Very possible...but if a first rd grade falls into rd 2....wow we could really use that...heck I'm fine taking back to back picks for our secondary. We desperately need it. We need some guys that will harass these opposing wideouts....and most importantly tackle on the outside. I just know I will be disappointed if we don't find a future starter at corner from this draft. So much potential...hard to pass up. We are very fortunate that the wrs and qbs in our division aren't that scary...and we could afford to bring along a rookie with Vontae taking the primary recievers.

Very true never pass up a 1st round talent in the 2nd. Idk how I feel about going that hard on the secondary tho. The impact really needs to be on the pass rush, deion sanders could get beat with a 25% hurry rate. That's laughable. I'd love taking White from LSU if there gareon Conley, but the 1st round would have to be an impact pass rush. I'd rather double up on pass rush, then take the corner in the 3rd. Sure maybe a Carroll Phillips falls to the 3rd, I'd rather take a rasoul douglas, Kevin king, fabain monreau, Jordan lewis!! There's just so many dam corners they won't all go!!

Yes that's the right tape. But he made some other plays in coverage as well. He's not Davis or Foster in coverage but he's way better than Morrison.

Ohhh man are you right about that brother!! Antonio, as great instincts in the run game, but dam he eats booty hole in any coverage. I'm on the fence about Edwin, could always use an upgrade tho

They both have more than 700 carries?      Really?

    Uuuggh.      That's not good.

Scouts think of that as having lost way too much tread off the tires.     That a RB has only so many quality carries in the body and that's why it's good for a RB who has shown enough as a Sophomore and Junior to leave school early.       Once you've shown what you can do --- come out!      Turn pro.

That's heavy duty mileage for a RB.      Not good.     For a number of teams,  that will be a red flag.    Very disappointing to learn that......     (Sigh....)

That's a bit over rated IMO, in the NFL most backs split carries unless they're Zeke or leveon. A 4th round guy won't be running the ball 30 times a game like he did in college, especially with Andrew as his QB!! They'd be lucky to get 15-20, another back gets 10-15, and then Andrew airs it out 25-35 times a game. That should be the game plan if we where smart.

Love McKinley. He's my no.1 choice for the 1st round right now. The impending surgery doesn't bother much since its a shoulder labrum. If it was a meniscus or any lower body ailment it would be different but a shoulder labrum doesn't bother me.

McMillan concerns me. Complete lack of explosion in the run game, not a big hitter, and he hasn't got the athleticism to be a good cover LB. IMO we already have 2 or 3 of him on the roster.

Got to say I had never even heard of Sickels. After watching a few highlights I actually realy like him. He's an outside rusher that has a big motor. He plays violent with a good speed rush. Would be interested to see more as a situational rusher. Strikes me as a 3rd/4th round kid.

Kevin King would be great but likely gone by then.

Check out Derek rivers, small school freak of nature edge that could possibly be there in 4th

He can cover. Watch him against Penn State and Oklahoma state.

McMillan right? Just making sure, but against Penn state I remember off the top of my head the broken up pass in the end zone against the next great RB imo Saquan Barkley. But man was he actually burnt in the play, a very under thrown pass and in the NFL if you don't turn around and make a play on the ball that contact is illegal. That was a flag at the next level to me. I'll go back and watch those games tho, I wouldn't mind taking a ILB in the 2nd, I think either McMillan, Davis, maybe even Cunningham could fall depending on who passes who by April

Hunt had a very good day today on Day 1.

Interestingly,  he weighed in at 208.    Down from his normal playing weight.

The names that I'm seeing in this thread,  Hunt, Williams,  Hill, and perhaps a few others are the guys I'm looking for the Colts to take in R4.       I think they'd be great candidates for the Colts.

208? That is a huge concern for me. Unless he's cutting weight to get a faster 40, and then bulk back up. But man I hate hearing that

  6. What are the chances of us using both 4s to move back up into the third to take jamal willams, kareem hunt, Joe mixon maybe, Wayne gallaman? I think the 3rd round is full of 2nd round talent at RB and CB so why not double dip? By the 4th things will be pretty dried up, I'd rather have an impact player then two average players.

I wouldn't get rid of Gore.  I think he's still a stud that brings it ... and thus I wouldn't use the 1st rounder on an RB, thus once again failing to invest a very high pick on the defensive side of things.  I'd rather keep Gore, go D early in the draft, and perhaps use a lower pick on an RB.

Man its been half a decade since frank gore could be consider a "stud". Dont think it needs to be 1st but a young RB has to be added and a run game has to be established. Andrew just had surgery on that shoulder becuz he has to carry this offense no help in the back feild

I would love to have a couple of these guys. If we can land a rush lb in rd 1 and get one of these guys in the second and then maybe come back in the 4th with one of our two picks to get another I would be thrilled. I'd love to find a future partner for Vontae and maybe a slot in a year or so that we could have a njce secondary to pair with our big hitting safeties.

I think the real value of the corner position will be in the 3rd. There's just so many with 2nd round grades, I think one will fall right into our laps in the 3rd

Him and Brian Hill and Jamaal Williams are guys that I like a lot

I love Kareem and Jamal Williams, I'm hoping they could fall to maybe the 4th. Brian Hill is a bit over rated imo, not a great athlete, very stiff hipped not elusive, and has stone hands is more of a 2 down back.

He or Williams are who I would have my eye on in about the 4th round. Good balance and vision but a really unique running style that actually reminds me a lot of Joseph Addai.

Kareem could be much better then Joseph addai. He's a true 225 and very physical, but also has fluid hips and elusiveness like Joseph. I get your comparison, but I feel kareem as more potential. Jamal is just a flat out beast of a RB and probably my fave mid round back, kareem is right there too tho

No, that is not what we need.  One big name maybe, but theres no reason to go nuts in FA, because, lik the Giants, spending big doesn't mean big results - something the Giants are now dealing with as they are prepping for next years draft.

Granted the giants looked bad in the playoffs, but they turned that organization around in 1 off season are you kidding that's exactly what we need. Those big money big name free agents they signed, they all balled Tf out!! 3 big time players changed that entire defense, drafted well, and they where a top 10 D I'm Almost positive but too lazy to look up. The young players they already had on D(Landon Collins,DRC,JPP)all got better becuz of it. I know for a fact the year be4, when they picked 10th overall in the draft, they had one of the worst Defenses in the league. Probably idk 30th, that sounds familiar

  11. My ideal, maybe dreaming, first 3 rounds

14/15- Solomon Thomas, all tho most would say he's not the ideal scheme fit, I think he can literally play Every position in 3-4

2nd and 3rd- for any pick between 20-30 if TJ Watt is still there

Thoughts? Not sure how realistic a 2nd and 3rd for a late 1 is, doesn't seem too outlandish. Imagine the turn around wed have in our front seven if we sign a NT, a ILB, and maybe a corner in free agency. Those positions have multiple options in free agency .

It's unlikely that we could find a better RB in the 5th round then Lacy.  Sure you can always find the one late round pick/UDFA that turns out to be a good player after the fact.  But you can't point to who those guys are ahead of time and you also ignore the multitudes of late round/UDFA players that do absolutely nothing at the NFL level.

Lacy has never had less then 4 yards per carry on the season.  Last year in limited action he was up to 5.1 yards per carry.

He's a solid back who will probably go for cheap because he had one year where he gained some weight and then promptly lost it next year.  The weight gain for the record didn't stop him from getting 4 yards per carry.

Eddie Lacy really struggled on the field last year, he might have lost some weight last off season but he still looked wayyyy too fat to play RB. I'm def with you on bringing in a young guy to groom behind frank for a year, but Lacy doesn't give you anything Frank doesn't, another slow unexplosive back. Maybe not the 5th, but 4th if there's somebody in the 3rd we like that's cool too.

I could see Poe walking because the Chiefs have some other big names to pay.  But I didn't say they'd all get re-signed.  I just think a big portion of the 32 named will get re-signed or tagged.  We see it every year.

Right, but a lot of teams are ganna have to get into bidding wars becuz of multiple big name free agents. If we hire a good GM he should go to every expense to at least try to have a NY Giants type off season

We have big money and we need 2-3 big time EDGE rushers. 2 in the first 3 rounds and a guy like Perry or Ingram in FA. We need a CB. There's a bunch of good CB's hitting the market. I think we need to go all in on Perry/Ingram, one of the CB's, I love Bouye, and maybe 2 of Brandon Williams, TJ Lang, and Zach Brown. We have the money to sign all 5 though.

Perry and Ingram won't hit the open market. I like bouye a lot too I'd give him 12 mil a year, definitely not getting 2 big name corners. Brandon Williams I love, I'll give him 8-10 mil a yr. Zach brown I love give him 8 mil a yr. And that's it, all that other stuff is extra and not realistic. Even signing these 3 will be hard to do but possible, definitely more realistic. We are not the only team with money so if we want to sign anybody we have to "over pay" for guys, but if they produce then its all worth it

  14. 14 hours ago, Valpo2004 said:

All those guys are gonna be getting big money contracts.

Honestly if we're not going to draft an RB I think we should consider signing Lacy if he's not too expensive.

We can find a better RB in the 5th round honestly

    13 hours ago, OffensivelyPC said:

Most of these guys are not hitting free agency.  They'll get re-signed and some tagged.

The edge guy will not, Dontari Poe will unless u think cheifs will let Eric berry walk first. Brandon Williams wants big money so let's get into a bidding war. Logan Ryan of the new England patriots is criminally underpaid, 700,000 a year. He's the most versatile corner in the league and I'll give him 12 mil a yr. They got to pay Donta Hightower and Malcolm butler I'd like to seem them match 12 mil a yr. And Zach brown played 1 year for buffalo for 1.25 mil. He doesn't feel indebted to that organization, let's see if buffalo can match 8 mil a year.

Nick Perry/Melvin Ingram, AJ Bouye, Brandon Williams, Zach Brown, and TJ Lang would be a great FA. It'd be probably 2 big money signings, and 3 average deals money wise.

All those guys are getting big money, also we do have the draft dont need to fill every need in free agency. CB or edge cuz they'll be big money, zach brown cuz no other ilb compares in free agency, and a NT Poe or Williams. 3 Defensive game changers and build around throw the draft.

  16. Frank would make dalvin elite in one off season never cut frank let him walk away with class he's a hall of famer. Love how you let Walden walk, we gotta give jack more money then that another team will. Gilmore is cool think hell be more around 12-14 mil/yr but for that money I'd rather have logan Ryan from new england most underrated DB in football. Alshon Jeffrey man come on really? Nooooo wayyy in hell!! 15 mil a year for another WR? No, no way that's a grigson move right there. I love zach brown he's the only ilb worth anything this year, that's why hell command probably about 8 mil/yr which would still be so worth it. The edge guys in reality will get signed or tagged, but a NT like Brandon Williams for 8 mil/yr or Dontari Poe. Your draft tho.....ooooooooo if it happened I'd go crazy. Dalvin not only improves our run game but takes pressure off Andrew who tends to force throws becuz he's our only Offense. Smoot is really nice a like a few guys better like TJ watt or Ryan Anderson but they may not be there. If Carl Lawson is there in the 3rd he'd be a steal, most likely a 2nd round guy tho.

  17. Imo the most ideal/ realistic free agent off season haul should look like this

    Zach Brown 8 mil/yr

    Logan Ryan 12mil/yr

    Brandon Williams 8mil/yr

This changes the D drastically, and then you draft around these guys. Everybody wants us to spend money on our Online but at some point we just need to let young guys develop. You know what would help Andrew take less hits, A RUNNING GAME! A RB who's not a year away from retirement and can run the ball more the 10-15 times a game would help this offense and Andrew reach their full potential. Peyton had Edgerain James give Andrew something

I like it. I just wouldn't take Tim Williams in the first. Mainly because of his character issues, but I also feel he's a little overrated.

I would agree with everyone and say I would pass on Williams and try and get McKinley if available.  I see him as a better fit and an instant impact.  McMillan I like but I would hope for someone like Kamara if available in the 3rd. (probably will not be though).  He has better hands than Foreman and we need a pass catching threat out of the backfield IMO.

Not a huge fan either. If we traded down and received an extra 2nd or 3rd and picked Tim Williams, I'd be fine with it. At this time, with his character concerns, there will be better options at 14 or 15. Fine with McMillian, though I prefer Jarrad Davis over him there. Davis may or may not fall, but your 2nd round pick is my favorite of the 3. Last pick, I don't mind the position, but Foreman is a reach. Rather have someone like Samaje Perine there. Kamara and Gallman are also better options IMO. I think the positions are fine, but the players are dreadful in those rounds.

23 hours ago, Jared Cisneros said:

I'm basing it on research I've done so far and personal preference. Williams will definitely fall a bit. At best, he's a decent pick that we could of gotten slightly later, at worst, he's a burnout with character issues and we wasted a 1st rounder. He is a solid pass rusher, so I'm willing to take a chance, but only if we trade down and pick up an insurance pick as well. I like McMillian and completely agree. Only disagreement is I like Jarrad Davis a lot better and have him ranked as the 3rd best ILB behind foster and cunningham. Not much disagreement there except for a different preference. Foreman I'm just not the biggest fan of, I think he'll be overdrafted. I like Perine, Kamara, and Gallman better right now. I would much rather have any of them in the 3rd. Foreman may go before them though.

Go watch some film!! Do some research on the guy. Is he a druggy? Is it fair to call him a potential burn out? When his "character issues" involve him carrying his legally owned weapon without the proper documentation, still stupid, but a burn out? That's a joke.Tak McKinley I like, but he's kind of a stiff athlete who wins more with effort which is great, but Tim beats you be4 you even have a chance. Derek Barnett is very talented, dont think hell excell in a 3-4 scheme and if he is forced into one, homeboy gotta lose a lot of body fat and again not the ideal athlete for an edge. Teams will have to scheme for tim, like I said go watch some film, I haven't seen a get off that dirty since von Miller. Not as complete as Von, and tim needs to bulk up ALOT but I think after the combine you guys will change your minds

Nixon would be my choice too,  but I suspect he'll be gone before we'd consider him in MAYBE the 4th round or so.....     some team will spend a pick on him I think on Day 2.

And, on the off-chance that Mixon is there when we pick,  I think the final call comes from Irsay and not Grigson. That will be a really interesting test for the Colts if suddenly he's still there on Day 3.

He won't be there day 3 man. Please hate on me ppl cuz I want him with our 2nd round pick. Use the 3 and comp 4 to trade pack up in the 2nd, around 20-25 in round preferably, and take another top tier defender

ironically I feel like this year he and our entire offense crapped the bed,  hard,  in clutch time.  Which was very weird to see since IMO Luck has been the most clutch QB since entering the league.

Seem like the Lions stole our mojo this year lol

You are absolutely right. I love Andrew just as much as all of you but he is not the perfect god among men that we all like to make him to be. As much as it pains me Andrew has a turnover problem. He might not throw pics on the last drive of a game, but in big games especially this year he hurt the team badly with turnovers. The game against Oakland proves my point perfectly. Second game against Houston as well. He really just tries to do too much and its hard to blame him with the supporting cast he has but he needs to work on the turnovers, and he needs a running game or hell throw close to 15 pics every year
