  1. ok, everybody who wants to go thru another season like this one again please raise your hands. thought so. so if we trade the first overall pick away do we still manage to get a qb that is in the caliber that luck is in, probably not. and who is to say manning will ever play again, he still isn't cleared by the doctors. me, i am waiting on who the next gm is, that will tell us more of what is goin to happen in the draft.

  2. love how everybody is speaking for luck, he hasn't said he wouldn't sit behind manning. trading manning isn't going to work either, if he did get traded he would cost 30 mill against the cap next year, not happening. kinda looks like a fan from another team who doesn't want indy to get lucky again by getting luck when we have manning still.

  3. i just found this quote on PFT from irsay-

    My deepest thanks and appreciation to Bill and his son for depending on basically one player for the better part of the last decade. Now its time to wipe the slate clean and bring in a “new set of eyes’ that can see past a single position on a football team and demonstrate the ability to do more than stake their entire reputation and the fate of an entire NFL team on only QuarterBack…

  4. i hope wayne doesnt leave or mathis both are a impoetant part of this team, as is beathea. but i can see wayne leaving, something about this season didn't seam right with him and the coaching staff/fo, letting a player of that caliber walk is a big mistake. mathis wont be going anywhere i hope. ah man the more i write the more im getting worried about these two, they wouldn't let them walk would they? im throwing my hat at angerer as the best player on the def, JUST because hes from my hometown, no dislike towards beathea i like him too, its just a little hometowness thing.

  5. what happened to the defense is, murphy just made the playcalling simple.there is a article on pft about in the sat morning oneliners, murphy says the dc is too stupid to remember what was being used so he simplified the plays. that way players can just play enstead of wondering if they are in the right position or were to go left when they went right, they players like it and their playing improved on the feild. murphy sounds like a down to earth guy, with a nice sense of humor.

  6. ok,since i can't make my mind up on manning/luck, and i don't wish to read 5 pages of comments, please forgive me if i repeat what someone else allready has said. so here is a thought about taking luck. if luck is taken and sits behind manning for a few years, indy has a probable replacement sitting in the wing, don't know how a player is going to be until they are drafted aka leaf. if the number whatever indy ends up with, is traded away for a treaser chest of picks/players, does the fanbase realize that this season and maybe ore are in the future until another qb can step in and take control of the offense. before anyone starts saying anything, how many qb's did indy start between elway and manning? answer is alot, so when making up your decision on manning or luck kinda keep all this in mind. and again i apologize if i have repeated someone/others comment on this matter.

  7. lets see,

    a hc who took us to the super bowl and got outcouched(don't worry no-one does a onside kick at the beginning of a half.)

    a hc who has the look on his face as if he just did a no-no in his pants.

    a hc who doesn't know how to use his timeouts wisely(cost us the Jets game).

    a hc that 2 years removes from a superbowl appearance barely gets 2 wins against teams without thier stars and late in the season when the games are meaningless.

    let me just say...NO!

  8. Did someome mention Bert Jones...Ahhh the memories, he's the reason I became a Colts fan, that and the uniform.

    Here comes the monkey wrench. In the past, the salary cap would put a meaning to winning, as in, if your team wins it doesn't get draft pick, and a owner would save some cash by not drafting a player a a high draft pick, save a little at 8-10 enstead of the top 5. Remember I'm just speculating here.

    Now , today we have rookie salary cap, no more instant multi-millionare, so teams can draft high and not spend alot of money on a player that could end up being a bust.

    So by putting the two remarks together, yes, today, a team could tank on purpose to get a better draft position. But I don't see most NFL teams doing that, it just doesn't fit the scheme of the sport.

    And to let anyone think I was referring to this team, by no meas was I, this team didn't give up, especially the defense, didn't miss one game this year, wasn't the greatest season but I enjoyed it, 'cause I'm a football first.Be gentle on me please.
