as much. A completely likable and relatable young man, easy to cheer for. I hope he has a long career with the Colts. If he does I think Colts Nation will be very happy for a long, long time.
And yes, I haven’t felt this way about a player since Luck back at Stanford.
Me too! He is so likable. I was able to speak with him at the combine (briefly). What I really respected about him is how he didn't act rushed or annoyed speaking with me.

Heard someone say today that Texans are not quite as explosive without tank dell. I could see that in the highlights of the Texan game. A lot of quick dumo offs and screens.
That's what kills us. I wish we could play the screen and the short game a little better. What was it in the raiders game? 3rd and 19 and we let them convert easily.

AR is going to be a beast in this system. As long as he can stay healthy. He was looking like a monster in the limited time we saw him. Just the power behind his throws. The kid has a cannon.

I was frustrated with Pierce last week. But after watching him closely this week he is more open then I originally thought. But he needs to produce more. I hope next year AR will get him the ball over the top.

If you've watched all the games, he gets open plenty, and is a good blocker too. He had one bad drop. It was a drive killer, but I'm not writing him off because of it. Downs had two drops, but nobody is complaining about him....
Yeah but he's the #2 and he needs to step up and show his worth.

I'm not blaming Ballard for Pierces production but Pierce does need to be benched. Like I said to another poster we cut Dhaq for under performing why not Pierce.

He got us in position for our only TD,... all our WRs played bad today. Granson was a bright spot. That's about it.
Great he got us in position to score our only TD. But I have seen enough of him. He is a non factor and has been all season. Give the reps to someone else. And I am willing to eat crow if things change. We cut Shaq for not producing why not sit Pierce.

I'd cut Pierce yesterday. That guy is a non factor. And I was still holding out hope for him

Why do we go so conservative. Blitz the crap out of him and make him use his brain. And I cant stand Minshew. I am tired of having a QB that can't push the ball down field. I'm * we went soft!

Hang in there Colts fan. It's far from over. I thought Tennessee was gonna whoop us.
