I cant stand the wait and not knowing. Please someone speculate. LOL
I'll speculate. The game will be won by whichever team is best prepared. It will be nothing more than this game. The win or loss will not mean anything in the future, because every contest is unique and is certainly not governed by past events.
-
But pats fans always say wins and losses are all that matters. Not that I'm shocked by your double standard
How has Manning helped the Broncos to 6-0? By throwing pick after pick - certainly not.
-
The defense has certainly bailed the offense out. I dont think that is a sustainable formula for success. At some poimt the offense has to do a better job. You cant count on the other teams ineptitude every week.
Kind of ironic, that Manning is the weak link on a team with a #1 defense. All those years his appologists complained about him needing to bail out the Colts weak defense. Now the Broncos' defense is the only reason that Peyton is not sitting on the bench like RG 3-13.
-
They could be like 1-5, it's amazing how things keep working out for them.
No 1-5 with Denver's defense. They would be wining impressively with a half decent offense and a QB who didn't throw INTs. How many pick-6 has Manning thrown this season?
-
Chuck's done enough to not be fired in-season. He's not Philbin, but I highly doubt he's back next year.
If it's another complete embarrassment defensively, to shake things up, I could see Manusky possibly being let go.
What's better about Pagano than Philbin?
-
Grigs hurt us when he didnt improve the line in 4 years
He was too busy figuring out how to rat on New England to actually build a team. Give him a break.
-
I'm glad your impressed with my investigative skills.
Should be "you're impressed". He doesn't own an impressed.
-
I hope Andre Johnson gets going. If he can, along with Gore, they should be able to at least put up more points.
All that matters is which team puts up more points. There are no trophies for runners-up.
-
As long as everyone curbs their enthusiasm we can weather this game against New England. We got blown out by Buffalo and blown out by the Jets, we barely squeaked by the Titans, and the Jaguars and we notched a 1 score victory over the Texans, who looked very poor.
Expecting victory is like expecting to win the lottery, sure it can happen, but it's not very likely.
It's pretty sad that government counts on people expecting to win the lottery in order to balance the budget.

No such thing as a sure W, just as the Falcons after last night.
I agree. That's why they play the games rather than let pundits decide who is the best team in the NFL. They can surely be dead wrong. Who would have thought the Colts would have fallen so far from the AFC Runner Up banner that was earned in 2014?
-
Oh god yes! The colts have the talent. And in their own house it could def happen.
ANY team in the NFL has the talent to beat any other team in the NFL. In a technical mismatch, like we have on Sunday, the Pats better not take the Colts lightly or they will lose.
-
Who covers The RB THAT Ryan does not know (lol) on the colts? That could be the mismatch Brady exploits all game.
I read that Ryan insisted after the game that he didn't know who Dion Lewis was. His (Ryan's) act failed on Broadway. Maybe it will play better in Hicksville.

This is from a Boston news outlet, but it is merely a compilation of what people around the country think about this game. They call it a "Prediction Roundup"
I expect Belichick does not subscribe to this kind of trash talk. Even in private. The Patriots could lose this game, no matter what the experts think.
-
what makes you say that?
I wasn't saying because I think the Colts are so amazing, I meant because there is a huge drop-off going from Brady to Garropolo....
Luck has not played especially well, and is still not certain to play. What is so amazing about the Colts that losing Brady would make the Patriots not able to even compete with the Colts?
-
This post is the most big-headed I have ever seen from any fan........ Is your fandom really so up Tom's rear-end that you cannot see how ridiculous you sound?
Sure, the Patriots are a great team, Bill Bellichick is one of, if not the GOAT coaches and Tom Brady is a machine, but to say what you have said above is ridiculous..... How about if Tom Brady gets injured before the game in practice or even during, still think the Pats win? I'd have serious doubt that the Pats would even be competitive in the game in that scenario...
Your last statement ties the post you quoted for "big-headedness".
-
That may all be well and good. I'm only saying that I can't see any scenario where the Patriots do not win this game, purely from a talent standpoint. The score may be debatable, but I can't see the Colts winning this game. That's even throwing aside all the other stuff and the fact Brady and Co. will want to embarrass you guys at home. The Patriots are just too tough.
You can't see any scenario? The Colts play better than the Patriots is one. The Pats have a bad game plan is two. Someone gets injured is three.
Any given Sunday, as they say. Or, as we saw last night, any given Thursday night.

ARLINGTON, Texas – You look at Tom Brady, and you have to wonder how different the narrative could have been. If, say, he started this season like Andrew Luck, dragging a 65.1 quarterback rating into October like an anchor. Or if Brady's mistakes and inefficiency had mirrored Luck's noxious cocktail: seven interceptions and a 56 percent completion rate. Slap those numbers under Brady's name, and they'd be used as pitchforks and torches.
Maybe his detractors would say the proof was on the field, that the New England Patriots' star had been exposed as a guy profiteering from deceit. Maybe they would go further, suggesting that meticulously regulated footballs had finally ended Brady's reign. Maybe they would try to burn his entire Hall of Fame career to the ground.

*. What head coach of any stature would want to work for him?
It wasn't an opinion, he was convicted. Is commenting on a fact a violation of board rules?

And this is what history says about 0 - 2 teams-
"Since the NFL expanded to a 12 team playoff format in 1990, only 23 teams of 204 to start 0-2 (11.2 percent) have overcome the winless start to make the postseason.
The recent numbers are even worse, as mentioned above: Since 2009, the only two teams to start 0-2 and make the playoffs were Carolina in 2013 and Indianapolis in 2014 have made the playoffs. To put it into third-grade mathematical terms, over the past six seasons you have a 4% chance of making the playoffs if you’re winless headed into Week 3."
Only 5 teams in the history of the NFL have made the playoffs after going 0 - 3 to start season.
ESPN's FPI has Philly at 55%, Seahawks at 54%, adn Colts at 51% chance tomake playoffs, despite the o - 2 records.
Baltimore Ravens are at 27%
So if the record doesn't get better, the Colts are not a playoff team. Doesn't mean they can't go 14-0 the rest of the way (no chance). But right now, they are winless. They are what their record shows.

This so reminds me of the 2001 season. At some point in the season Pollian decided Mora and staff had to go. My only concern is if we have a bad season we clean house and the make the mistake of hiring someone like Nick Saban or a big name coach who wants to rebuild...again...I truly believe it is Pep Hamilton..I dont blame Grigson for taking Dorsett because if we lost TY to free agency we would have needed a replacement. This loss burns more than any in the past..winds of change?
Except Pagano doesn't have the stones to go off the way that Mora did. His "rant" was weak.
-
That's about par for the course on Deadspin. They rip the Colts for that pretty regularly, and rightfully so.
I prefer to view it as ripping Irsay rather than our beloved Colts.
-
The comments included some pretty effective slams of the front office for the Participation Banner they hung.

Two weeks in. Granted a lot of games left but my guess is 9-7 or 10-6. I was thinking 13-3 before the season but I think that's doubtful at this point.
Right now it is 0-2. You are what your record says you are.

I guess you missed football 101. Do not create turnovers. Score when you have the ball. Don't give the other team extra possessions.
