Will checking him out on youtube sooner than later.

Excluding domestic stuff, do you like him better than Mixon?

After Fournette and Cook, I think Mixon is the next best option from a pure talent standpoint. That being said...I don't want anything to do with that baggage.

Samuel and Mixon don't even compare. They're completely different backs.

  2. In public, I'm pretty chill. In private, I'm still pretty chill, but a close game or a playoff game will get me jumping up and down occasionally. There is a video of me floating around somewhere, taken during the Broncos - Pats championship game, where I am audibly moaning and dramatically falling to the floor with my hood pulled over my head after Gronk got a TD towards the end of the game. Always good for a laugh.

I've been similar to Chad recently. I've generally resigned myself to the fact that we're not going to beat the Pats/Steelers so I don't get nearly as upset when we lose.

Yikes. This thread has certainly turned into something else....

    Just my .02

I am a firm believer in second chances when it's warranted, alright. But Mixon is a scumbag. That's just a garbage thing to. Look, I understand it was 3 years ago, and I understand the girl isn't completely clean either...she was allegedly being quite disrespectful and seems to initiate the contact. But it doesn't change the fact that he threw a RIGHT HOOK to her HEAD.

You can't just say Mixon "made a mistake" and then proceed to direct blame on the girl. If that were the case, can't you say that she "made a mistake" too?

Just an ugly situation that I don't want the Colts being a part of. If they draft Mixon, I'm not gonna necessarily stop cheering for Indy, but it ain't gonna sit well thats for sure. And I won't be too enthused if Mixon does something remotely good for the Colts. Like, at all.

I agree with everything except for the bolded part. We really have no evidence beyond this act to say he's a scumbag. It was certainly a scumbag thing to do and he might actually be a huge scumbag, but he might also have just been a 24-hr 18-year-old kid that made a really terrible decision. To my knowledge he's kept his nose clean since the incident and never had any issues before.

That being said, I'd still not draft him. I'd rather let someone else find out.

  4. Great talent, but I don't want him on the Colts. Far too much baggage.

He shouldn't have done what he did (regardless who started it), and he should probably have served at least a little time. He definitely should have been booted off the team. The retaliation was far too disproportional.

That being said, I hope he gets a shot somewhere. There were some extenuating circumstances, but most of all, he was a day removed from being 17. I don't like the idea of ruining someones shot at a career for something stupid they did at 17/18 (obvious exceptions being murder/sexual assault).

  5. I feel like the Elliot hype is a little bit of revisionist history. He was not nearly as well-regarded this time last year as Fournette, Chubb, or Cook. It wasn't until he made it to the Cowboys that he became the next big thing. He's been great behind that line, and he might still prove to be the better back, but there is almost no chance he would go before Fournette or Cook if they shared the same draft.

To the subject, I have a hard time imagining not drafting def in the first, but if Cook is BPA then I won't hate it. RB is a position of need. If they curveball and go WR though...rage.

I am not at all nostalgic about watching games in the pouring rain and freezing cold.  Happy to see more and more domes

Agreed. If  it was up to me every stadium would be a dome. I have zero interest in which teams/players are more adaptable to the elements. I don't want to see my RBs slipping all over the place, my WRs dropping (more) balls, or my tacklers sliding right off of wet bodies.

You would have to give up both Allen and Parker to get a round 2 pick, IMO, that is what I would bargain for if I were trading with you. :sip:

This has all become moot. Somehow I managed to have only two players on my team put up double digit points (both <14)! Which has earned me either a 1 or 2 spot in the Fournette/Cook lottery. Yay for me? I still might get greedy and try to get that other top spot. It'd be nice to get both of them. :)

  8. Dynasty league...

Through the workings of excellent trading and lucky drafting, I've managed to amass Antonio Brown (trade), Odell Beckham (draft), Mike Evans (trade), Keenan Allen (trade), and Devante Parker (trade). My RB stable is not as enviable (Thomas Rawls, Jay Ajayi, TJ Yeldon, and Eddie Lacy. I'm fully on board the Cook/Fournette train.

Would it be crazy of me to offer Allen straight up for the 1 - 2 pick to get one of them? The likely, though not certain, trade partner is a WR wasteland outside of Edelman. For what it's worth, I really like Allen and I've basically had him taking up a bench spot for the last 1.5 seasons. His ceiling is Top 5 WR...his floor seems to be bench warmer. I've also proven to be a terrible dynasty drafter outside of OBJ and Kenneth Dixon (no longer with me).

He's on another level than those guys. Cook has size, speed, and power comparable to a Todd Gurley or a Marshall Faulk as I said earlier. Plus his catching is A1.

I don't pay attention to college much, but wasn't Chubb seriously considered Fournette - Gurley level before his injury? Assuming he fully recovers in the next few years, wouldn't he be a better value if we can get him in the 2nd and a good DEF player in the 1st?
