  1. Give people a break. They paid hard earned money to watch luck this season. He keeps his millions but those people are out thousands.  When the time comes, fans will honor him but emotions were too raw for that tonight.

  2. Hi everyone,

For the past 12 years, I've been a STH living in Indy.  I now find myself an STH living in Florida, which makes it a bit tougher to both get to games and watch them on TV.

I have a strategy to watch the regular season, but I'm not sure what my options are to watch pre-season games.  Do I have to tap into the Fox broadcast somehow, or are there a streaming option?

    Thanks!

Actually no, it came out days before the draft that the League would not allow it as he'd already filed and gone thru the combine.

Actually...The league would not allow it if he had gone undrafted (which he did).  The only way he would be allowed to sit out is if he was drafted.  He could simply choose not to sign with the team that drafted him and then enter the 2016 draft.  Here's part of an SI article which includes a quote from Greg Aiello along with an example of Bo Jackson doing the exact same thing:

Another report, this time from ESPN's Adam Schefter, then had Collins's camp stating that the LSU product would not sign with a team if he were taken in Round 4 or later, thereby giving him a backdoor opportunity to join the 2016 draft. There is precedent for that sort of move, with Bo Jackson serving as the most famous example. Jackson refused to play for Tampa Bay after being picked No. 1 in 1986, so he wound up an Oakland draft choice in 1987 after the Buccaneers' claim to his rights expired.

But with Collins going undrafted, his football options have become severely limited.

"If he’s not drafted [at all]? He would be the same as any other player in this draft," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told The MMQB's Robert Klemko. "He becomes a free agent like any other undrafted player. You only go through one draft. If he’s drafted and sits out the year, he would go back into the 2016 draft."

  4. Even before the start of this year, I was cautious about people saying Luck will be the highest paid player in the NFL.  He definitely will be one of the highest paid players, but people seem to have already anointed him as deserving of the biggest contract.  Luck is a beast when he is "on" but he seems to be equally as bad when he is "off".  I see no reason to make him the highest paid player, but he should be towards the top of the food chain.

  5. Don't spoil in here. I can go on twitter too, but don't want to. It's rude.

I agree. The whole "you won't believe who the Colts picked...get off the board so you're not angry.....they took a WR, I kid you not" was pretty lame last night. There's a reason the networks don't tell the pick before Goodell. It's pretty standard etiquette to not post things ahead of when they are broadcast. Perhaps you could start a separate thread for those who want to know early.

  6. If all I could get were 600 level seats, I would just stay home.

Maybe the top row of 600, but no all seats.  I sit in row 4 of the 600 level on the 35 yards line.  I love the seats.  You can't be in the middle of the field on the lower level without paying club level prices.  The 600 level seats in mid-field are a great option.  It seems the Colts agree since my section went up in price some.

  7. So it sounds like it's more of a judgement call.

Correct, ejection is a judgement call.

    The rulebook also states:

Note 1: Under no condition is an official to allow a player to shove, push, or strike him in an offensive, disrespectful, or unsportsmanlike manner

So what Walden or Kuechly did can be considered shoving or acting disrespectful or unsportsmanlike. Again, I don't agree with the rule, but if it's there, you have to be aware of it

That note ends by saying any such action should be reported to the commissioner. It doesn't state that such action warrants an automatic ejection. So again this is a judgment call. The rule is there, but it is definitely up to the discretion of the official whether or not Walden should have been ejected.
