  1. Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins certainly both have tremendous upside and remarkable athleticism.  Certainly more talented as rookies then were Deion Branch and David Givens and even being injured half the season, have surpassed their production.  I know there are other talented rookie receivers that have been doing well, but KT and AD's ceiling in my personal opinion falls in the elite category and they both have that "it" factor that other rookie receivers across the league don't have.

  2. And the Pats haven't been as strong in the red zone this season. No Gronk, no Hernandez. I haven't been impressed with the Colts in the red zone either, but while that would have been a major advantage for the Pats in other seasons, I'm not sure it is at this point.

They have turned that around the last few weeks, punching it in often.  Especially with that 4 headed monster backfield, the best backfield in football like Tom Jackson said as far as numbers and quality of each back.  They will score once they get down there.  I think Collie, Thompkins, Edelman and Amendola can get open with the best of them when it boils down to it.

  3. It's not Donald Brown or Trent Richardson's decision to make

It's will the offensive line block for them? Especially considering the fact the Pats are banged up. If we can't block a bunch of backups aside from Chandler Jones & Ninkovinch. If we can't block backups, we don't deserve to be in the playoffs

Those backups are pretty good.. Andre Carter and Michael Buchanan are no scrubs and Sealver Siliga has been a monster in the middle lately and also has 3 sacks the last few weeks.

  4. Colts 30

    pats 27

branch catches the game winning td

There is no way the Patriots are being held to 27 points in this game on that field.  Not with a healthy arsenal.  They are not the Denver Broncos but those receivers are light years ahead of the Chiefs.  A 1,000 yard 100 catch receiver, and three more that are capable of 1,000 yards at full health plus a great receiving back.  And then that power run game of Blount, Bolden and Ridley, Luck will have to put up points.  35 to 40 at least

  5. See even at age 36 Tom Brady is still the best in my opinion, and the best I've ever seen before I used to say Montana was.  And its not like he lost the ability to surgically slice and dice defenses and explode for a good 45 or 50 points because he still has that ability.  If he has time in this game then its over, just speaking from a football point of view.  And they are going to take Robert Mathis out of the game, so its up to Andrew Luck to keep up and not make any mistakes.

  6. Actually fumbles do knock a RB's talent

What good is your talent if you can't do rule #1 of all skill players on offense? Take care of the ball. Talent means nothing if you can't hold onto the ball

Just like Gronk, talented TE. But what good is his talent when he's always hurt?

Listen to your self, you don't sound smart.  So when Peyton Manning was out with a neck injury, he has no talent.  When Adrian Peterson was out that entire season with a torn ACL I guess that automatically made him the worst RB in football.  Gronk when he is healthy is the best TE in football.  Being hurt has nothing to do with having or not having talent, it does have to do with availability but injuries are a part of the game.  And speaking of fumbles, guys like Adrian Peterson, Tiki Barber, Clinton Portis and others have all had fumbling issues even more severe but have recovered, didn't mean they weren't talented but you already knew that.

  7. You're a patriots fan aren't you?

Ridley will fumble, count on it. Ridley is the 3rd best RB on the roster behind Vereen & Blount. I'm predicting 2 fumbles and a benching from Ridley on Saturday

He is not the 3rd best, don't be a foul.  You don't even follow the Patriots like that anyways.  He has been benched the previous few weeks because of fumbles but that does NOT knock his talent.  He can hurt you, but then again don't take it from me, take it from the game Saturday Night.

  8. Oh stop it, you're giving their WR core too much credit

    Danny "Made of Glass" Amendola

    Aaron Dropson

Julian Edelman the best WR they have so put Vontae Davis on him and we can end all of this with a stacked box

Its a good thing you don't play football.  Underestimating receivers that are capable of hurting you is not smart.  Danny "Made of Glass" Amendola has not been hurt in a few weeks, after taking some HUGE hits in the Baltimore game.  He actually laughed, got up and did the "first down" gesture with his arm.  Be careful... you don't see the Patriots underestimating anybody for Indy's receiving corps.  And Aaron Dropson has improved tremendously as the season has progressed, just unable to stay on the field with that foot injury.  Has made some key catches down the stretch.  I like his freakish athleticism as well, big body can be a redzone target.

  9. Ridley will kill himself with fumbles more than he'd kill our defense

He hasn't fumbled in quiet some time so you cannot count on that, have to respect his capability.  One would be an * to say he is not explosive and cannot hurt you on the ground, what if he doesn't fumble :/

  10. I think you're overrating new englands offense. Amendola hasn't been explosive since week one. Thompkins is not "really good". Not yet anyways. Edelman has been good but I think him and vereen are the patriots only real reliable threats right now not including their running backs.

Its not about what you have been, its about capability.  A healthy Danny Amendola at full strength IS capable of being very explosive.  We've seen it in St. Louis and we've seen it during Patriot's preseason games.  Health has slowed him down.  Thompkins on the other hand has been hurt but is a threat.  He has had at least 3 100 yard 2 touchdown games during a time where he and Edelman were the team's only offense.  The kid got hurt a few weeks ago and hasn't really bounced back since, but you NEVER underestimate one's ability to heal and play well in the post season, especially with a bye and time to rest.  Teams not respecting capability as opposed to production have been burned in the past.   Cannot afford any suprises in the post season.

  11. are you familiar with vareen at all? He‘s the most explosive player the pats currently have, not including gronk. The biggest threat is him.

He is very explosive but I think they have explosive players all over that offense.  Remember, the game plan New England had against the Bills was to run the ball because of the rain, and kept running the ball because its so effective.  But the week before against Baltimore, in that first half Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola were making plays left and right.  Amendola nearly scored on a long reception before being chased from behind by LaDarius Webb.  They have many explosive weapons that nobody talks about.  Thompkins, when that kid is on he is really good.  Brandon Bolden out of the backfield is nothing to play with and Stevan Ridley and LeGarrette Blount are both very explosive as well.  Have to keep the offense off of the field

  12. I hope he's healthier this week. Will he match up with Amendola? I hope he does and matchup Butler with Edleman.

Going to be tough either way.. I often get the impression that many people underestimate these two receivers, who are very talented and skilled duo.  They are so knowledgeable of the receiver position and have such a high football IQ that even when they are knocked off of their routes by a defense they can and are able to adjust.  And the underrated portion of their game is their athleticism and "deep speed".  On top of being great athletes, they have "deep speed".  Deep speed is not necessarily fast speed but the ability to get behind defenders down field, they can if are given the opportunity to.  Both are not just slot receivers, but good on the perimeter and down the seam.  And you have to remember, the only knock thats ever been on either of these two are injuries.  Both outstanding football players and excellent receivers that will give you their best each and every Sunday and tougher then people give them credit for.  Will be fun to see how these two X-Factors will be matched up.  Especially now with Austin Collie by their side, who was only injured on the knee and hasn't had a concussion for quiet some time.  He can add a nice trio combination, after all he is only 27 and understands the offense.  Fun game to watch and a challenge for the Colts.

  13.

I was happy with the OL's performance overall.  Always room for improvement but all in all they did a heck of a job against one of the most vaunted front 7's in the league.

let's see if they can continue the trend this week against NE...

Going to be tough, New England is 4th in the NFL in sacks.  Chandler Jones and Rob Ninkovich combine for 20 sacks and DT Chris Jones has 6, and NT Sealver Siliga with 3.  But the main guys, Chandler Jones and Rob Ninkovich are a challenge.. even against Mobile quarterbacks.  They sacked Cam Newton 4 times.

  14. Dobson and Thompkins looked awful all season.

No, that was at the beginning.. but their ceiling is incredibly high.  Jerry Rice said he thought from his standpoint that Dobson was the best pure receiver in the draft and everybody was projecting Kenbrell Thompkins to be a breakout superstar wide receiver this season because of the training camp he has had, turning heads with his play.  But once the season started, yeah a little slow but every week, they've gotten better and better and for Thompkins I think he finally started to emerge against the Buccaneers, had over 100 yards receiving and two touchdowns, the following week in Atlanta another 100 yard game and two touchdowns.. the guy can make some plays, we all know what happen to the Saints.  But right after that game he became injured, and on and off the field.  Same with Dobson, finally broke out against the Steelers for 136 yards and two touchdowns burning both Ike Taylor and Ryan Clark on a long bomb, but after that game he wasn't the same because of injuries off and on.  These two kids I believe are the most talented rookie receivers New England has had for some time, definitely far more talented then David Givens and Deion Branch as good as those two were.  Just a matter of getting healthy and back on the field.

  15. He is the best third down/dual threat back in the league per Sterling Sharpe and I have to agree.  Dynamic not only in the screen game but down field running routes as a receiver, runs better routes then some good receivers do and is also a heck of a runner out of the backfield.  He is definitely a matchup nightmare for a linebacker, even some defensive backs.

  16. Just a few things, good game plan but people underestimate Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman's ability to actually get down field, but they have scored touchdowns in the past off of deep receptions on teams that don't give them that respect.  Thats what I like about Amendola and Edelman as opposed to Welker, they are truly the jack of all-trades and surely not just the slot.  Shane Vereen and Brandon Bolden are your excellent screen guys and also slot receivers and despite Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins being rookies, they have a pretty high ceiling and have the capability of getting deep.  It took them a while to finally get acclimated with Tom but they started to hit their stide before the injury.  They can make plays down field.  Ultimately its going to come down to Andrew Luck keeping Tom off the field, thats the only shot.  Especially with a power run game now in Stevan Ridley and LeGarrette Blount.

  17. To say Talib cannot cover speed guys is insane, he has shut down the best including A.J Green, Julio Jones and others.  If you think that, then you are in for a rude awakening, he can definitely take TY out of the game in my opinion, and Deion Sanders thinks the same thing.

  18. Dane Fletcher, Jamie Collins and Dont'a Hightower have been playing at a high level and have alot of versatility, plus Mamoth DT Sealver Siliga has been eating up blocks.  They'll be fine, and use an extra safety in the box, very physical safeties back there and good run support defensive backs.

  19. Talib can't can't cover TY!! I watched a game this year when NE played Carolina and Talib was getting burned and frustrated starting fights with Steve smith. And TY is much faster and younger then Steve smith so I have no worries about Talib the thu

That was his first game back from a hip injury

  20. I think our LB's(McNary) can cover either teams rb's coming out of the backfield, judging by how he played yesterday. As far as slot guys, I don't think he can hang with Wes Welker(who can), but I think he'll do pretty good against Elderman or Amedola. I like man coverage against the Pats, I just don't like it playing against Denver. I'm pretty sure Peyton was watching this game and he's planning something to eat up this man coverage with our corners hurt.

If you can't hang with Welker, I think you do far worst against Edelman and Amendola because of both being quicker and faster, and more explosive in and out of their breaks.

  21. The New England defense is so much better then what you think.  A fully healthy Aqib Talib and Devin McCourty who are both on the all-pro team his season will be the difference, and also CB Logan Ryans with 5 picks and Alfonzo Dennard form one of the best secondaries in football under the direction of Bill Belichick. I think up front with great pass rushers Chandler Jones (12 sacks) and Rob Ninkovich (8 sacks) who make for 4th in the NFL in sacks will play with the back end to make it hard for Andrew Luck finding receivers open.  You know they will take our TY Hilton, so somebody else had better step up or its a long night.  Should be an outstanding football game.
