  1. There is so much wrong with this post I don't even know where to start.

    1. you don't have an all-time great QB. You had one. Then you drafted one of the greatest prospects ever, and he had a darn good rookie year. But make no mistake, at this stage of his development, Luck is not Peyton, he isn't Brady nor Rodgers or even Brees. If you want him to get there, you have to develop him and keep him upright.

David Carr is one of the top 20 QB prospects of all-time (my opinion) and he now has a syndrome named after him. If you don't have a capable OL Luck could get David Carr'd. And that would be a darn shame, he could be one of the best ever.

    2. You have speed on the inside, no real #2 threat, and an aging superstar who could fall off a cliff at any time.

    3. Ballard and Lacy = thunder and lightning? Oh that's bad.... Thunder is for a pure power back, lightning is for a pure speed guy, the best example in recent memory is Tiki Barber and Brandon Jacobs for the Giants a few years ago. Lacy and Ballard don't fit either mold properly. A good tandem, but not really something that should be classified as thunder and lightning. Oh and Lacy would be a big reach at 24, but that's really besides the point isn't it?

    4. No team in NFL history has ever consistently won 56-13. Not even the 07 Patriots routinely did that, and they were the best offensive team of all-time.

    5. In the NFL it doesn't matter how you win, just that you do it. Each team needs it own identify and The colts have decided to go ground and pound until Luck develops and is ready to lead a team to the promised land slinging it around like Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers. The biggest mistake the colts can make (and it does t appear as if they are) is to assume the kid is already Peyton Manning. He isn't, and won't be that level of elite for quite awhile, if ever.

Rock and Roll might be more appropriate...I never said not to address the line!!! We have already added 2 starters, the young guys we had are going to improve and ijalana is supposedly gonna be healthy and we can still sign another guard so our line already will be vastly improved...Now i will say I've come off the thought of not drafting a guard in the 1st. If Cooper is there at 24 you take he is SPECIAL, I don't see him being there though so you go rush OLB in the first or trade back into the 2nd and take Margus Hunt if available Lacy or Warford , although there is a big drop off from Cooper to Warford IMO...Luck will show this year with time that he is already elite, he carried that team last year and won a lot of games on pure ability...Brady and Peyton are on their final legs, Flacco is good but lost a lot of his surrounding cast...Luck will own the AFC the next 10 years..NOTHING WRONG WITH HAVING A GOOD LINE BUT AGAIN I REITERATE YOU DON'T PLAY GROUND AND POUND WITH LUCK AND THE RECEIVERS AND TIGHT ENDS HE HAS IT'S CRAZY! Do the Packers ground and pound, or the Pats, or the Broncos, or the Falcons????????? If you have an elite QB you use that to bury teams...

  2. I know I said not to take a guard , but I looked into it more and studied tape of Warford and Cooper,,,Warford is not a first round pick. Cooper on the other hand is SPECIAL and I like him more than Womack if he is there than I agree that he is that rare guard you take in the 1st...He is one of the best pass blockers I've ever seen come out of college and his athleticism allows him to be a great run blocker in space...1 of the most athletic guards I've seen...So there you have it, I admit I was wrong and if he is there and we take him instead of a rush OLB I will be fine...I think he will be a pro bowler for years!

  3. I like his size and mean streak, but he gets beat off the ball a lot, if he gets his hands on you he is impressive, but he gets beat of the bowl and misses run blocks in space...I wanted to be open minded about him so I studied him more and he'd be great in the mid 2nd if we trade back or trade in, but not in the first. Warmack and Cooper are the only guards worthy of a 1st round pick in my opinion and he will be gone before 24...If Cooper falls I absolutely love him, GREAT, GREAT pass blocker, great in space, rare athlete for his size...

  4. A lot of people were raving about him, but after studying him more and reading analysis on him he is a 1 trick pony....He doesn't collapse the pocket, doesn't have good agility, and can't play third down....If we are going to spend a first on a DT he should be able to pressure the QB and play 3rd down. Williams is a space eater and I believe Chapman is a better player right now if healthy and they say he is healthy...Still say we need to go OLB in the first.

  5.  of course he will be a vertical threat.

But he was certainly brought in to use his bigger body to run some slants add not drop passes like T.Y & Avery did out of fear of being hit.

Gosh, maybe he can put that body to use as a REAL blocker too!

Exactly!!! If certain receivers only ran certain routes we'd be pretty easy to gameplan for...Heyward-Bey can do both and he plays to his speed unlike Avery who never really separated on vertical routes.....T.Y will run a lot of the verticals and Fleenor will run a lot of seam routes too. And lets not forget about Brazil I love his game when he gets opportunities...

  6. I don't want to spend anything higher than a 5 on a RB....  (yes, I know as of now we don't have a 5)

The strength of the draft is defense....   so teams (including the Colts) will be snapping up as much defensive talent as they can...   that will push some quality WR's,  RB's and OL down lower than they would otherwise normally be drafted...   so a decent one will be found in R's 5 and 6....

I think we can find one there....

I don't object to that....Barner could be a Sproles like player if he falls to the 6th or Stepfan Taylor would'nt be a bad choice....I'd just like a back that's a change of pace either big and fast like Lacy Or Ball or speedy like Barner, another possibility in the 6th or 7th would be Maysonet out of Stony Brooke he could be a steal...Carter is good 3rd back, I just hope we can get a back to replace Brown and just trade him for whatever we can get...He will more than likely be hurt half the year again anyways..

  7. I see him as similar to Garcon only in that he has questionable hands but will make the fantastic catch every now and then.  DHB has more speed but doesn't play with the edge, physicality or swag that Garcon brings to the table. He also hasn't made the number of big plays that Garcon has over the course of his career so far.  Then again DHB never had the opportunity to catch passes from Peyton or RG3 either.  Now he finally gets his shot to play with a real franchise caliber quarterback in Andrew Luck. Based on what I've seen from him thus far, I can't say right now that DHB will be a better version than Garcon but who knows...hopefully his best games are ahead of him.

He picked Luck over Stafford and getting overlooked because of Megatron to play here so that should tell you something....Oakland is the worst place a player can end up and you can't base it off that...I still feel terrible for McFadden, it's a shame a player like that is wasting away in the black hole....Garcon has an edge, but would he have that edge if he had players like Mcnown and a washed up Palmer throwing him the ball??? I don't know?

  8. OK....  maybe insult wasn't the right word....   fair enough....

How about annoy??     Do you get the sense you've annoyed a few people here??

And I write that knowing that I myself have annoyed one or two posters here...  (maybe more!)

I'm sure I've annoyed plenty as I have also been annoyed..lol, it's all in fun and we all want the Colts to win I don't take it too seriously. Now if people are getting ugly or personal insulting each other that is another story...

  9. I wouldn't go thay far. Thomas is a stud

I said they are similar type players and could be like Thomas, I agree Thomas is a stud, only receiver I'd take over Thomas right now is Calvin Johnson....Thomas is T.O. with better hands..Bey has the ability to get close and could be a number 1,...I wish we signed him to at least a 3 year deal though cause he will be expensive after this year if it works out like I think it will.

  10. You meant this guy?

Dudes only problem is staying healthy......

He made some plays, but he missed a LOT of holes, thats why a rookie 5th round pick supplanted him....I never denied he has speed and when he manages to see the hole and go he's gone, I want him to do good don't get me wrong he is just not reliable at all, he can block and hit the occasional big play. I still have hope we can use him as a receiver out of the backfield more which is where I think he can be at his best..

  11. Here is the first thing you've written that I agree with.    You're definitely an "I told you so!"  type of poster...

Being a new poster and coming here and insulting lots of other posters and telling them how wrong they are and how right you are is not a good way to win friends and influence people....

    Just some food for thought....

It's called debate, I don't believe I've insulted anyone just disagreed, I have been insulted who cares it's the point to debate we won't know who is right till the draft after the season...We are all Colts fans, so if I'm wrong and we win I'll be happy, if I'm right and we struggle I'll be the first to admit it....

  12. This team is solid at RB...    IF Brown can stay in the game.    Brown and Ballard are a "great" pair.

No back can do it all alone....     unless his name is Peterson or Sanders,.

I think our upgraded OL will have many on this site tooting the Brown/Ballard horn by mid season.

"the KILLER B'S"    you heard it here first.....

Brown is terrible.....he can't find the hole, all he has is straight line speed and he goes down if you look at him funny....

  13. Don't know if you happened to notice....     but MJD, and even Ray Rice for that matter (a similar back in size and style)  are both 2nd round picks...

    Hmmmm..........

Ok we can trade back into the second we r in the bottom 4th of the 1st as it is, If not Hunt, Mingo, Jarvis Jones, Datone Jones,or Austin this is my pick I follow my board and I want an impact player not a run of mill the guard who is not any more of a sure thing....There will be a guards that go later who will outperform the so-called elite guards...Lacy is head and shoulders the best running back ...

  14. I think he has more potential than any receiver in the draft other than Austin, and any receiver that was available in free agency including Wallace who is a 1 trick pony....I'm excited to see what he does with a real QB!! This is why receiver is no longer a priority in the first unless Austin is somehow sitting there..."Please no comments about bad hands or drops, Reggie dropped plenty of balls himself, his hands aren't that bad and he will be running a lot of short routes where his speed and ability for YAC will be showcased in this offense....

  15. I like Warford..a lot, my only thing is if Ijalana is able to come back we could wait until later for another guard..Thats a  BIG IF tho.

Donald Thomas is very good and a steal, Mcglynn or Shipley will be adequate if the rest of the line is solid, very few teams have great lineman at every position on the line...Brandon Moore is a possibility or just draft a guard in the 3rd...

  16. You read my mind on Margus Hunt!!  Every time I watch this guy or see his bio I envision another JJ Watt He's another guy If he's still there especially if we're able to still trade back just a little...we snatch him up.

I'm trying to convince these people but they want another guard in the "1st!", I can understand the 3rd, we can't trade back to far, a lot of mock's have Belichik and the Pats taking him at 26 and that would be bad for us, he can be just like Watt and can play multiple positions and is great on special teams as well....They are all traumatized from watching luck get killed last year..

  17. This team has put itself in the position to take any player they want short of QB, RB, or TE.      Yes, they don't need a RB in round one.    They can get a player every bit as talented as Lacy in the 4th if they wish.   Bell, Burkhead, Ball, Taylor, Gillespie... and on and on..   There IS NO ADRIAN PETERSON in this draft.

Guard would be a fine selection if Warmack or Cooper are there,. heck I would not be mad if they got Watford.    Luck was running for his life last season.   That has got to stop, and it will.      Don't be shocked to see a G taken first.

All that said.....   IMO, I think OLB is the pick in the first round.     If they use it.

Ogletree, Brown, Collins would all be outstanding picks to help this front 7.    Yes, yes...  I know Og and Brown are listed at ILB.    But I have seen BOTH play and they will play anywhere our staff would want them to play.   They are "play makers"  in every sense.

CB...   I would not mind one if certain players are gone but personally I feel that a "very good" pass rush will make our CB's look "very good" ..      I think the rush has to be taken care of first.     Then worry about the D backfield.   JMO.

WR...   I would love to see a WR taken first,  Wayne is not getting any younger so if the right player is there I can see Indy going in this direction.  Personally...   i like T Austin...    Wayne, Hilton and Auston would be a nightmare for any DC with our TE's ......  WOW... the possibilities.     But TA will not be there.....

If Austin is there you have to take him, I haven't even considered it being realistic though...He would make us the greatest show on turf..We should sign Brandon Moore at guard he was in the Pro Bowl in 2011 and draft a guard in the later rounds to develop....Agree to disagree about the RB part...There will not be another Adrian Peterson , but Lacy will be elite and he is the only 1 worthy of a first..Packers will take him if we don't..If Austin falls we take him, if one of the rush lb falls we take them, if not take Lacy, it's a can't miss safe pick, rush lb is the greatest need and Hunt would be a scary rush olb, if the age scares you then Mingo or either Jones, if they aren't available linebacker drops way off from there and neither elite guard warford or cooper will be there...You go BPA Lacy, Hunter, Hopkins...

  18. Something would have to drastically change for mingo to drop even past 15  i can see us maybe drafting Margus Hunt or  Damontre Moore for pass rush

or CB Xavier Rhodes or Desmond Trufant

or if we go OL we could think about selecting larry warford

most likely Margus Hunt or Xavier Rhodes  but i really like Datone Jones instead of RJF opposite of Redding

Hunt or Jones would be great, Jones would be valuable because Redding can't stay healthy and Jones is better now anyways...Hunt is who I want though he can play rush linebacker spot or DE and has J.J. watt potential...
