  1. Glad to hear from Andrew himself. People seem cynical which is understandable but I feel optimistic that he’ll be back next season. I never expected him to go into specific details regarding his rehabilitation. It’s not who he is and honestly, he has a right to keep that information private. He says he’s improving and that’s good enough for me. I’m sure we’ll receive more updates once he begins throwing.

Whether we like it or not a complete overhaul is going to be done, and quite frankly I believe the colts need it. Grigson had one good year as a GM and that was his first year. he had the # 1 overall pick, went after luck, then did some trading to get Hilton, Allen and Fleener all in the first 3 rounds. and then a week into the season went out traded a 2nd rounder for Vontae Davis.

After that first year, he tore this team up. two big key mistakes was 1) trading a first rounder for Trent Richardson, and then drafting Dorsett in the first round when Landon Collins was still on the board. knowing our defense was an issue, he goes receiver. he neglected the defense, and neglected the offensive line. Cowboys offensive line, all but one were first round picks. La'el Collins their RT? was a top 10 pick had it not been for the investigation of murder or assault of his gf, which ever one it was, instead he was taken as an undrafted FA. Grigson had 4 years to build a decent offensive line around Luck and couldn't do it. He had 4 years to build a defense and couldn't do it. If he would have done one or the other, he probably would still be the GM right now. But he tore this team up. and now ballard has to fix it. and the only way he can do that, is get rid of all of grigsons guys, and rebuild. Unfortunately for him he will have to do it fast or Luck will be wasted talent.

But TY wasn't a Grigson mistake. Far from it.

The overhaul is coming whether we like it or not. Ballard turned over half of our roster last year, and most of it was on the defensive side of the ball. He's nowhere near finished. Our cap as of right now will be in the $87mil neighborhood, and if he can add to that, as well as pull in a few draft picks, he's going to.

If someone offers a 1st + a 2nd or 3rd round pick for TY, there's no way Ballard doesn't make that deal. 2 high round picks and wipe his contract from the books, it's a no-brainer for a GM who's in full-blown rebuild mode. That's a high price tag, but you never know, someone who's in "win now" mode might be compelled to do it.

As far as Moncreif goes, we've seen what he brings to the table at this point. This is his 4th season as a Colt, he's a nice player, young, lots of potential. At the same time, very replaceable.

    Wow 87 million is remarkable.

I sincerely don’t believe TY will be traded. The negatives just outweigh the positives from my perspective. If I’m wrong, I’ll be disappointed but I’ll be happy to eat crow. I think there’s a higher probability that Moncrief is traded, but I hope not. We’ve seen what he can do in the redzone with Luck. I just wish Brissett would throw to him more.

A team in our current situation can never have enough cap money or draft picks.

If I recall correctly, we’re already near the top of the league in cap room for next season. It has to be near 60 million. Trading TY for space doesn’t make sense. Would it be nice to have 70 or so? I guess. But I don’t think it’s necessary or that it’s worth losing Andrew’s most reliable weapon.

yes/no.  Think about it, if we can draft a stud at one position, that frees up money to go after an even higher ranked stud in FA.  Now the draft coming after FA means its a crap shoot and a risk regardless but there are some benefits to moving on from guys like Gore, Davis, Moncrief.  As for TY, I'd prefer we keep him and pick up a WR1 and make TY a WR2 but if the right offer came along, i'd pull that trigger too.

I don’t mind moving Gore or Davis. Gore in particular deserves to be on a contender. I would just rather keep the two receivers. How do we even gauge Moncrief’s abilities when he’s thrown to once or twice per game? We need a new OC not a complete overhaul.

If moving him can help solve some of those larger issues though, then it's not really as bad of an idea as some are making it sound. Trading him would open up $11mil of extra cap for next year, and would likely haul 2 high-ish draft picks. $11mil and a couple draft picks alone could go a long way in solving our ILB issue.

We already have enough cap room to address those deficits. That’s an area where the Colts have done very well over the last few years. We haven’t necessarily made the best decisions with the excess of money we’ve had but that’s a different discussion.

If he's as good of a QB as we all think he is, throwing to some new WRs shouldn't hurt him, especially if the run game is improved next year. It'll likely be an entirely new offensive system regardless, so no matter who's in at WR, there'll likely be an adjustment period for everyone to get on the same page.

I get what you're saying, but I just don't see the benefit. Of course Andrew could potentially develop rapport with new receivers. But why bother? Andrew's chemistry with TY is well-documented. This just seems so unnecessary. We have bigger issues on this team than TY.

    My 2 cents:

Can't blame him for someone asking him that question.

And for those who want him traded, that'd be the biggest mistake. One way to * 12 off

Who asks that? So what do you think about the trade rumors TY? I mean really? I wonder which reporter it was.

  8. I think it’s a lot to ask of someone to come in and learn a new system so quickly. But that said, the two picks in the Cardinals game and in this one did cost us two wins. I’m not sure if it’s fair to demand more from a backup QB though.
