The loss that stood out the most to me was the Chargers loss ... Missed 3 kicks that would have won the game without going into overtime. But, yeah, how do you lose to the Dolphins?
-
Well after getting hit and flung on top of the cart, he was in bad position to hit the brakes ... There was also a red whatever stuck under the brake peddle. The guy hustling to stop it knew exactly what to do. I wonder if he lost his job, or at least cart driving privileges.

Ballard has had some misses, and Grigson had some good picks (Like TY). Every GM has bad picks, and poor FA choices. It doesn't require hitting on every pick to be a good GM, but over time they do need to build a competitive team, with or without a great QB. Can the Colts upgrade the QB position by building a better team around JB, or will it require a QB change. I'm not sure I have a good feel for which direction will be best ... Other than the status quo isn't going to cut it.

I have no doubt more than 80% of us believed the Chiefs would win that game. I didn't make a prediction, but had I done so? Crow would be on the menu.
Great for the other 20% that drink the kool-aide 24/7

Those are like machinist type numbers. Dulin is 71-21/64" tall, and Campbell is 73-49/64" tall.
Is that on grass, or pavement? AM, or PM?

With several injuries that will both affect the Defense, as well as the Offense ... What winning O/D strategy will the Colts employ against the Raiders?
Break it down. (You guys are better than I am at this)
Offense
Heavy run without TY?
Short Passes to the TE-RB with zone blocking?
HELP!
Defense
Focus on defending the Run, or Pass?
And the Last Option.
Just win the D*** Game, we are better than the Raiders.

I'm not one to think CK can be better than JB ... But, Hoyer is another story. Who here thinks Hoyer can lead the Colts to a playoff, or big game win? I don't know if CK can, but I have zero confidence in Hoyer. I guess I am allowed to have my own opinion? Look at Hoyers history, is that supposed to give us hope?

Then you don't know much about NFL football. They brought him in for a reason. Kelly might be able to teach him how to score molly and cause a riot. If that were valuable to a starting NFL qb, I'm sure they would have kept him
Mrs. Hoyer I presume?

Best Taco this side of The Wall.

If Hoyer is on the field, it's pretty much already over. I don't think Hoyer can teach Brisset anything we would want him to learn.

Did they try to get a 7th? I didn't see that.

I thought Elway was a fool to cut Kelly. Mr. Irrelevant won the backup position out of camp, and would likely had replaced Keenum halfway through Denvers 2018 season. Reich doing Jim Kelly (ex-teamate) a favor by bringing Chad in with the Colts may be an absolute steal.

I wouldn't be shocked if Gruden trades Carr to the Colts.

Faulty logic
I guess that means Matt Cassel is a better QB than Andrew because he has been to SBs
I said DF should have a good season but JMO from TigerTown Cain Could have a Monster year too
Faulty logic:
Did Cassel play in the SB.

Kelly has talent. I was expecting him to be the starter for Denver at some point last season ... Then again, anyone could have been the starter for Denver the last few years.

Any signings after this coming Tuesday don't count for or against you in compensatory draft picks.....
The conclusion to this story will likely reveal itself shortly thereafter!
Because Berry was released by the Chiefs, he wouldn't count in the compensatory calculation.

Only Peyton can GM/Coach this team into the next decade.
He knows exactly what Luck is going through.
-
Anderson has been a stud.
Please let him really be as good as he looks like he can be.
Good thing Pep is on the other side of the ball.
-
Maybe its the homer in me but I really feel we will get this going, even with Peps ignorant play calling and subs. Frank gets some rhythm going and he takes him out or calls a tackle eligible pass. It just doesn't make any sense. We drafted two tight ends back to back rounds and don't even use them, its a joke that our tackle has as many targets as Fleener. Really unfortunate he didn't get a HC job last year. My bright spots are the same, Henry, Parry, Gore and Adams. If this offense gets going, we might have something.
Can we put Pep on IR?
Or at least trade all the players he doesn't use for players he would use.

Many were all over the Colts on this forum about the number of pass plays called against the Bills saying that's why we lost but I beg to differ. Brady attempted almost 60 passes against that Bills defense ON THE ROAD to the tune of nearly 500 passing yds with 3 ROOKIE o-lineman starting against that Rex Ryan front seven. The announcers pointed out how the week before the Pats lined up and attacked primarily from the two te set but against the Bills used mostly a four wide spread, no huddle, SHORT passing game to exploit the Bills secondary. The run was sprinkled in to keep the defense from pinning its ears back. I do believe the Colts ABANDONED the run too soon against the Bills but I also believe the passing game looks like a work in progress with no flow or direction. If you line up TY, Johnson, Moncrief and Dorsett in a four wide hurry up there aren't too many teams with ENOUGH quality cbs to cover everybody. Too many times the Colts look for the deep ball instead of the quick pass which in turn will HELP a shaky o-line. Speaking of the run game the sweep to the side of AC should become a STAPLE in the playbook until teams show they can stop it INSTEAD of the coaches not calling it.
Exactly ... A short accurate passing game is as effective as a strong running game. We (The Colts) have the weapons to do exactly what the Patriots do when facing a team that has a defensive front 7 like the Bills have.

"Without an offensive line"????
Luck was the problem not the offensive line. He's the one who thought it was smart to run 18 straight pass plays, but I guess that's the offensive line's fault right?
Was it Luck that called 18 straight pass plays? If it was, then I have been assigning the blame incorrectly. Then again, it wasn't the 18 straight pass plays, it was the type of pass play. Teams aren't going to believe you can beat them throwing deep over and over ... until you can at least go up by 2 scores by throwing deep.
-
With TY and Dorsett now, we should be running slants and throwing short passes like crazy. That is what the Pats do with Edelman and Amendola and nobody can stop it.
This is my point exactly! In my opinion, our receivers are far more talented than the Patriots receivers. However, their scheme is much more elaborate, and makes it easy for their receivers to get open, and it also makes it easy for their QB.
If we do something similar, I see no reason why we can't be as successful with more talent.
Exactly ... But do our coaches have the vision to see the benefit? Honestly, I am glad Belichick doesn't have our WR group.

I'm not a believer in being predictable.
Drop back and throw it to TY Hilton isn't a game plan, unless the game plan is to put Luck, and TY Hilton on IR before game 4.
There was a point in the 1st half of the Bills game where just a couple TE screens, pitch plays, slants ...etc would have slowed down the pass rush. The Patriots (for example) made 1st down after 1st down with short safe passes ... drove the field consuming enough time to wear down the Bills defense, and at opportune times hitting their big TE's (Gronk, and even Chandler), that was demoralizing to the Bills defense. These drives gave their defense a break, scored points, and gave the Bills reason to believe they couldn't stop the Patriots offense.
Do we want to have our defense on the field for 40 minutes in every game? Just move the chains 10 yards at a time, and make them beat you. Stay On The Field.
You don't "have" to run the ball ... but you have to pick up enough yards to give yourself options on 3rd down. What the Patriots did against the Bills wasn't anything the Colts couldn't have done. The Patriots ... simply put ... Have better game plans, and do a much better job of play calling.
-
Ready? Ask Aaron Rogers if the Bills defense is any good and that was without Ryan as head coach. Pagano has zero to do with penalties and turnovers. And that in itself is why the Colts lost to the Bills. The Bills first game at home with a new coach was a buss saw. The Colts couldn't have a worse team to face opening the season with. It also takes a whole team effort, not just the QB.
Re-watch the 1st half, and when you think ... "This would be a good place for a run play"
Pep would call a pass play. Over, and over, and over.........
The play calling never kept the Bills honest. They pinned their ears back and went after Luck the entire first half.

I wonder if we can trade him for Jerry Hughes.

I can't recall if it was Polian or Dungy that said (Paraphrasing) "Players make their biggest jump in capabilities during their 2nd year" ... So I am holding out hope for Rock Ya-Sin. After Brees went 29/30 and could have easily been 30/30 it was quite evident we need secondary help ... badly!
Chris Harris will most likely be available ... Maybe a bit past his prime though.
