Still don't want Bell not unless he's cheap.  Like 7 mil per or less.

I think he's one of the most overrated players in football.  Steelers RB's always do well, they replaced him with James Conner and didn't miss a beat.

Plus we arn't really that bad at RB.  We could maybe use a little more depth there, but that's it.  We really don't need Bell.

    7m lol ya right.

And overrated???? Are yiu serious??? The man is has been one of the best RB's in the league since he arrived. Show a little respect. I assume yiu didnt watch many steelers games but Connor wasn't doing things bell does.

Colt's need weapons and bell is one of the best weapons in the league.

I agree with competition but the other 3 will have limited reps.  Just seems like a waste of young talent and I don't c it as a need. We need D and some help at WR. I'm tired this organization addressing the O.  I want playmakers on D.

I agree 100% we need playmakers on D. They're coming in the draft I assume. with the Funchess signing there's your WR help...

I'll say it again I would be shocked if we landed Bell. But the reason for not signing him shouldn't be reps for Wilkins. There are reasons why players like Bell don't become free agents.

Here's a thought Bell is a better receiver then Funchess. And we spent 10m on him

I never saw the Bell interest.  They have 3 young backs they have recently drafted.  If u sign Bell, who is  a 3 down back, what would u do with the other 3 young guys???

Bell is a huge upgrade on all of our backs. Hines and Wilkins can compete for the 3rd spot.

I believe Ballard preaches competition at every position. But that being said I don't think bell will be a colt.

Especially if we re-sign Inman, which I think would be a good move.
Hilton, Funchess, Inman, Rogers, Cain, Fountain

Provided those young guys can make a difference, thats pretty solid.

I'm sorry but that corps doesn't stack up that well against other elite offences.

Cain emerging can change that tho.

His stats when I looked rhem up dont look bad. He has luck throwing to him.

I see your point and your right his stats aren't the worst.

But Can't we do better then a mediocre at best wr that luck will make look better then they are. Hopefully Cain will emerge as the #2 cause if T.Y. gets beat up like he did last year Funchess doesn't give me any confidence.

Receivers tend to start really doing well in their 2nd or 3rd year. This could end up being a steal.  There is really no risk.

Well he's had 4 years in the league already and all the opportunity In the world in Carolina. Hasn't done anything. I trust CB, But must say I'm very dissapointed.

Most serious fans come to a "discussion board" for discussion, not news flashes.

There are 19 different "Bell" threads in less than 6 months. 2 from you in the last 20ish days.

A little silly, no? Especially when this thread is based on click bait tweet that doesn't even include an article, and only cites Ian Rapoport (who spews out source-less rumors all day every day). Rapoport also reported Bell and Baltimore, and Bell and Jacksonville speculation in the last 48 hours.

Free agency starts tomorrow. If bell is mentioned with the colts then a thread will be started. Big deal who cares. Right now it's all just a bunch of fans having fun speculating and debating. It isn't as messy as you are implying.

Bell had no problem re-signing with the steelers, but they didnt wanna pay him 17+ so obviously the internal issues were not the driving force.

Yes your right he would of signed if he was payed properly. I was replying to the comment of that we could "offer nothing team wise the steelers couldn't".

We can only speculate why he didn't sign the steelers offer. I assume it was more about the guaranteed money. If he is offered the same contract Gurley got I'm sure he would take it. But you and I will never know exactly what he turned down.

I don't know about "pressing needs". Linebacker is pretty up there, especially if (god forbid) Leonard would be out for a game or two. We saw that this year, and it wasn't pretty.

Well I think secondary, pass rush and WR are more of a need. But ya I agree with you 100% we are thin at LB. We really just need more playmakers on D in general.

Thank you for that chloe. The right price is not happening. Bell will not take less money to come here imo. There is nothing team wise the colts could offer Bell that the steelers didnt. This isnt about winning, its about money and if he wants to waste his prime on a bad team like the jets, thats his problem

-A QB that doesn't throw his teammates under the bus.

-A coach who can control a locker room.

-A front office who will give him a contract Instead of trying to get his prime years for cheap by forcing him into one year contracts.

Plenty of reasons for him to come to the colts. And plenty of reasons we should bring him in. Will we? I doubt it. Everyone needs to stop looking at bell as just any running back he's a weapon who is capable of  2000+ scrimmage yards. I know we have more pressing needs but it would be nice to have a historic offence too.

I don't know, one more year? Ha. We are closer than we have been since Luck has been here, using a completely different philosophy and path than the previous administration, and all of a sudden everyone wants to change course and go bonkers in Free agency. It's funny man. It's just funny to me.

Sure Ballard's philosophy is to draft and build from within, but I think a lot of people on here are getting his philosophy in FA wrong. From interviews I've heard he puts a value on a player and sticks to it. Then if that values is there and they fit the locker room then he will bring them in.

With our cap situation in addition to being striking distance of a SB I don't see bringing in an elite FA is going bonkers. If a top FA meets Ballard's requirements then I think he will pull the trigger. Only Ballard knows tho.

Mosley will be worth every penny he gets. He's a first round draft pic who's performed as advertised. Imo he has no business even hitting free agency. Unfortunately with other more pressing needs I don't see us getting Mosley. But if Ballard decides to build strength on strength like the rams did last year with Suh and the browns just did with Vernon I'm all for it.

If gets 12M a year it won't be from the Colt's,   I must be the only one that likes Devin Funchess I think he has a lot of UP side and is way more affordable

Really Funchess? What has Funchess ever done with 2 years as Carolinas #1? Absolutely nothing. I think we're all being a little to cheap here. Williams has the physical attributes a 1000 yard season under his belt. And thats with being behind Mike Williams and Keenan Allen. Oh ya and Antonio Gates and Hunter Henry.

Is $12m really that much. Someone like moncreif got $7m did he not? Sammy watkins gets $16m. I'd rather pay a few extra million on a promising player entering his prime years then go bargain hunting for someone like Funchess.

Obviously I can be wrong I'm no scout but I feel the reward would be worth the risk. Especially since we're in the cap situation we're in.

The connection has always been logical and obvious. But we've seen this before -- Dontari Poe, Anthony Hitchens, etc. We'll see what happens next week.

Williams is probably my third choice for a FA wide receiver, behind Humphries and maybe Tate, at the right value.

Williams is a very different from Humphries and Tate. If Ballard wants to add a slot Humphries all the way. But Williams is big and fast to play on the outside opposite of TY. I think Williams is the type of guy we need.
