Saunders is going to have a really tough time ever getting a chance in this offense. Another long-term injury to Allen (please no!) is probably the only way.
-
The only guy on your list I actually like is Rodgers, as maybe a 5th WR option. Unfortunately he blew his opportunity himself through a lack of maturity and poor decision-making.
-
not really
Maybe as the 5th wr and why do that
In what world would Wayne be the 5th wide receiver?
At worst he would be the third option behind Hilton and Moncrief.
They aren't going to draft or pick up free agent WRs that would demote Wayne to 5th.
-
this isn't a charity
Charity is when you give something away for nothing in return.
You think giving Reggie a one-year deal won't bring some reward from his play?
-
I was worried he was going to get called for a block in the back TWICE on Fleener's long TD. I know it's unlikely for the refs to make such a big call, but both blocks looked a little iffy to me. Gawd I love Moncrief.
-
I wouldn't have a problem with it either, but the fact that he is still getting more snaps, touches than Herron leads me to believe that what he says is true.
And you don't have to blast a player. He's been critical of players before without blasting them.
He probably isn't overconfident with Boom either. Three fumbles in two games gets you benched for any other team besides the Colts.
-
What else is he supposed to say?
Provided he is no longer on the team next year, I have no problem with Chuck responding in dignified/company line fashion.
-
But the Colts were wrong for letting him go...
-
That is literally the hardest name to say out loud ever. I hope we don't get him for that reason.
-
Injuries.. plain and simple.. cant finish a season.. plus we have fleener.. smart move would be not to gamble big money on allen, pay fleener, and find a good blocking TE in draft or free agency.. and roll with fleener, doyle, and free agent or draft pick.. not signing allen will free up alot to sign players to fill many gaping holes on our team.
He finished his first season and has missed a couple of games this year. Unless he misses an extensive chunk of time like in 2013, there is no chance I would get rid of him. He possesses everything you could hope for in a TE.
I'd lose Fleener over Allen every day of the week.

Cleveland is 7-5 and play in the toughest division in football this year. Whitehorse and Bortles don't have RBs to rely upon, don't have a good OL, and they don't have Josh Gordon at WR. We are going on the road where it will be cold. Running the football and stopping the run will matter. Depending upon the weather, Luck may not be able to sling the ball all over the field. Plus the Browns are pretty good in the Secondary. This is not a gimme by any stretch. The OL needs to have its best run blocking game. The DL has to take-away the run game and the LBs have to get to Manziel.
I was only talking about Manziel. I'm not worried about him any more than I would have been about Hoyer.
I know Cleveland have a good team and I know it's a road game.

Fleeners not goin anywhere.. allen we prolly be let go
Lol wat?
Injury concerns aside, Allen is the most promising TE in the league.
-
Nice video of him. All I can really say is that he is friggin' TALL (6') for a running back.
Cheers, Boss.
He's got a great name too.
-
Good question. It's a toss up between Fleener and Allen. I like both, but it seems that Allen gets injured too much. If it's possible, I would keep both. They both have like 6 or 7 TD's right now.
I'm not ready to say Allen is injury prone just yet.
Obviously missing a season sucks, but he's only missed a couple of games this year. I can see it becoming a problem though.
-
All 4 plus Moncreif will be the core of the Colts for years.
I hope so.
To be honest I don't really know much about the rookie contract situation. Will it be easy to keep those guys and still make improvements elsewhere?
-
Obviously Luck will get a huge deal.
Hilton will sign too.
Do you think they can keep both Coby and Dwayne Allen?
I think Allen is a better blocker and his hands are better, but Fleener has played great of late and tends to be open with T.Y seeing double coverage.
Is Fleener a luxury player? Will he get a big contract alongside Allen?

What is Tipton's running style like?
-
I wonder what the earliest week is that a division has been won.
Houston must have won the South pretty early during Indy's 2-14 season.
-
He has a real fumbling issue. Other than that I like him.
-
No. But nice try.
He took your argumentative bait. You were the one who threw it out there unnecessarily. Because NO ONE had said it.
Then you did. And then his response was "Plenty of people would"....
This is just you being argumentative.
The latest example is I read each and every post to make sure no one else had used that word.
ONLY YOU DID.
So, you're attempt to say "try keeping up with the thread" is just you in your normal CYA mode.... that's your Happy Place!
It's why you're in almost every major argument on the board.
You're just a disagreeable sort.
But thanks for playing.
The one who need trouble keeping up with the thread is the poster who has fueled the thread with his typical nonsense.
That would be............ you.
I threw what out there as bait?
I said that 4.5 sacks is not spectacular. Then a bunch of people said, "but but but what about Mathis'rookie season!"
I didn't say Newsome wasn't good, or that he doesn't have promise or anything of the sort.
I said 4.5 sacks isn't spectacular. That is hardly bait or being argumentative.
If someone said to you in real conversation that 4.5 sacks isn't spectacular, would you go on one of the long rants you post on this forum?
-
He often makes ill-advised throws when trying to keep plays alive instead of throwing it away or taking the sack. That's why a lot of balls are thrown high and tipped for INTs.
Anyone have his number of fumbles this year?
-
Here's the beauty of you. No one INSIDE this forum has described Newsome as spectacular except one....
That person is you.
Maybe you should read the thread before posting? People might take you seriously that way.
Earlier in the thread, Skelly said "plenty of people would" describe Newsome as spectacular this season.
As I said, before offering long-winded responses with no real point, try keeping up with the discussion.
-
He is better, not sure what's funny about it. Two coaching staffs have benched shipley this season for a reason
The line was playing far better with Shipley. Harrison has made some big errors and has been inconsistent overall.
Shipley wasn't benched due to poor performance. If I remember correctly, there was a lengthy thread on here full of people mystified as to why he was dropped.
-
There's no issue. It's an opinion. You don't agree, we get it. Move on.
It's not an opinion. He's had three drafts. That's called a fact.
Possible Playoff Match-Up
in Colts Football
Posted
I think the possible opponents the Colts could face in the first game are all around the same skill level.
I guess it would be nice to play the Bengals or Ravens (depending on the AFC North standings) because Indy have already beaten both of those teams at home.
I would welcome the chance to play the Chargers to get that monkey off our backs and kinda wipe away the loses suffered at their hands during Peyton's time under center.
