Ebukam is a free agent. You know Ballard isn't letting one of his draft picks out the door for a guy on a short term contract. And Dayo is more of an interior lineman who can play edge. He isn't a full time edge. I don't think we ever were fooled by what Paye was when we drafted him. We knew he wasn't a high sack player. Both of the edges in this D don't have to be high sack guys. One guy can be more of the run stuffer. And the other guy more of the high sack guy. It's good if you can get big numbers out of both but one of them is the more run stuff specialist.

Yeah let the better pass rusher walk and keep the drafted players. Go Colts

I agree. In a normal draft that doesn’t have such a deep group of top WRs, BTJ and Mitchell would be picked much higher in the first round. They are both outstanding prospects. Which is why you can get a great receiver by waiting and not making a desperate trade up. I don’t see Ballard making such a move. If anything, he trades down slightly in the first round and gets another decent Day 2 pick. But that said, either BTJ or Mitchell would be terrific additions to the Colts.

It would be of great benefit to get quality over quantity. Don’t agree on trading down.

This draft is loaded with wr's. Why would you draft one at 15 when you can probably get a good one with your 2nd pick? You draft a 2nd round corner and there is quite a drop off and you are looking at primarily zone corners. Man corners go fast. Why do you think the Chiefs won the Superbowl. Very good D line with a franchise DT. Franchise Qb, average wr's and elite to very good corner play.

The rule changes have changed the game and my beliefs as well. I just don’t think a defense has much of a chance anymore.

If the rules favor the offense, that would make me think the opposite. U should be able to draft lesser offensive players as they should be able to thrive in today's game because of the rules. U need high-end defensive players because of the rule changes and what is expected of them. Could u imagine playing corner now days?

I’ll take the other side. Take the best offensive players because you better score on just about every possession. Unless you can get beasts on the defensive line. There’s not many of those to be had.

About Luck being around Indy still.   He has a home in Indy said to be 5-10 mins from the facility.   He also has two other homes.   One in Houston where he was raised and where most of his family still lives and one in the Bay Area just a few minutes from the Stanford campus.

I don’t know which one he spends the most time in, but if I had to guess, it would be the Bay Area where he and wife Nicole met.  But Luck LOVES Indy.  I’m not surprised he’s often around.

I wonder how he keeps the squatters out?

well gotta break the streak of no new Luck related threads in several weeks…

For those still holding out some fantasy level of hope of Luck returning, he put that to bed. It’s over.

Yeah, he has a past of being injured quite a bit but hopefully as he matures, he plays smarter. Having Taylor is huge. We are about to find out in 2024 if AR is durable or not. He is built like a brick house which is puzzling regarding his injuries.

That’s what’s so puzzling about him. Being a big strong quarterback is surprising that he seems to get injured so often.

Yeah, that is a lot. When the guy is healthy he is amazing, let's hope he can be durable. Having Taylor should help with him running the ball 20 times a game or so.

Looks like his durability is highly suspect. I never realized he has been hurt so often.

But he did not win or lose those by himself. Pittsburgh got a steal in the trade. Chicago could have received more. Most people agree.

He didn’t win or lose the games by himself agreed. One stat that jumps out besides only winning ten games in three years is he only passed for over 300 yards one time. These are the reasons the Bears are moving on. Most people only see the highlights of what Fields did in the games. He was so inconsistent in the routine plays.

Yes we do. They literally have represented the team at various meetings. All 3 are vice-chair and co-owners of the team. Carli was reportedly very involved in the interview process and subsequent hiring of Steichen.

you are just making stuff up to try fit your narrative at this point… We don’t know that Jim has even been involved since December. That is more believable than his daughters (especially Carli who is on the sideline every game with a headset on) don’t have any influence. That’s hilarious to assume that the ones that are in the process of taking the team over, and possibly sooner than later, are not involved in decision-making. Like, what? Have you been involved in a succession plan? They are Jim’s legacy…

Then if I am to assume what you stated is correct, Colts fans don’t have a lot to look forward to in the future. Ownership is holding them back IMO.

I don’t think you have paid attention to the results of the new owners of the league. Not good, at all. And some of the wealthiest ones at that. The Walton’s put an entire team together in Denver and it’s been nothing less than a disaster. David tepper in Carolina is the worst owner in the league, but has about as much as anyone. Washington will always be a disaster.

I’m suggesting his daughter would be an improvement. You are absolutely right about Denver and Carolina.
