  1. We get out-coached too often and when we do it's brutal.  When we have favorable match-ups against our philosophies we do very well.  In order to get to the next level, I do not believe we will ever out-coach New England, and by the way nobody does, so we need to have even more talent foir this squad if we are to move forward.

    1. Safety -  Landry is the softest player I've ever seen, he plays to avoid contact.  I would encourage anyone to re-watch that nightmare and you can't find him anywhere.  Adams is all over the field, he didn't play well today but at least he puts out.  We must get a safety who wants to play.

    2. DT - Suh, Pay the money, I'll chip in to see him step on Brady!  Imagine Jones and Suh at Tackle!

    3. There were trucking lanes open right up the belly, better find a NT if we're going to be serious about a 3-4.  You sinply can't play an effective 3-4 without an anchor.

    3.  Pray Mathis has a healthy recovery.

    4.  Freeman can not play the MLB position, he is a 4-3 will backer IMO.  He gets trucked in the run game (partially due to 2 and 3).  We may need to consider drafting a stout young MLB.  Some may believe in Freeman, I don't buy into the "he's fast" narrative.

    5.  Our line pass blocked well in the end but don't think for a sesond that line is good enough yet.  Our run game remains anemic and we must prioritize protecting the franchise at all times.

    Coaching,

Defense, Manusky is lost against dynamic game plans.  The NE wide-outs can not beat our guys deep yet we played 5-10 yrds off all day, we did not press nor get physical at the line.  Help me on that? Clueless against the run game and lost all year against bunch formations.  Why not press and blitz Brady?  How do we miss on this stuff?

Offense, our game plans are flat out awful, why in the world do we have a third and ten and four wide outs 25 yards down field with their backs to Luck.  I guess I skipped to terrible play calling, sorry, watch the tape.  Why do we come out with the proven failed "establish the run" plan so we can immediately give the ball back to New England.  We ran no bunch formations, no underneath passing, no crossing routes and did absolutely nothing dynamic to leverage the short passing game with our TE's.  I also love to see Wayne and Hicks on the bench in favor of three tight end sets in passing situations.  It's just bad.

IF the plan is a Super Bowl victory we have much to do!

hick be gone and reggie need be wr's coach.  then sign Duron Carter.

  2. I spent a lot of time on http://overthecap.com/calculator/indianapolis-colts trying to play GM and manage our contracts.  Through a combination of being very addicting and being very complex, it took me multiple days to figure it all out.  However, I think I came up with a decent plan.  I must preface it by saying I am not a cap geek in the least; I know very little about the salary cap.  But it's now the offseason for the Colts, so it seemed like something fun to do.  I didn't put in explanations for each player because that would just make the post nauseatingly long (it's already so long that I'm going to use spoiler buttons to shorten it).  But I would be happy to explain my thought process with any of the things I list if anyone is interested.  I'm interested to hear everyone's thoughts!  Be as painfully honest as you like haha

    Draft strategy:

I would go into the draft looking to focus on the defensive side of the ball.  Offensively, I think we're pretty good where we are.  I brought in a guard in free agency to shore up the right side of the line (and I think Franklin and Carpenter can both play RT if needed), but I think we are fine otherwise.  I think we need more talent on the defensive side of the ball, so I signed a defensive lineman and a safety, but I would still focus on that side of the ball in the draft.  The OL started playing much better at the end of the year, and I think Luck's progression will help him make decent players around him seem very good.  I think Freeman's play has been better than what most on here want to give him credit for (which is why I re-signed him), but another ILB would really help.  However, it's not possible to go into the draft thinking you're just going to focus on the defensive side of the ball.  You can't predict what will happen and reaching for a defensive player could very well end up hurting your team in the long run.  So focusing on the defensive side of the ball is more of a general guideline as to how I would approach the draft.

That leaves us with around $1 mil left under the cap for 2015.  What are your thoughts?

  3. amfootball - I have simply lost all respect for you as a fan.  Defend and deflect away.

If my coach had done what yours did in the past I would have called for his head.  PERIOD.

If my coach had allowed what has been alleged and appears to be all but confirmed, I would call for his head.  PERIOD

Bookmark this post and see what happens should my team do anything similar.  My values will not change.  My team's sportsmanship is of higher value to me than winning at all costs.

Sadly, you will have some pathetic response so have a really nice day, I'm getting back to work and earning a living.

  4. Irrelevant.  You assume everyone cheats and want to justify your belief.  You will do anything to deflect from the simple facts - if they turn out to be corroborated.  You're like the child who is caught and says, "Well Johhny does it and you didn't punish him."

When you break a rule to attempt to gain advantage for a win, you are wrong.  It doesn't matter how many others do it and don't get caught.

  5. Agreed -- statistically, he wasn't even a top 10 WR in the CFL last year.  He has good size and decent speed (~4.6).  He was ranked by NFL Draft Scout as the #100 WR coming out of college before he went to CFL (possibly in part due to his off-field issues, which resulted in a lack of being on the field).

I'm all for signing him for cheap, but nowhere near ready to consider this guy the solution for our team at WR.
