Can I ask - to the bolded, can you share what you did to not settle for less than the best?  What tangible things did you do to alter the course of the Colts?  In those lean 2-14 years, what were doing to help?

I know this is a trolling question but OK I'll bite. I would build a culture of winning that transcends the coaches and the players...much like the Packers and Steelers have done and other teams are beginning to do Pats and Seahawks for example. I can't do anything about a 2-14 team but I don't have to like it or be calm and relaxed about it and I never will. The minute you believe there are "rebuilding" years is the minute you have accepted mediocre, that's all I'm saying. You get a pulse of the fan base by these posts and there are many that are crying out for nothing but the best and many that say calm down and relax, I stand with the nothing but the best crowd. My friend if you stand with the calm down and relax crowd have at it. I mean to offend no one on these posts but there is really a large group of people on these threads that think 8-8 is pretty darn good and it sickens me that's all.

I think you're very wrong about that.

I think you need to read the posts that I'm reading. I can copy and paste if you like. The difference is you think I'm wrong about that....why would I say that, I mean no one any harm I just read time after time on these threads on how we need to calm down and relax. I'm saying I see many posts that reflect this attitude of calm down a relax and this tells me these people are satisfied. I like the way Nick Saban or Bill Belichick is calm and relaxed when their teams are up 35 points.

I take offense to posters telling me that I'm the reason the Colts aren't good, because I don't scream into the wind every time they lose, because I'm settling for mediocrity, accusing me of being happy with a participation banner, etc. You've insinuated -- and you're not the first, and I'm sure you won't be the last -- that I'm an inferior fan, holding the rest of you back.

The bolded is especially off the mark, and again points to a lack of perspective.

The culture surrounding the Colts is not cancerous. Again, that's nonsense. The Colts have been one of the best teams in the league for a long time. They've slid back the past two seasons, and need a lot of work. That's a far cry from cancerous. Seriously, take a look around the league. Things get a lot work that the Colts, from their record to their postseason success, to everything else. It's more than overboard, it's an egregious misrepresentation of the state of the franchise.

None of this means I'm okay or content with what the Colts are doing or where they're at. Nothing I've said suggest the Colts are just one or two plays away from going to the Super Bowl.

So, I'm sorry that it offends you that I think your post is entirely lacking in sense. I'm not saying you don't know football or that your opinion isn't relevant. I'm saying that, on this point, I think what you're saying makes no sense. I stand by that.

I too stand by my original post. I didn't say you in particular but many that post on this forum are seriously satisfied with the state of the Colts, if you're one of those and if the shoe fits. My argument is we have been a good team in a crappy division for some time now and I'm amazed that many Colts fans won't recognize this. It's as if they've been blinded by our records in 2013 & 2014. We took advantage of a terrible division and rode that horse to the playoffs only to be pushed aside like a child being bullied on the playground. Again if anyone can't recognize this they are in deep denial. You can candy coat the current status of the team and maybe as a moderator you are obligated to do that. As a fan I am not obligated to accept the status quo and look forward to an 8-8 season with no chance of a Superbowl. The days of beating up on the AFC South are over and we are taking one step forward and 2 back all the while squandering the career of Andrew Luck and exposing him to undue physical harm. I am sincere when I say these things and I'm not "screaming into the win every time they lose" I have 2 eyes and can see for myself the current dysfunction of this organization. If you're happy with the current team then I have offended you and I am sorry but please don't tell me my sentiment is "nonsense".

    This sentiment is nonsense.

At the risk of speaking for the majority of the fanbase, including posters here, no one is content, comfortable or willing to endure bad seasons. What you have is fans who don't care to scream at the top of their lungs about how much they hate the staff every time something doesn't go right.

You also have some who recognize that teams with roster issues can't fix those issues overnight. Doesn't matter how you got there or who you want to fix it, you can't restock a roster with a snap of a finger. So when the season starts and you see that the Colts just aren't that good, there's little use in complaining about a "return to glory" when you know that the staff in charge want nothing more than to fix the problems the team has.

None of this means that everyone is okay with mediocre seasons. It's a matter of perspective, and this general complaint shows a lack of it. The Colts have actually put a pretty good product on the field for the majority of the last 20 years. This nonsense about a fanbase taking losing in stride is, again, nonsense.

Nonsense....I take offense to that. As a Colt fan for 50 years I've never settled for less than the best and I read the majority of the posts on this forum and I feel and read the sentiments of many and I mean many that post on this fourm. They are slow to acknowledge there is a problem. It's just when a parent has a child that has an addiction they always hope for the best and many times end up aiding in the addiction. It seems there are some that really believe this is a decent team and we're just a play or two or year away from the SB. The culture surrounding this team is cancerous and our record vs. teams with winning records is the true testament of our product from top to bottom. I also take offense of someone that has more seniority on this forum not taking the voice of a newer member seriously and calling it nonsense. Am I right? I do know the game and know a turd when I see one and the current Colts product is a turd vs. any winning team in the league. I am not happy with a participation banner nor never will be, is that nonsense?

  5. I agree with the post that started this conversation. I too am amazed at the willingness for fans, at least on this forum to relax and take losing in stride. These posters seem to mimic the product we have on the field and in the head office. Anyone that is "ok" with a few mediocre seasons is as big of a concern as the status of the 2016 Colts. I know there are other organizations that expect nothing but the best and are willing to take a hard look at the product that are marketing and themselves and make adjustments daily to produce the best product and nothing less.

  6. I've read all the posts and I'm amazed any of you are standing by Pagano's side. He is an absolute joke of a head coach, from the coaching personnel to the decisions on game day. Grigson is an * that sold a doped up owner a bill of goods....a "monster". Anyone who doesn't say they both needed to be fired last year much less nearly a year of mediocre football at best against sub .500 teams has not been watching the games or you're living under a rock somewhere. These two losers should have been gone long ago. There is absolutely no other conclusion "Fire them Now" instead of "Lock her Up".

  7. Catchable, seems like when TY has a good game he has a great game, when he doesn't get the ball early and often he seems a bit like Dez Bryant like he's just jogging down the field and following the DB. That is my knock on our WR's in general it seems like they are following the DB's moves instead of knowing where they are supposed to go, it really is sad...the team gave up today and you can't deny that. Gut this team before it's too late.

  8. I'd like to see the real questions, not the sorted questions from all over the US to show what national appeal this writer has. There is so much softball cover up for the pathetic excuse of a team we have on the field. Questions need to be asked about a timeline for resignation of the coaching staff and general manager. We need a date and a specific goal in mind that if we don't meet that goal they will resign or get fired. I think the fans deserve that.

  9. I was blown away by the decision to keep both of these losers. They promised a monster and we have a toothless, spineless, soft, weak bunch of losers to go with them. This is the NFL, 3 years to prove your worth that's what everyone says it will take to turn this team around into SB contenders. They had their 3 years and didn't produce they should have been gone. I get physically sick watching Pagano and the pathetic roster we have. Where's the Tylenol???

  10. I love your optimism but I'm afraid we're looking at 3-4 years to build a SB contending team. Don't forget you must beat the Patriots to get to the SB and we're 3-4 years away from that and though no one wants to admit it Luck is paid a LOT of money, I love him but it may behoove us to get a second tier QB and spend that money on OL and DL as well as a decent RB for future. I don't believe in giving big bucks for WR either. The Patriots get the tough possession type receivers and do OK I think so TY is definitely on the chopping block if it's me then Luck's money is good and we keep him. Someone will have to make some tough decisions when we get rid of the bums that are in charge at the moment. Go Colts...50 years and counting!!!!!

  11. I started complaining when Luck threw the interception, then beginning the 3rd quarter when the defense let the Texans rip off runs of 12, 15, 20, 10, 11 yards etc. It's like we did nothing at halftime to adjust and I mean have another plan if the Texans adjusted their defense and they did but we did nothing. How was the defense gassed when they were on the field about 50% less than the Texans defense. Lastly on another subject has anyone watched the press conferences and who are these so called reporters throwing these softball "touchy/feely" questions at Pagano and Luck. Why the hell doesn't someone ask the hard questions if there is a solution (and Chuck says there is) and he can't provide that solution would he entertain the idea of resigning if he can't do the job??? The press are handling him like a baby and it's disgusting.

  12.  Watching the Colts play makes watching the debates and the election headlines so much fun. It's been a long time since I've seen a team that choke in every aspect of the game even the special teams had a penalty or two we just happened to overcome. I can't begin to describe how sick and tired I am of no accountability in this organization. I just wished the fans would stay away from Lucas Oil Stadium until the dope head puts a decent team on the field. We absolutely suck from top to bottom, we're weak and get hurt every time we make a decent hit, I could go on and on and on....where's the Tylenol?

  13. They really don't get it Grigson or Pagano!!! I just listened to the first 20 minutes of the Colts roundtable audio w/Bob Lamey interviewing Grigson and Pagano they both mentioned shooting ourselves in the foot, the penalties, the missed tackles and of course the dropped passes among many other issues this team has but neither on mentioned the SIX SACKS Andrew Luck endured!! What will it take to get these guys heads out of their butts, wake up and smell the coffee and quit saying all the cliches that are just soundbites that anybody that ever watched a game in their life could come up with. I've been a fan for 50 years and I'm just sick to my stomach with both of these toothless guys that promised a "Monster" and delivered a "Turd". FIRE THEM NOW!!!
    Thanks, I needed that....whew. Where's the Tylenol...it's just Tuesday.

  14. Unless we want to continue our "Participant Award" mentality we need to clean house...then and only then can we begin to build a true "monster". This monster now has no teeth and we should always listen to the fan base they always know more about the team than the "talking heads". I agree with just about every negative review here on the team, management, coaching and ownership. These comments are brutally honest and correct. We are a bad team with no solution on the horizon, how we ever rewarded the current coaching and management with an extension is beyond belief. Just trying to be optimistic and staying positive is the problem with our culture at the heart, it's about winning plain a simple, that's why there is a scoreboard and they keep score.

  15. I don't think many people realize the damage done to the Colts for years to come by Pagano, Grigson and the rest of the jokers we call coaches. Only if you really follow this team did you know the Super Bowl talk this year was fairy dust sprinkled in some talking head's mind and we were never anything beyond a .500 team vs. the rest of the league. They have destroyed the Colts from the inside out and you can't run these guys out of Indy fast enough for me. I've got many posts on SB 16 months ago requesting these unprepared losers hit the door. I'd like to take some money for a u-haul or offer my truck to help speed up the process. Good riddance!!!

  16. Playoffs, playoffs, playoffs!!!!! Are you kidding, everyone is right...this ship has sailed. Lookin' forward to new coaches and hopefully GM. Like one other blogger wrote, this has been a problem for 2+ years as we've been only a .500 team outside the division. We have some major problems with talent, effort and coaching and management with this team. Sickening.

  17. I just went back to the thrashing we had in pre-season to the Eagles and others and read the different threads about how it's not time to panic that the Colts would be ready for the regular season and it was amazing how the same issues that plagued the Colts in pre-season are still there, It was clear in pre-season we had no depth but people were crying...don't panic it's only pre-season. It was clear we were shooting ourselves in the foot with penalties and people were crying...don't panic it's only pre-season and when I suggested it's a culture and coaching issue people were crying...don't panic it's only pre-season. When I suggested we already needed a coaching change in pre-season people LAUGHED and said...don't panice it's only pre-season. I HATE BEING RIGHT ALL THE TIME. I enjoy optimism but I prefer realism...IT IS TIME TO PANIC. GET RID OF GRIGSON...PAGANO...MANUSKY & HAMILTON AND LET THEM TAKE THEIR "MONSTER" WITH THEM.
