  1. I was also high on Chris Clemons, he essentially is a cheaper, and a 1year younger version of Bethea......Clemons 93 tackles, 8 passes deflected, 1 int......Bethea 29yrs, 110 tackles, 6 passes deflected, 2 ints.......EDC would be a very nice addition, Colts may not want to commit to younger Center, and they may get a stop gap player like Goodwin and draft one and groom Kaled Holmes.

  2. Sign Vaughn as cheap depth back up/spot start for injured players.....he was given a +2 rating by PFF which you would be suprised to see some of the negative ratings they have given star players.  Toler sucks and can't play more than 2 games in a row.  Davis wants a 40+ million dollar deal that is just crazy.  I just know in 2 years when we have to sign Luck, Fleener, Ballard, Allen, TY etc.....you will want some of that 40 mill back.....People will then complain about having that contract..... guaranteed!  Love Vontae but he is looking to get paid and may be to costly.  I agree we have no idea about what overpaying and underpaying is, we are just fans.

  3. I realize that he is not responsible for the 378 yards......I do not agree with paying a corner that much money when our defense needs more help stuff the run.  There is a stock pile of CB's out there that can perform and if you find a nice tandem for less money than I think we are better off.

  4. Does anybody remember our defense giving up 378 passing to the Chiefs with Vontae Davis.  Remember Tavon Austin burning up Davis for a 60 TD and a breakout game of 310 yards all purpose.  I really think he is not worth the 40 million he is asking for and he would be putting our team in a cap pinch in the future.  Grigs I hope your ego does not get the best of you and let him go because you traded a second rounder for him, sign Vaughn again let go of Toler and go find a couple solid CB's and move on.

  5. Sam Shields contract did not help our chances with Vontae.....If they pay him over 40 million I will flip out, we can drop Toler and find to 2 quality CB's for less money......Sam Shields rated C+ GOT 40 MILLION.....  EJ Biggers from Tampa is 6'0' tall and his pro day he clocked a 4.34 he is 26yrs old rated C.  Throw in a Chris Cook from Minnesota at 6'2' and ran 4.46 and 27yrs old also rated C and we will have some BIG corners that are veterans, still young, speed, and could improve.  We will still have cash to go after a safety Byrd, Chris Clemons, or Bethea for that matter and add some other pieces on the defense.

  6. I like Jared Allen.....If he would switch to OLB like Mathis he could have a great year.  Blocking those 2 would be a nightmare, and I think he would benefit from joining a winning team, and should cost less than a younger player.  Rumor has it Bears a interested in cutting Peppers for Michael Bennett to reunite with his TE brother for the Bears Martellus Bennett.

  7. I am not saying signing those CB's are the answer, I think that we can find a solid player for less money in free agency.  Players tend to play better in a contract year anyway.  Overpaying for Vontae only to see him maybe take a step back would be disappointing.  All the players in FA this year were in contract years so I guess this is a mute point.  Just don't overpay anybody, D'Qwell Jackson is already a bit pricey and FA has not even started yet.

  8. Do not overpay him, the money we save by not signing him we can address elsewhere.  There are tons of quality CB's in free agency.  You can cut Toler also..... and sign 2 quality CB's for the price of Vontae and Toler.  Toler in my opinion is garbage and cannot stay healthy to even get the reps he desperately needs.  Shields, Captain, DRC, Talib, Verner, The Colts could get 2 by signing them to a front loaded contract so that they can cut them in 2 years even if they have a 5 year contract.  Thats how a lot of NFL contracts are set up.  NFL=Not For Long

  9. Bethea is a real good player.......he is 29 not 31, he is actually highly sought after and will get a deal we should not compete with.  I love Bethea ball need more of a ball hawking safety.  We already have a hard hitting Landry which I think will have a better year this year.  Bethea has been pretty consistent 14 ints in 8 years, 800+ tackles etc....Polian speaks highly of him because he drafted him.  As a GM now, you would be paying a premium price for someone who has lost a step.  NFL stands for Not For Long and it is a business and what have you done for me lately.  If he would take a reasonable contract I would love for him to stay, seeing how he has not had a real big payday this may be his last chance and will probably do so.  Bears are really interested I heard, hate to see him go but excited to see the future......

  10. Byrd will want close to 9 million a year.....he may be worth it but we have to many holes to fill NO WAY we will spend 15+ mill a year on both of our safeties!  Orakpo will want tall $ also he had only 10 sacks last year and 39 in his whole career less, that's less than 10 a year.....Mathis had half of that last year....We should be looking at lower price olb's or end's......Jared Allen at 31 is younger than Mathis and about 3 inches taller and 40lbs heavier.  Allen has the size to play olb and has already had his big payday with the Vikings....He may take less to get himself a championship???  Just a thought.....I am excited for the off season.  Hopefully we get the pieces needed with out breaking the bank!

  11. Free Safety-----Jarius Byrd

Cornerbacks-----resign Vontae Davis, let go of Toler and use his money plus a little to pick up Captain Munnerlyn he is a stud with more passes defended than Davis last year and younger or Sam Shields from Green Bay

OLB----Orakpo is good but does have some injury risks not to mention he is expensive....Worilds from Pittsburgh is younger and just as solid plus little less $

Center----Alex Mack, he is the best available, most likely will be franchised tagged like some of these players

Guard-----Linval Joseph solid 25 yrs old and has even more upside or Roger Saffold solid also and 26yrs old

    Tackle----Anthony Collins

WR----Hakeem Nicks fits well and is the opposite of DHB, Eric Decker has great size and fits well also, Anquan Boldin I think may be the best fit for veteran leadership, cost $, I think we do have young talented receivers so playing time may be limited.

RB--- MJD veteran, cheap, knows the division and can split carries with Ballard and T-Rich.

These moves might never happen but one can dream, they due have the cap space to get it done though.....Greg Toler, Satele, will be let go.....that free up 9 million a year in cap space.....some of the other moves will be swapping out old for the new, not signing Bethea leaves room for Byrd etc.....Some teams will be Franchise Tagging some of these players, so who will the Colts get......I have a feeling we will get more big names than last year.....Don't forget the Draft and some of our CFL free agents......Go Colts

  12. Jason Worilds from the Steelers he is 26 he is the next best rated OLB behind Orakpo and he is 2 yrs younger.  Cheaper and younger that would be my first pick......even further down the line but still in the top 100 overall free agents players #66 rated overall Obrein Schofield 25yrs old from Seattle or #76 rated Vincent Rey 26yrs from Cincinnati both come from great defenses and the run a 4-3  3-4 variant so it would not be a big new learning curve for either.  Save some money for the whole team, because we have some other holes to fill.

  13. How can Donald Brown command crazy money is what I want to know, nobody in the NFL is gonna be dying to pay that man.  He is 27 and playing his heart out and I commend him for his effort but his past 3 years have been average and the fact the 1 special year and some big plays deserves a contract is really unrealistic. (Lets not forget that a 5th round pick rookie beat him out of his job last year) I get it he knows the system and I would not mind having him back for a reasonable amount, but I don't see him being part of any top free agent talk.  Ballard, Richardson, and whomever......Here are the 2014 top free agent running backs according to Bleacher Report...

After seeing what is available I think I would prefer to have Donald Brown back, at the right price....Players almost always play better in a contract year!

    1. Knoshon Moreno 26yrs

    2. Ben Tate 25yrs

    3. Rashad Jennings 28yrs

    4. Darren Mcfadden 26yrs

    5. Maurice Jones Drew 29yrs

    6. Rashard Mendenhall 26yrs

    7. Donald Brown 27yrs

    8. Isaac Redman 29yrs

    9. Amhad Bradshaw 27yrs

  14. DHB contract this year is worth a maximum of 3 million with performance bonuses this year.....I am pretty sure he has not met those numbers so he will not make the full 3 mill, he has been a great teammate and with a another off season who knows.  He will be making less next year after the year he is having, if he would sign for 1.5 or less next year and maybe give some small performance bonuses I think we should take that chance.  He will improve after more continuity with Andrew and with Pep having him run some different routes.  Rogers though may be the next Brandon Marshall or Alshon Jeffery, that guy is a BEAST.  I am very excited to see him after a full off season with Luck

  15. We he will definitely not be catching any interceptions with those hands....lol.....  I like DHB and it is nice to see him helping on special teams as a gunner, it may be hard at this point to switch positions in his career.  I don't want him trying CB against Brady this weekend, he will be dropped next year anyways with the return of Reggie Wayne.  I like the what we got right now DaRick Rogers, Griff Whalen, Lavon Brazil, TY Hilton, and the return of Reggie Wayne.  If DHB signs for cheap I would not mind having him as a veteran back-up utility guy WR, Gunner, etc....

  16. Also Vontae Davis the last 2 games is having issues with man coverage,  he was great all year until the last two games.  I can still see him in my nightmares chasing Johnson and Austin all the way to the endzone.  There was national talk of him playing at a pro bowl level, now these last 2 games have erased that!
