    Three years would be enough. If he doesn’t play three years at his age he is absolutely done.

    The big risk financially is this year and because his deal it’s not huge colts probably don’t care. Next year he gets tagged and either doesn’t sign and doesn’t get paid or signs and no shows but loses it all to fines.

    I imagine coming off what they think is an injury they will make him practice a few weeks before considering him in game shape and ready to go. Probably definitely wait the full 21 days they are allowed

    What I read earlier is max he can be suspended for conduct detrimental was 4 weeks with no pay and also allowed to be fined up to one game check.

    After preseason and seeing how AR froze defenses in the run game I shocked Kareem Hunt isn’t blowing up the colts to play here.

    That’s exactly why the team wanted a high pick and refused renegotiation. Ultimately Jt and his agent really hurt themselves and attempted this a year too early.

    Even if they suspend him for conduct detrimental to the team they can only make him miss 4 games with no pay and fine a weeks salary. That puts him missing 8 games so he could still get his credited season.

    Hopefully the team can maintain the level of energy seen in preseason. It was refreshing to see them having fun on the field.

    It’s sad to see fans of all other teams ripping Irsay for this but to be honest I think almost all other teams would have handled it this way. I bet most owners are ecstatic seeing Jim stick to his guns

    If suspended he gonna give up money this year as well. His career earnings at that point is pretty low after taxes. Hope he has a good backup plan

    Sounds a lot like checkmate unless he is really willing to end his career.

    They will likely tag him and he won’t come in next year on pup. So he will get fined and forfeit every check for each game missed. So really he will only make the money for this year and probably cost himself a 40m dollar contract if not more. Who you think is gonna pay a running back who has been out of the league for two years.

    The 20 million a season now makes sense to me it’s to play for 4 this year 20 next and 20 after that so pretty much 3 year 45m. That’s also why he is saying he will take less from another team because he’s giving up the year at 4m in a contract with a new team

    It’s sad that this whole dispute is probably over not wanting to play this year at 4 million. Because the tag season and the year after would net him at 25m for 25 and 26 season together.

    Pittman is on same type of contract and looking at a big payday as well if you give Taylor money are you upset if Pittman turns around and asks for more or sits.

    I know you have lots that hold out but I didn’t think many of them were still on rookie deals before they could even be franchised.

    Not gonna be good for the league if you have teams giving into demands by players who are on rookie contracts. Won’t be long guys be holding out every year after a good year.

    So why not just make the trade because he has to pass a physical to prove he’s healthy then hold him to his contract and available franchise tags

    Would the dolphins have the same rights to franchise tag him if they trade for him?

    Even if he managed to stay out all year getting paid with injury can’t we still tag him next year. If he doesn’t report while tagged doesn’t he lose the money for each game he sits. So essentially wouldn’t he only make around 5m for the next two years and tank his future value by taking two years away from football.

    If Jt really starts talking about only going to Miami and signing there for cheaper I would break talks off. Definitely getting worse compensation if he is forcing teams out of the competition saying he doesn’t want to sign there either.
