Allen Robinson signs with the Rams. Another WR off the board.
We have plenty of cap space.
What are we doing?

Campbell has been very disappointing. Frank Reich hyped him up like he was going to be a force and then he is invisible on game days. Cain is a disappointment, pascal is inconsistent, Roger's is nothing special, ebron inconsistent
I wish I knew what was going on with Campbell and Cain. During the Houston game, Cain played 37 snaps and wasn't targeted one time. That is stunning! The following week he was deactivated.
Paschal and Rodgers shouldn't be good enough to keep Campbell and Cain from even being remote factors in the Colts passing game.
Something's up.

That is a great article. The fact we are only scoring 3.3 Pts less per game doesn’t seem like a lot or a big deal. It’s been pretty impressive so far.
Through the first 6 games of 2018 the Colts scored a total of 152 points.
Through the first 6 games of 2019 the Colts scored a total of 143 points
The difference is just 9 points on a more "apples to apples" point comparison. If Vinatieri had been up to his usual standards during the first few games, the Colts would have scored more points through the first 6 games.
The Colts have played a very respectable schedule for the first 6 games of 2019. It will be interesting to see where the Colts scoring number is once we make our way through the "softer" part of our schedule.
Most of the teams that led the league in offense during the first part of the year were able to pad their stats against the Dolphins. See the Ravens and Cowboys as examples. The 2019 Colts haven't had any "pad the stats" games yet.

Much closer numbers than I thought. I knew the INT ratio was much better but didn’t realize how close we were
Neither did I. I was shocked.
The only real difference through 6 games is the yardage. But this is because last year we threw the ball way more often. Through 6 games in 2019 we are averaging more yards per attempt than through 6 games in 2018.
Numbers vs. perception is always interesting.

I often wonder what coach Pagano would have done if he had not been tied to Grigson. Coach Dungy was great, but he had Polian who is in the Hall of Fame in his own right as a GM.
Riech is good. But he too is tied to great GM. I understand its subjective, but I blame most of the Colts prior problems on Grigson and not Pagano.

I'm not a big fan of the color rush uniforms for any team. It looks like they are playing in pajamas or something.

Jacoby Brissett: 134/206 1388 65% 6.73 14/3 Rating 100.98
Points per game: 143/23.83
Andrew Luck: 186/290 1801 64% 6.21 16/8 Rating 88.3
Points per game: 152/25.33.
Observations:
Through the first 6 games, the 2019 offense has scored just 9 fewer points compared to 2018. If Adam Vinatieri had just been average for the first few weeks, the 2019 offense actually would have been more productive.
The 2019 passing game is currently averaging more yards per pass play than we did through 6 games in 2018 (6.73 vs. 6.21). And we are on pace to nearly equal the mark for the 2018 season (6.7 vs. 7.2).
The passer rating is higher through 6 games than it was through 6 games last year. The passer rating is currently on pace to finish slightly higher for the season than it was in 2018 (100.98 vs. 98.7).
The completion percentage is comparable across the board. Through 6 games last year it was 64% vs. 65% this year. The 2018 Colts finished the season with a 67% completion percentage.
The 2018 team threw the ball far more often. The production in yards is based on volume. Not efficiency.
The 2018 team threw a lot more interceptions through the first 6 games (8 vs. 3). The interception rate was not due to the increased passing volume. In 2018 through 6 games our interception rate was 2.75%. In 2019 it is just 1.45%.
Note: Sports Reporter Stephen Holder pointed out on twitter that Jacoby Brissett has less career starts than Mitchell Trubisky, Dak Prescott and Deshaun Watson. He's still very young at the position.
I find this topic endlessly fascinating. The numbers are from me sitting at my computer with a calculator. If there are any mistakes or typos please let me know and I will correct them. This is why I posted the game by game numbers. More eyes are always better. We play tomorrow. I will update as we move forward.

Grigson - Pagano - McDaniels
Not a very good track record. I understand that McDaniels is a very good OC, but why focus on a guy who clearly has been looking for a ready made team to coach? That was a red flag for me. It didn’t bother me as much that he failed in Denver and St. Louis. His pickiness in taking another coaching job did. Plus you had to wait so long to hire him? Add on top of that the fact he worked for a shady Patriots organization.
The Colts have had terrible organization since the Dungy/Polian era left us.

I think it may be time to give Jim Caldwell a call.

You can skew stats to make whatever argument you want.
What specifically was skewed? There isn't even any serious opinion there. Just facts.

Most Playoff Wins (2013-2015/3 years)
Pete Carroll (Seahawks) 6
Bill Belichick (Patriots) 5
John Harbaugh (Ravens) 5
Jim Harbaugh (49ers) 4
Chuck Pagano (Colts) 3
John Fox (Broncos) 2
Mike McCarthy (Packers) 2
6 other coaches have just 1 playoff victory over this span.
Chuck Pagano also has more playoff wins (2013-2015) than the following notable coaches: Sean Payton (Saints), Rex Ryan (Bills, Jets), Mike Tomlin (Steelers),
Tom Coughlin, (Giants), Marvin Lewis (Bengals), Ron Riviera (Panthers), Bruce Areans (Cardinals), Jeff Fisher (Rams), Jason Garret, (Cowboys).

Patriots 8-0 (own tiebreaker)
Bengals 8-0
Broncos 7-1
Unfortunately we are locked into the 4th seed. We can't move up. But we can't move down either. If all of the seeds hold wildcard weekend, we will likely be at New England in the divisional round of the playoffs.

The defense should be well rested.
We have the best kickers in football.
-
Remember, even with a loss today, were are STILL in first place in the AFC South.
-
The dam broke!
I'm sorry. But how much is the defense suppose to do on this team. It is shocking how bad we are offensively.
-
Defense has to hold them to 3.
-
TY Hilton can't beat the best corners in this league 1 on 1.
Where is Moncrief?

That non PI call is looming huge.

Harper had an excuse....he had a knife in his leg...
And it was put there by his wife the night before the game.
