  1. EVERYBODY RELAX!!!!!!

First of all, if Philip Dorsett was the BPA on the Colts board (which it clearly seems), I am sure Grigson got Irsay's approval to go ahead with the pick. Everyone was excited about this year's WR group before this pick with Andre, TY, Moncreif, Duron along with the two tight ends except one thing is forgotten: only TY and Andre are sure to provide legitimate top notch contributions. For all we know Moncreif can have the same season and Duron could simply burn out and all you have is a slightly better WR corp than last year and we still don't have the offense to get over the Patriots... What dorsett does is add insurance, depth, and just general infusion of talent onto our offensive roster. If Moncreif breaks out next year and Duron contributes then great, we would have done well with our WR corp but what dorsett allows us to do is think about the future....

    WR Depth Chart Now:

    TY - Andre - Moncreif - Dorsett - Duron

    After 1/2 years?:

TY extended - Dorsett - Moncreif - and possibly still Duron

Thats called having a WR corp for an elite QB which you don't have to worry about....

WE STILL HAVE 8 picks left!!! if we spend one of them on RB, we can literally spend the rest on the defense and have atleast a good number "hit"... Look what grigson has done with draft picks lower down in the order: 5th rounder Chapman (rotational/starter), 5th rounder Newsome (rotational/progessing pass rusher), not to mention his usage of free agents...the guy clearly knows how to draft decently late in the draft and UDFA...He and Chuck have gone on the record to state that they are looking for starters in every round of the draft, whether it be potential starters with some "headache" cases or just guys that need to develop....

Obviously we won't spend 7 picks on Defense but I'm simply putting things into context....as for people talking about Brown and the other options? well collins would have probably started but is def not worth the spot as he can't do % against the pass and brown is still not known if he can become a all downs type of guy...I don't know about y'all but i would rather take a chance on a full time starter in the NFL as a WR rather than a decent two-down guy in the trenches which can technically be found later on...Nate Orchard is one to look at as well.

  2. Denver is probably a top 5 run defense (at the very least top 10) and we won't be able to gash out some runs at the tackles with Herron like we did against Cin. I think one of the commentators for the game put it best: our run game now is throwing it to our RBs out of the backfield and give them open space to work with. Every time Herron caught the ball last game, he always, i mean ALWAYS, made the first defender miss and gained at least 4-5 yards and more often more.

Our strategy with Denver should be:

Give the ball to Herron but you HAVE to give him open space to work with as it is his strong point. This means more screens, check downs (designated or not), etc.

Run normally SIMPLY to keep defenses honest and as a change of pace (but only on early downs and never more than once in a set of downs unless its 3rd and 1 or something).

Unfortunately we know that our WRs were getting blanketed fairly against the underrated Cin pass defense and it will only get worse against the star studded Denver DBs. TY is gonna break a few good routes but other than that, Andrew luck CANNOT force any into that defense. In a way, Cin was a good matchup for Andrew to "prep" for denver because both have a good defense. Only difference is that Denver has a pass rush and how Andrew responds to that will determine how our offense does.
