  1. I'm unimpressed by his first two preseason games.

Is it bad QB play or is he maybe not what we thought he would be?

He's had one catch so far in both games, that's not gonna get you a roster spot.

Look at the passes thrown his way. Would TY or Johnson or even Reggie Wayne done any better? Have you heard a negative word from him? I think that he will not only make the team but eventually move ahead of some of the receivers ahead of him now. If we get some injuries, we are going to be glad for this depth at receiver. Stats aren't everything when you are playing with the third and fourth teamers.

  2. I'll likely get flamed a bit but intend only to add to the conversation. I remain woefully disappointed in Dungy. I feel he underachieved significantly. His awful Tampa-2 was conquered in the early 00's. He perhaps wasted Manning's prime or, at a minimum, underachieved. Dungy was consistently out-coached in playoffs. Belichik, Cowher, Turner. We had better teams than those coaches. Irsay will never pin it on Saint Dungy. But he's been clear that the Polian/Dungy era won't be duplicated (although I'm scratching my head over the TY deal - and not because I dislike TY).

Did y'all see Irsays "conversation" with Grigsy in the locker room in Foxboro post AFCCG? His face was maroon and lip reading produced an average ^^^ once per seven words. Irsay clearly won't stand for underachieving. While, Patriots were simply better than us last year, getting embarrassed by the same team twice in a year in the exact same game-plan/manner is awful coaching.

I have heard rumors (smoke where fire) that Irsay isn't crazy about #ChuckStrong. Note, I didn't say he disliked him. Just have heard that he has issues with Pagano's coaching and has let Grigsy know.

Those that agree with me will be countered with Pagano's record, never not made the playoffs, etc. We're "spoiled" and so on. You know what, maybe we are. But I am terrified at the prospect of winning the AFC-S annually and getting beat in the middle of the playoffs by better coached squads. Did y'all get sick of losing in the playoffs in the Dungy era? I'm terrified at wasting Luck on getting out-coached in the playoffs.

Why not see what #ChuckStrong does this season? (Much like I wish Grigsy did with TY before he was "Rosenhaused"). Put the pressure on Pagano. It's certainly arguable that we have the best team in the NFL. Why not expect a trip to the SB? Why not hesitate at the risk of annual under-achievement?

I wish Chuck Pagano an awesome season, a trip to the SB, and an earned extension. It's fairly clear to me that Grigson may have orders from above to see what happens in 2015.

The Colts never won squat before Dungy came here. That defense won one Super Bowl and probably should have won another. Polian just went into the HoF. Dungy will get there eventually. Who knows if Grigs or Pagano will ever get a Super Bowl. I happen to think that they will but that won't take aways from what Dungy accomplished in Indy. He was a winner and it is as simple as that. I don't think the Colts are the best team in the NFL. I think they are on the rise but there are still problems with that Oline and Dline. I think they have a chance of being the best in three years with more good drafts and depending on how the signing of our stars works out. Go Blue.....

  3. He's not worth 4m per. Not my call though.

I think Polian had the right idea with Painter. He was cheap and insured that we would have the first selection in the next year's draft.

Without Painter we would have no Luck.

So, are you suggesting that if Luck has a season ending injury, the Colts tank and win the first pick in the draft? What then, draft another franchise QB and cast Luck aside?

  4. I know Matt is a great teammate by all accounts (mentor etc.) but lord forbid if something happened to Luck I'm not sold on Matt to win ballgames without a dominate defense. I was all in for Matt as the backup behind a young Luck providing some veteran leadership to help with Luck's growth on a team that was ahead of schedule. Now going into a season with SB expectations by many, Matt with turn 40 when the season starts and I for one see the decline in skills that surfaced last season but I figured Matt would not be re-signed. I think Grigs is playing with fire especially with that suspect o-line. Thoughts?

I believe Matt is one of the most solid backups in the game. If Luck went down for the season, no backup QB would be able to keep on winning like he can. But, if Luck had to miss a game here or there, Matt would be an adequate replacement and give the team a chance to win.

  5. 7 mill over 2 years. I would bet very small amount guaranteed and most is for year 2.

Good for him. If he can get healthy, he could offer a lot to that team. I think it is worth the risk.

  6. if they won't pay him I bet someone else would gladly pay him

I also believe that. Put Eli in Houston and that team becomes very interesting indeed.

  7. Going to attempt to try this, on a very short leash.  Please be and post respectfully and accordingly.

This thread is for serious replies only as to what is your idea of a reasonable settlement between the NFL / Brady (NFLPA)

Additionally, relevant news concerning deflategate talks can be posted, or reasoned dialog about whether the judge will rule on whether the NFL followed process and meets the CBA standard in the judges eyes, or will he rule using bias, prejudice or other worthy item was present to deny the arbitration award. Things of this nature.

Be forewarned, old tired and worn out citations and accusations from previous threads will likely be removed in short order, to keep this thread clean for the anticipated upcoming news on the settlement or judges ruling(s).  Please don't abuse the thread and privilege to post in it or there may well be none allowed until after an official ruling is made, among other possible actions.  Thank you for your cooperation, in advance.

I have posted this before but it is buried in the muck of a closed thread.  I've have felt for a while now that the NFL should back off any posture requiring Brady to admit Guilt as in the Wells report.  I have no desire to see Tom Brady potentially open for a perjury suit.  Just drop that requirement, NFL.  Brady, you won't have to admit guilt, even though Wells report states it, and circumstantial evidence has many around the globe believing it.  Back of the fine only stance.  Accept a 1 game suspension for obstruction that your attorney Mr. Kessler orchestrated for you yesterday.  This is reasonable, and it needs to be shown reckless disregard to heed investigators requests for electronic data in the future may have ramifications of their own.  Also accept the token fine for obstruction as well, if administered.  It is the equipment tmapering part of the deal, without it being referred to that.

Then move on with your season and career, minus just 1 game.  If both sides feel upset they had to move to the middle, yet could still live with the end result, then both sides sign it and move on already.  Thank you NFL and NFLPA/Brady.

I do not believe Brady will accept any suspension. He might be willing to pay a small fine $25 K or less for destroying his phone. I also doubt the NFL will accept this. I think Brady will be reinstated and the whole thing will be decided in the courts later.

  8. My vote goes to the Texans:

    QB - Hoyer

    RB - Blue

    WR - Hopkins

    WR - Shorts

    TE - Graham

Besides Hopkins, who is a very good receiver, would any of these guys even be second team on, say, a squad like the Colts?

Who has a worse 5some than this?

I think you are being rough on the Texans. Graham would start for a lot of teams and Hopkins emergence made Johnson available. Yes, Hoyer, if he is the starter, is the weak link. Blue can be a very good running back. So, I think Hoyer and Shorts would not start for most teams.

  9. Try this on for size.

Maybe the NFL believed some texts were deleted. It's not out of the realm of possible action that both sides agreed to delete texts but couldn't accurately say that the same number of texts were deleted or even the same messages.

The NFL in the process of its investigation wants to compare the texts from both phones to compare and verify whether they match or not.

Brady and Yappy Yee get wind that they have text records of the Deflators phone and cannot verify what remains so they clam up. They can't interact without risk of being caught so they refuse to cooperate.

    Explains quite a bit really.

But of course Pats fans will say something crazy and deflect.

Didn't the Players Union and his lawyer tell Brady not to give up his phone? If I am paying for legal advice, I take it.

  10. NE in week 6 in Indy and Pittsburg there  in week 13 with Denver in week 9 in Indy and we beat them. So despite winning our (weak) division year after year our schedule looks pretty friendly. I am not sure why, not that I am complaining.  We have five night games. With a much improved offense and if they stay healthy this just might be a real fun year for the good guys.

I think the schedule will be more difficult than you do. I could see losing at least one game to Texas. I also think Buffalo will be tougher than most think. I expect 11-5 once again but 12-4 or 10-6 would not be a huge surprise.
