  1. ......................of course there are no guarentees......why draft anybody then?.............Colts will need a new kicker soon......seems like this year is the perfect year to draft one.....

Again agreed.. just the same reason why we didn't keep all our other vets around.. why keep the kicker. Some people can't move on it seems. We already moved on from Peyton lets just keep going.

  2. I agree.. but people in this forum will say his contract isnt going to matter and you might as well keep him instead of wasting time cutting and then picking up a player that isnt going to make a difference.

  3. The Colts have one of the best uniform COLORS of any sport...but the design itself is hardly distinguishable from say....the Jets, or the Browns. The COLOR is what makes the Colts uniform great...not the 'classic look' that many other teams have as well. Changing a uniform design up a bit doesnt spit on history...it doesnt undermine what the franchise represents...your brand wont be harmed if they introduced a different or alternate jersey. The logo is staying the same, the colors are staying the same. I'm sorry to tell you, but the Colts arent historically significant in a way that one would think 'how dare they fiddle with that untouchable jersey'. They arent like the Yankees or the Celtics (who, by the way, introduced a few alternate jerseys a few years ago and their brand hasnt suffered. I like some of the possibilities that have been teased...and I wouldnt be against seeing some of the 'less crazy' ones find their way into the NFL at some point.

    Agreed

    "

Indianapolis has been down this road before, and managed the situation creatively. In 2007, the Colts selected

    Anthony Gonzalez

, an Ohio State fourth-year junior, with their first-round pick. Ohio State, like Stanford, is on the quarter system, so Gonzalez couldn't report until mid-June. So then-quarterback

    Peyton Manning

went to the receiver, taking it upon himself to drive the three hours to Columbus to teach the rookie the offense."

Edit: Sorry mods if this is in the wrong place.

Peyton wasted his time since he never could get healthy enough to play.

  5. Tom Brady and many other Steelers/Raiders players have restructured their contracts to free up money for their teams to sign FAs.. why would we wait to restructure his where we could get 14 million dollars to sign more people?

  6. No trust me I understand everything, but his agent is Peyton's agent. Im sure he could make more money elsewhere and hes not willing to renegotiate otherwise it would of already happened.

  7. Colts GM Ryan Grigson was adamant at the Owners Meetings on Monday that the team will not be trading RE Dwight Freeney.

It sounds like the Colts are willing to swallow Freeney's $19 million cap number in order to field a competitive defense. "I'm looking forward to Dwight Freeney being part of the Colts' defense in 2012," Grigson said. "He will be a Colt." Freeney could play the Terrell Suggs right-end role with Robert Mathis ticketed for Jarret Johnson duties in Chuck Pagano's Ravens-like defense.
