You can always count on these forums to have a thread about signing anyone who gets cut!
-
Is Hester or Holliday still available?
-
Pick up a good FS in the draft and this team has a very good chance to win the Super Bowl!!!
-
1. Broncos
2. Patriots
3. Colts
4. Bengals
5. Chargers
-
9-7 more like 15-1(Loss to Denver).
-
I would think the starter would be Trent but our problem is as a team we start slow, so I think it would be better for the team if Bradshaw starts and gets the team going! So, I think Bradshaw should start at least the first three drives then he transitions to 3RB and Ballard and Richardson split carries. And Ballard should play any overtime games we have.

I could see Nicks wearing #85 or #80. I don't think they will let him have #88.
-
Get him signed.
4 years, 25 mil.
Too much, i'd sign him for 3 years, 17 million.

Cassius Vaughn and Lawrence Sudbury.

Oh we are talking about Rodgers? I thought you where talking about Nicks?
Rodgers we have on the cheap for 3 years anyway. This year he's cheap, next year he's an Exclusive Rights Free Agents which means he has to play for whatever we offer him or don't play. So he's cheap because we just offer the NFL min. The year after that he's an RFA so at a first round tender he gets 2 million.
The way the CBA is worked out, essentially every player has to pay their dues by playing the first 4 years of their career for cheap.
Even Andrew doesn't get more then 7 million in any one year on his rookie deal. And he was the #1 overall pick! A undrafted free agent lives on the NFL min for 3 years, gets a bit more money if he gets a big tender in RFA, around 2 million. So Rodgers is cheap regardless of how well he plays for the next 3 years.
Lol, I was talking about Nicks.

I say sign him to a 1 year deal, Not like he could do any worst then DHB!
I disagree I think we should take a chance and sign him for a cheap long term deal. That way if he does have a break out season which i think is very possible, we won't have to sign him to a huge contract next year to keep him around.
-
Also we should sign Clemons or DeCloud while were waiting on Mack.
-
There working to get Mack to Indy!
-
Jordan Matthews!
-
For the millionth time Shields and Verner are not gonna be much cheaper they both want big bucks too. And neither is as good as Vontae so just pay him the little more he wants. All CBs are gonna want big money thanks to the Dolphins giving grandpa Grimes too much.
I agree on resigning Davis I'm not saying we should sign these players instead. The forum is titled If Vontae Davis leaves.

Cheap Route:
- Sign Sam Shields.
- Or draft a CB on 2nd or 3rd.
Upgrade Route:
- Sign Alterraun Verner.
-
Trade Toler for whatever we can get for him. Draft Stanley-Jean Baptiste or Keith McGill or sign Sam Shields.
-
Dexter McCluster and Devin Hester both in free agency.
-
If we get a first round bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs next year, I guarantee we win the Super Bowl.
-
None of which will likely hit free agency, save maybe Knighton and possibly Gore
Brandon Marshall has a possibility of hitting free agency, they could have Alshon Jeffries take over as the #1.
-
Vontae wont get the tag not 11m
Get A.Jones 5/25m DE
Cut Toler, Satele, RJF
V.Davis 5/32m
C.Clemens 3/12m FS
Use another 6m on resigning (Mcafee, Gordy, S.Brown, C.Johnson, etc.)
B.Puente C 3/12m
Draft:
59: Trade to browns for 71st and 83rd overall picks and we trade a seventh rounder
71: S.Jean Baptiste CB (Number 2 corner next to Vontae Davis)
83: D.Jones DT (What we need)
90: Trade for 2 4th rounders to Jags (Get More Picks)
101:M.Sam OLB (Help Transition with Mathis, Werner and Walden)
110: C.Jones ILB (Side to Side with Freeman)
5th: D.Anthony Thomas RB (Speed Back)
6th: L'Damian Washington (Tall WR)
7th: A.Fera K (Good)
7th: Trade for TE depth from another NFL team (We need More)
Around 10m for all picks
We have around 5m leftover with several cap casualties
The key is small base salaries and high signings bonuses.
I bet we could trade Toler for a mid level draft pick maybe late 3rd early 4th, I wouldn't release him.

1st Season: A+
2nd Season: C-

Yeah having Wayne, Hilton, Rogers, Brazil, and Whalen is a good core for now but if a guy like Matthews fell to us in the second round I'd take him in a heart beat. Why wait for Reggie to retire to find his replacement? Me personally I think it would be much better to get his replacement now so Reggie can teach him. If you think T.Y. would be as good as he is now without Reggie you are sadly mistaken.
D. Manning, anyone?

We don't need a SS we need a FS. And I'm just saying every time someone gets cut somebody makes a thread saying we should sign them, it gets old. I don't know about you but I think we'd be much better off drafting a FS instead of signing a 32 year old SS to play FS.
