  1. Man you are persistent.

Not really. I like Luck a lot but don't you think he needs to speed up getting rid of the ball? Am I not seeing it correctly? I know comparing a QB not yet in his third year to Peyton is not fair and I think he will improve in this area.

  2. :blueshoe:   NO FOOLIN'  - ENJOY YOUR "TWODAY TWOFER":

Several rule changes were implemented during the Owners Meeting in Orlando last week.  Today's "Twosday Twofer" will focus on a couple of those changes.

:blueshoe:   Thumbs up - OR - down on:  Allowing the field crew to confer with the officiating department at NFL headquarters in New York during replay review ??

:blueshoe:   Thumbs up - OR - down on:  Allowing the recovery of a loose ball to be a reviewable play beginning in 2014 ??

    Both are good moves.

  3. That's exactly what makes Luck better. Luck carried his team waaaay better than both Kap and Wilson despite terrible O-Line play. Kap has arguably the best O-Line in the NFL.

Luck may be better. We won't know as long as he is getting hammered behind that line. Now, how much of that is the line and how much of it is Luck be slow in his reads and getting to his secondary receivers? His delivery is certainly quick enough. His decision making may be a notch slow but that should improve and all of that pressure didn't help. I think Peyton could have played behind that line without giving up so many hits or sacks just because he does his reads at light speed and he gets rid of the ball. Luck doesn't do that yet.

  4. If we learn any lesson from Manning days, here is the to do list.

1.Never go to Tampa 2 defense

    2.Get a good special teams

3.Fix the line of scrimmage on both sides

There is nothing wrong with Tampa 2. It got to the super bowl several times and it won at least one of them.

    Luck > Wilson > Kap.

Wilson and Kap have stellar defenses on their teams to lean on. Plus Luck beat both of those QB's. If we had a defense last year, the Colts would've won the Super Bowl.

    Not behind that offensive line.

  6. I hate the whole Wilson > Luck debate.  Put Luck on the Seahawks and see what happens.  Andrew Luck has really carried the Colts on his back the past 2 years.  With the circumstances both players are in (Kaepernick is in this boat as well) Andrew Luck is doing far more with the resources at his disposal.

You might be right about that but I think if you put Wilson on the Colts the results here will be very similar. Wilson is a very good QB and he has to be rated ahead of Luck for now. I think if you put Luck in Houston after this draft that they would be Super Bowl contenders. But I also believe that Wilson would do that as well.

  7. I'd take Rivers and Cam off that list. Romo off to. Wilson and Kaepernick aren't any better then Luck they just have a better running game and defense right now. I'd put Manning on top he's the only one that took a team with some of the least talent in the league and made them a Superbowl contender for 12 years.

I don't think you can take Cam and Rivers off of the list and for right now for whatever the reasons, Wilson and Kaepernick have to be rated ahead of Luck.

  8. Colts need to win one before Luck gets that big contract that will cause the release of numerous players and the inability to sign other upper tier players ( see Ravens).

I agree with that. See 49ers and Seahawks.

  9. He's definitely at least top 10.

Well, lets consider that not that I think it is important since he is only starting his third year. Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers, Rivers, Big Ben, Flacco, Ryan, Wilson, Kaepernick, Cam Newton and I could make arguments for Tony Romo, and a few others. So I would say with confidence that he is a top 15 QB right now.

  10. I agree with you but Brady will still probably be in the league. He is iron man. Luck is already consider a top 5 QB. The Colts will be dangerous next season.

I love Luck but top 5?  Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers, and many others are ahead of him right now. He probably isn't even top ten but he certainly will be unless the coaching staff ties his hands and tries to force a running game.

  11. The gift that keeps on giving Clark (Christmas vacation movie quote by Randy Quaid).  That is RG3.

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000338040/article/jeff-fisher-rams-havent-talked-trade-for-pick-yet

They are going to build a great team there because of that trade. I have come to the conclusion that if a great package is offered for a draft pick, a team should take it no matter who is available or what their needs are. Those high draft picks bring great flexibility and allow a team to rebuild completely.

  12. Im calling it right now in the next 5 years, Seattle will get another Ring, SF or Denver will get one, one random team will make a run and the Colts will win 2 (most likely on the back half of the 5 years).

I absolutely love what Grigson is doing, if we can just get that piece for the oline we need to put it all together, we should be set up on offence, we honestly can not ask for more talent than we have.

Giving that means the next few years we can solely draft defense, and if Grigs can pull off some draft magic, after next season....maybe the next i believe we will be front runners to be the next multiple championship team.....GO COLTS

One has to get to the Super Bowl to be able to win it. I see Houston lurking and building. That team worries me. Nothing wrong with having great ambitions for our team. I have them too. But a repeat of the Peyton years is unlikely enough and exceeding it is really hoping for a lot. But I am with you, lets win two.

  13. IMO as a Indy fan I agreed with the popular sentiment easily because Peyton Manning was & much more to this city "  LOS  the house that Peyton built "  & the state  18 's many charitable works a  Lombardi , Both on & off the field Peyton Manning is a class act  he brought to Indy that winning attitude if he had a decent defense his 4'th quarter heroics may have not been needed co often .

PB     18 has on several occasions expressed his admiration & appreciation of Johnny U & what he accomplished & once I believe he asked the NFL to allow him to add something to his Uni to acknowledge Unitas  but was denied by the No fun League .

Lastly I'v always felt Peyton Manning was the Johnny Unitas of the modern day Colts & IMO Unitas would be great in any era .

He wanted to wear hightop shoes to honor Johhny U when he passed away.

  14. Andrew is tough, but that hasn't kept him from being injured

Well, something has helped him. He has been hit hard more than any other QB in the NFL for the last two years. I cringed at some of those hits and I was surprised to see him get right up. I think he is plenty tough.

  15. Frankly, I think Manziel is pretty tough and going to be a good (if not great) NFL player. To be honest, I would rather if the Browns or Raiders drafted him.

I don't know if it means anything but that kid has "star" written all over him. I expect him to an overachiever in the NFL.

  16. I agree to a point  I'm a Indianapolis Colts fan  "  We've had a popular QB in Peyton Manning.  NOW, we have the best of the era.  We are very LUCKy.  GO COLTS! "

Unitas  was not a Indianapolis Colts fan & I was never a Unitas fan so I would never call him great maybe a lil better than 18 by a nose .

Peyton Manning is the  greatest Colts QB of the Indianapolis era  IMO  Baltimore can keep Unitas & the Colts trophy .

I was a Colts fan back in the days of Johnny U. and I have stayed one through good times and bad. I intend to stay a fan for as long as I can draw a breath but Peyton was much more than popular. I have always wondered what Unitas would have done in today's game. I am sure he would have been great.

  17. you really think he'll get 25 a year?

Yes, I do and I think he will have earned it. He may not have a SB win or appearance but he has carried this team into the playoffs for the last two years when they had no business making it. Now, they may franchise him but someone will pay him that if he walks.

  18. sheesh thats more then 21 a year. I dont think he'll get that much.

I think he gets more than that. I would think six years $150 million will be more like it. I think it will be the biggest contract of all time.

  19. I would say the percentage of fans "disowning" Jim Irsay is quite small.

I think most fans have stated that they stand behind him. That doesn't mean that the incident was not embarrassing to both the Colts and the NFL. There is an article out that Irsay had $29,000 in cash on him and he refused to take a blood test. Addiction is a terrible thing to fight and I think everyone is rooting for him. If it happens again, I think there will be more of those fans "disowning" him.

  20. If we could pull off a deal getting a 3rd, and two 4ths I'd be all for making that deal since the class is so deep. Then I would want a draft like this...

Round 3 Pick 6 (JAX): Terrence Brooks, FS, Florida State (A)

Round 3 Pick 26: Marcus Smith, DE, Louisville (A)

Round 4 Pick 5 (JAX): Dion Bailey, FS, Southern California (B-)

Round 4 Pick 14 (JAX): Rashaad Reynolds, CB, Oregon State (A-)

Round 5 Pick 26: Prince Shembo, OLB, Notre Dame (A)

Round 6 Pick 27: Dri Archer, WR, Kent State (A)

    Round 7 Pick 17: L'Damian Washington, WR, Missouri (C+)

Yes I have us getting 2 FS's, but Dion Bailey could also play SS and having two safeties that can cover will make this defense so much better. Getting Marcus Smith in the 3rd is a steal here, and we get an underrated corner in Reynolds to spot for Toler if he gets injured again. Shembo I really like to transition to ILB who also provides pass rush from the inside. I still think we bring in another FA OLmen so I don't have us drafting any here.

No more trading picks, please. This draft is so deep that not many trades are going to be made. The rams can't even get a taker for the second round pick and I don't believe the Texans have had any action on trading the number one pick. Every team seems to have two or three backup picks in mind for every round.
