Suicide watch as my UCLA guys go to GB.
-
Guards need to be physical, strong, some athleticism and show a nasty streak. check, check, check, check.
-
Da'Rick is a knucklehead.
-
Barrett was likely to start either training camp or the year on the PUP list. I still want Franklin from UCLA, difference maker at RB.
-
Lacy ran behind what was one of the best lines in college football, he is not that good. If they are choosing a RB they need Jonathon Franklin from UCLA. Ballard and Franklin produce a nice 1-2 punch together.
-
The thoughts of trading away next years first for a 2nd round pick in this draft is absurd.
-
what time start round two???
6:30 eastern time.

Pretty disappointing we didn't get Datone, but Werner is a dang good football player. High IQ, relentless worker, will fit right in.
-
Datone Jones is the superior prospect, but that is coming from a UCLA fan.
-
If he does well and leaves, isn't that a compensation pick too?
-
Being in the Detroit area, the mood is that he'll sign there given that he will be their #2 WR for this upcoming year, with Burleson sliding into the slot role.

Not sold on the Ravens or Texans. Pats are always good even when they don't look good on paper. Ravens have added some good players on the defense, after losing 6 starters, but their secondary is pretty terrible right now on paper. We beat the Texans every yr. at least once and I think they've taken a step back this off season IMO.
I'm not too worried about the Ravens being bad, but until they are dethroned they are still the best. Pats, they have the ultimate X-Factor and a healthy steroid filled Cushing had the Texans running on all cylinders.
(I try to keep my expectations low
)

I think if we sign Heyward-Bey, ON PAPER, which means very little, but I believe we would be the 2nd best team in the AFC behind Denver
Patriots, Ravens, Texans.

Ok, but my point still stands. Center's are rarely taken in the 1st rd.. There are exceptions for those who have very high talent, but there isn't a center in this yrs. draft that has great talent. We could easily get one in the 3rd or 4th rd.. I think people are dreaming though about drafting a center. I don't see Satele going anywhere and we already have Shipley and McGlynn who can play center. Probably be one of the last positions we'll be looking for unless there is one that is versatile and can also play guard.
Jeff Saturday - Undrafted
Matt Birk - 6th round
John Sullivan - 6th round
Sprinkle in that most of the league has had most centers drafted between rounds 3-UDFA...
Was just givin' ya a hard time !
-
Probably won't be a top guard available when we pick and I don't ever recall any team ever picking a center with a 1st rd. pick.
The Browns did with Alex Mack a few years ago.
-
If we sign him to a cheap 2 to 3 year deal then...
-
Lemonier has been steadily rising up mock drafts, seen him as high as the first round. Doubt he gets out of the second and into the third.

Tony Ugoh.

If we take RB I'd love Jonathon Franklin but that's a dream scenario for me.

Being a UCLA fan and seeing Allen every year, the guy is way talented. But I don't see where you can go wrong, Hopkins reminds me of Roddy White the way he attacks the ball and Allen reminds me of Jimmy Smith back from the Jags days.
-
Have fun trying to cover TY and Tavon if that ever happened. So many different looks with Wayne, Hilton, Austin, Fleener, Allen.

Blurb from Rotoworld:
Tennessee WR Cordarrelle Patterson dropped just 4.2 percent of his intended targets in 2012.
The drop rate compares favorably to Keenan Allen (4.7 percent), Terrance Williams (5.8 percent), and especially Vols teammate Justin Hunter (12.1 percent). Although draftniks have nitpicked Patterson's tendency to "body catch" as opposed to secure passes with his hands, his efficiency wasn't an issue in college. Patterson is expected to be drafted in the 11-27 range this April.

I got destroyed by Kovacs in high school. Still have nightmares from that hit

Like Gavin said, our throwbacks from a couple years ago were cool aside from the placement of the Horseshoe. Anything after that though I think would be too much for a clean and classy organization.
