  1. Peyton didn't throw in the combine and look how he turned out... I think the reason those other QB needy teams didn't pick Gabbert is because he came from a spread offense. Locker has accuracy problems and that doesn't bode well for NFL QB's historically speaking. I think Gabbert will make the Jags very competitive in the future, not this year perhaps but in years to come.

  2. I'll say this about Caldwell, he coached an injury devestated team back to the playoffs. Along the way he made two equally devestating bad calls (Jacksonville timeout and Jets timeout). I don't blame Caldwell for the miffed onside kick at the Superbowl, he had his hands team out there and Baskett just couldn't hold on. If he can learn from the two mistakes from last year and shows better clock management then I'm back in his court, if he can't then he won't be long in Indy after this year.

  3. This is very exciting. Hopefully his knees won't be an issue this year. I still have nightmares about that Jets playoff loss where they were running it down our throats in the 3rd and 4th quarter. Hopefully that won't happen again.

  4. This guy posted one of the fastest 40 times at the combine. Now we all know that straight line speed does not always translate on the field but he seems like he could be a good "depth" player. I do know that the Polians didn't think much of any of the safeties in this draft so I don't expect him to be the next Sanders or Eric Berry. He also could be a returner which we could always use.

  5. I don't remember hearing people say that the 03' Bucs couldn't stop anyone. That defense was sick. I don't agree with the notion that cover-2 can't work in this league anymore. There are few defenses that can limit the big play more than cover-2. It's also one of the perfect defenses against the pass and we all know this is a passing league now. Our biggest problem of late has been how bad our run defense has been with the front seven. If we can shore that up the back end woes will likely vanish as well.

It also wouldn't hurt to field a full 11 guys on defense that aren't from the second team or the practice squad.

  6. I too am very relieved at this signing. While Bullitt may not be best in space when defending against the pass, he is a solid run stopper who is not afraid of contact. He also has a lot more experience now than when he first had to play in Bob's shadow so he is ready. While I still think think position needs to be addressed through the draft or through free agency, I am a lot happier with Bullitt back there than Francisco. If we can get better corner play with Tryon, Powers, Rucker, and Thomas then this will only make Bullitt's play better.
