  1. Isn't it against forum rules to start a new account after you have been banned?

I have done nothing offensive. I am pleasent even when attacked. I have a valid point of view shared by many others. I will make sure to keep it that way. Your gripe here was with Peter King, not me. If I had not posted it someone else would have eventually. I even stated in the opening that I thought King was exagerating. If you don't like my posts why not just put me on ignore?

  2. He has made few players the highest paid players at their position....what makes you think he would be cheap when hiring a coach? Or just throwing a out more garbage?

He has not made a habit of hiring name coaches. Dungy was an exception. I don't have any problem with what he has done, it has worked for the most part. I was just commenting that I don't think bringing in a big name college coach is an option for Irsay.

  3. You didn't put sarcasm so I assume you're serious. I really see no problem with our front 7. This defense is gonna surprise a lot of people if Manusky uses all the pieces correctly and gets creative

Same way Offense should easily be top 5 if Pep uses everyone & gets creative

I agree the offense is going to be top five. This defense with rookie starters will be lucky to avoid being in the bottom five. They have gone in the wrong direction from last year and they were not so hot then.

  4. I hate this argument. If you take the best player off the team of course that team will struggle to win games. You can apply this to any sport. If the cavs didn't have Lebron would they be a playoff team? Probably not. There's countless examples that could be listed. If you take the best player on any team off it will hurt and usually hurt bad.

I think that is true when it is a QB. I doubt another position player would have that kind of impact. The closest might be Watt. Also, someteams have a backup QB that would not be that much of a dropoff. Only the true franchise QBs fall in the catagory of being irreplaceable.

  5. That's not what I meant. Just that BB is like Tom Landry. He has a system that works. Brady is great but I don't think he'd have 4 rings with other teams. Plus there's the Cassell factor. My bad though. That quote was taken way out of context because of how I wrote it.

Brady is great but when you talk about things like Arm strength, athleticism, accuracy,etc...there's several people ahead of him. In terms of pure QB skill I'd say Rodgers is 10 times better.

Now you were doing fine until you said "10 times better". The record doesn't indicate that and I am a big fan of Rodgers.

  6. Luck makes hardly any difference at all, he has a weak arm, the Colts defense is a mess and the Oline is in shambles.    :sarcasm:

Oh, Brady does not make a 4 or 5 game difference to the Patriots.

The last time he was injured for a year, the difference was seven games and they didn't make the playoff. Yes, the Colts defense is a mess and the Oline is just not very good. But there is certainly nothing wrong with Luck's arm. That is the topic here. He is so good and he makes the team so much better and that covers up the deficiencies you mentioned.

  7. I think Andrew Luck is the difference between this team being 11-5 (about what they will do again this year IMO) and 6-10 or less. Yes, I think he is that good and I also think the rest of the team is that mediocre. How much difference to all of you think he makes? I think some will think he makes an even greater difference than I do. I think Peyton in Denver makes a two or three game difference. I think Brady is a four or five game difference for the Pats. I expect the biggest margin in the league is Aaron Rodgers.

  8. The defense is......    is a mess?

It wasn't even a mess last year.       And so you think it's worse this year?

    Really?

Yes. Three rookies may be starting. There isn't a good nose tackle on the team. There have been injuries. There were no real substantive additions to that defense. When you consider those things, I think the defense will take a big step back. Add some injuries along the way and by the end of the year, it could be at the bottom of the NFL. I wish it were not so but I am afraid that it is.

  9. hard to believe hes not a patriot fan when hes from Massachusetts and writes a lot of pro patriot articles.  he also seems to hate the colts.

I don't think he hates the Colts at all. He just hasn't bought into the hype surrounding Luck but mentions how good he is. He is more critical of the Colt's defense or lack thereof. That is a professional observation. It has nothing to do with hate. Perhaps he also thought that griping about the balls after being whipped 45-7 was trying to win something in committee that they couldn't come close to on the field. It didn't work, it is over. It cost the Patriot's a million dollars (chicken feed) and a first and fourth round pick. They will recover from that and they will still be there because like him or hate him, they have the best coach in the NFL by a mile. Bring him here and the Colts start winning Super Bowls.

  10. im pretty sure that he is a patriot fan.  look at where hes from and the material he writes.

I have. You have to take into consideration that the Patriots, even though we hate it, have been the dominate NFL team for more than a decade. If he doesn't write about them, is he supposed to write about Jacksonville? He does write about Jacksonville but the best teams get the most coverage. I find him a good read with lots of great facts and takes on every team including the Colts.

  11. Frankly, no-one knows how this defense will do.  WAY to many new faces. especially in the front 7. Yes, it could be the bottom 3rd of the NFL...but it could also be a top 5 defense.  We just don't know.  And won't know till week 4-6 since these new faces will only get better week to week learning the system, and for some, adjusting to NFL speed.

I don't think there is any chance that they are top five but if they are, the Super Bowl possibility is very real. I think there is a chance if they are upper half of the NFL. However, like you, I can see them being in the bottom third and that will mean the team will go nowhere in the playoffs.

  12. likewise I see Dorsett stealing more snaps from Moncrief because of how easily he gains separation and not against just scrubs..Moncrief has the speed and size but he doesn't gain great seperation nor does he know how to use his size to his advantage yet I like em he just needs to learn to use his physical advantages to the best of his abilities.

I think Moncrief will play more because it is difficult to have two very small receivers in the game at once.

  13. I agree!!! Which is why the coaches MUST take on the mindset to come out in ATTACK MODE on offense. Put the PRESSURE on opposing team defenses by attacking weaknesses. If I play a team that CAN'T stop the run POUND them with Gore. If a team has a WEAK secondary SPREAD them out. I think another reason Chuck wants that ground and pound game is to KEEP the opposing offense on the bench because OUR defense is suspect but MOST teams that RELY on "ground and pound" have game manager qbs and have STRONG defenses.

I think the only real hope that this defense is at least mediocre is that the offense will keep them off of the field and they should not be worn out. That will be offset by the defense not being able to get off of the field with third and long.
